An excellent series from musician and product manager Avery Burdette. So, one could transform basics of woodwinds and clarinet and engage in a new dimension and depth of a new medium in musical sounds --
I first discovered the WX7 back in the 80's and by using the Yamaha mfc footpedal board along with the VLm70 module I had a lot of immediate control over my playing on stage in group situations.
Can you try a Roland PS-6 harmonist or a Behringer US600 Ultra Shifter harmonist playing 2 or 3 note cords with the WX5? I would be very interested hear the results.
There is a chip from patchman and maybe that has a better flute sound. I neve knew the VL70 was a physical modeling machine. Well, I'm watching this because I found one for sale at a good price and I'm thinking of buying it. I'm a recorder player and tried to play the flute. Since I'm not a musician, I'd love to be able to play some songs for personal amusement on the WX5. But, indeed, it is a crappy flute sound!

Thanks for that piece of piece of brain guys... It will help me to make up my mind on the WX5..
This was very interesting, thanks!
My research shows you played at the 1997 NAMM Show_VL Virtual Big Band. The filters would not allow me to post links.
WX5 is discontinued, I want know, will be there a new mode of WX5 ?

There is a video on UA-cam that does just that with the PS-6 and a wind controller.
What sound Module do you recommend for a WX5?
Yamaha VL70m.
As a flute player, have to say.. worst flute sound EVAH.
I owned this for years and thought the cello was fantastic. Great fun to play as well.
