NOTE: Do this at your own risk :)
Ive had to use headphones for calls for two years now thank you SO MUCH!! FINALLY a fix! You're the best!
Thank you so much, couldn't clean it well on my s9+ so i made 2 very small holes on it and it works now perfectly :)
ALTHOUGH MY PROBLEM WASN'T GLUE JUST BUILD UP OF DUST AND GRIME YOU SAVED MY PHONES LIFE, I COULDN'T HEAR A THING NOW IT'S SO LOUD DON'T EVEN NEED IT AGAINST MY HEAD . THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Glad to know that buddy...cheers
This worked perfectly! I just got my A13 2 months ago and was worried I would have to replace my phone. It took under 5 minutes and bam! you are half man half amazing!
James, thank you, this worked great for my A51 5G! Helped having headset magnifiers w/LED, good lighting, and one of those teeth/gum pipe cleaners. I did bend the speaker cover you talked about damaging, but it was an easy fix. I gently popped it out using a needle, cleaned the 'mesh' and inside of the speaker more, popped the mesh back in using the needle. There are tabs on both sides of the 'mesh' as retention, just note if it's the longer or shorter tab goes into the left or right of the phone. Very easy to pop-in :D Damned pants pocket lint!!
I was already giving up on my Samsung a31 phone. But after watching your video, I tried it and it worked. God bless U

Thank you for posting! I have a Samsung Galaxy 20+. My call volume went right down after I installed Whitestone screen protector at the recommendation of Samsung. Went to Samsung again and the man there said my speaker sounded "normal", even though I've just told him I've just gotten off a phone call and I could hardly hear the other speaker. They suggested I send it for repair to Samsung which will take at least 2 working days. I. had to google to find where the speakers are in S20+ and fixed it in a couple of minutes! So thank you for posting!
Welcome! happy to help
I had to earphones everytime I receive a call ..been trying to fix the issue for so long but couldn't find the right solution .. Rubbed off the particles using a toothbrush and omg it worked !! Thankyou so much ..You saved my phone
thanks for viewing too..
Thank you! You did help me, but not in the intended way. I didn't realize the sound was coming out a tiny grill at the very top of the phone. The thing that helped me was when you showed the closeup of your phone with the grill of tiny dots at the very top, because it taught me how to hold my phone during calls. Turns out I was holding my ear too far away.
Solution is @2:08
Ty I cant handle this fuckers facd
haha...chill yeah....i'm no expert in video making...just sharing solution that I believe helped many people. If you cannot handle it, stop watching..its free content anyway...
Ok, I have to give you a big thank you. I have a Cubot X19 I bought last year and the volume dropped way down a week ago. I could not find a solution. Came across your video and although I knew my problem was the same, it was not caused by a new protector. However, I knew immediately what had happened. Last week, I cleaned my phone with some detergent and must have got some in the ear piece. My wife and I did a quick clean and I was blown away. Back to normal. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction and for saving me having to buy a new phone. Also, I love your video. Straight to the point while keeping it simple and chatty.
Hey buddy...im glad it helped out. And thanks for the feedback...have a good one yeah!
Genius, thank you so much, worked perfectly. For anyone reading this be very careful of the pressure, Jame is 100% correct you can damage the mesh, which on mine is plastic, I managed to gently push it mostly back into place, so not too bad for me, just be very soft and patient. Also I used a cotton bud to pick off the pieces of glue, just twist it as you do and again be gentle..
I cannot thank you enough. This was the exact problem with my phone. It was almost sent away for repair until I found this video.
Thank you so much.

@@JamesLeow Without 3rd party, how can I get into the system volume and increase it? Like the mtk, we could directly go into system and increase the volume. Can it be done with the galaxy note 8?? Everything else is fine.
This worked beautifully on my Galaxy S9 - masking tape, flosser tool and toothpick. There was buildup on that volume area on the side of the phone. Who knew that could happen. I also set the volume up for all volume settings including media, notifications etc. Think that helped too. Really appreciate James' figuring out a simple solution that carriers etc won't tell you about.
Fixed my problem immediately. This was a refurbed phone, and I wondered why the audio was so low. I did this and BINGO. Fixed. I have a air blower for my lenses, and used a small plastic tooth cleaning tool.
Thank you so much for this brother. I've been using earphones and having my phone on speaker when making calls. Dust particles were blocking the earpiece, I have just tried this and it is working perfectly fine. Shukran!
Glad it helped...you have a good one buddy...
Thank you so much. I can't tell you how I surprised I was that cleaning the speaker grill did the trick. In my case ist was just (sorry to say) just lint or dust and earwax that clogged the little holes. I used a toothbrush with fine hairs to clean it, and some duct tape to take the wax off, than rather push it in. Man, I was so sure that this was a technical problem that I did not even check this simple physical obstruction first. I did resets, cache cleanups, restarts and a lot of tweaking the volume (adapt sound, volume limit, Equalizer boost...) - wasted about three hours with no effect until I saw you video and took a closer look on that tiny, tiny speaker grill. Now that it is cleaned after 5 minutes, the volume level is back to normal - incredible.
glad it helped buddy!!
Wow! Thank you so much. ❤ I've been putting my speaker phone this whole time. I'm partially deaf, so I thought it was me this whole time. FYI, I used the floss pick and Gorrila brand tape, as it was the stickiest I had. Worked like a charm. 😊
Omg it's been 6 months and I tried everything including factory reset and no chance.
Maannn thanks to your video I fixed it using a small metal needle !!!!
Thank you now the high volume is back!!!!
Thank You.. Same as all the other post This video saved me the hassle of contacting my provider which im sure would have ended up with the "sorry we don't know what the issue is, but it's time for an upgrade would you like to purchase a new phone today ? Before watching this I was trying 2 clean the 2 holes on top of the phone ha ha. As soon as I scraped a little i tried calling & Volume is working !! Thank You again 😊
Glad it helped and thanks for viewing!!
I was planning to buy a new phone after trying almost everything. This really helped and my earpiece feels almost as a new one. Thank you so much.
Thank you! My note 10 call volume was horrible. Turns out it had some water inside the earpiece. Since it is waterproof sometimes gets some water inside. I just blew some air my mouth. So much better now!
you are welcome!!
Thanks so much! It was quite hard to get the dried stuff out of my Galaxy S9+. But it was worth it! It was actually my problem! Thanks for saving my day!
Glad I could help!
That's what happened to me installing a liquid glue glass screen protector. Also the mic got
Clogged. Now I use masking tape to prevent glue from clogging any cavities in the phone. I used a soft bridle toothbrush to scrape off the dried glue. Might need to use a magnifying glass to have a better look. Thanks for sharing sir.
Thanks for sharing too
Perfect. I've been struggling for weeks with this problem. I used a touth brush. It worked perfectly 👌
Great to hear!
Thank you! In a desperate measure I had used hand sanitizer on my phone and clogged the speaker and the receiver. Cleaned both with a soft tooth brush. Works great!
Wow.... I'm freaking relieved.... I was thinking if it was a software issue... Damn... It worked. I'm so happy
good for you!!!
Just try rubbing it with a toothbrush and puuff , blow the particles away.
Toothbrush always works. Also the sentitive ones have softer bristles so no worries of messing the mesh wire.
thanks for sharing man
Lovely, its worked for me, I have been struggling since a week. Your solution helped me to avoid visit service center and waste money and time
great!!! happy days
Dude Yur the Man!!!
I use Plexus plastic and screen cleaner and that was it
I scrubbed with alcohol and sucked with vacuum several times and WOW what a difference its LOUD NOW!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Dear, thanks. That's work for my Samsung Note 9. So saved my lot of money to repair it or buy a new one just because of this volume issue.
You rock sir... hats off to you... I tried everything before watching this video and this trick just worked for me. Thanks a lot
Welcome buddy!!!
Wow it worked ...i used s sewing needle cutip snd a tiny bit of alcohol or hydrogrn peroxide a tiny bit dont drench cutip...scrape and rub and blow on it...volume sounds loud...mine was just dirty etc..Ty UA-camr👍🏽
you are most welcome...have a good day
Thanks. I think I got dirt and possibly hand cream in my S9. I tried your method which worked and then went over afterwards with a slightly damp electric toothbrush that got the rest of the gunk out. My phone has volume again - happy days
Glad it helped
THANK YOU :) You saved my day...in my S10e it was the same root cause, just instead of glue from protector, I had a lot of dust - from the pocket :) and I used just regular sewing needle.
Once again ... THANK YOU VERY MUCH
you are welcome!!! :)
It's great. Thanks. I've also tried everything else without success. Your solution fixed the problem Samsung A70
glad that helped buddy....thanks for viewing too!
Thank you very much for the tip, it helped me clean the mesh and get my call volume/sound back.
Glad it helped...have a good day
Yes it worked :) In my phone the mesh looked like a series of white dots. But the white stuff actually was gunk. I didn't know that. Maybe it should also be possible to clean it with water, as the phone is waterproof... Anyway now it works again. Thnx. I should have tried this first, before cleaning the cash etc etc.
Glad I could help!
Worked for me :) I used a little brush i use for brows bc didn't have a similar toothpick
Good for you!!!
Genius thank you!
Thanks. It worked. I used a small pin and a pressure air canister to open the holes.
Welcome buddy...have a good day ahead..:) Thanks for viewing too..appreciate it

Thank you so much I have had this problem for more than two weeks I just did it and it worked. I could see the dry gum from the screen protector coming off. Thanks so much
You're welcome! have a good day
Thank you so much! I have been using my speaker for 6 months. It made conversations very awkward. This worked!!!😀
Glad it helped!
Life saver, this worked for me. The speakers were dirty just cleaned them now I can hear everything loud and clear
great!!!!
One advice : don't be a dumbass like me and use a compass : it ended up removing the grill protection of the speaker and I managed to replace parts of it since it shattered because it's very thin. Anyway this worked i can finally enjoy good call quality!A toothbrush is perfectly working to do this . I hope this won't damage the speaker in the future!💀(I think you should pin that comment and thanks you)
Thanks! I was ready to take it to the shop because I thought it malfunctioned but then I saw your video. I had already tried some other solutions that were on UA-cam that didn't work but I tried yours and Bingo! Thanks again.
Glad I could help
Awesome tip! I knew that piece was blocked. I baked a cake yesterday and pretty sure some batter got stuck in it! Thanks!
lol...thanks for viewing too
I just bought a refurbished Samsung S8 Active. It was perfect except I could barely hear phone calls. I spent valuable time watching other UA-cam suggestions. Yours saved me from having to send the phone back! You are my guardian angel for the day :-)
Glad it helps buddy. Have a good day ahead 😊
Thank you! Your advice was useful. Call volume is back to normal.
A little brush with fine bristles and a small needle is what I use as the mesh gets blocked with dust, lint and body grease every so often I do this for the other microphone and speaker ports too.
thanks for sharing!!
Fixed my S10e - thanks much! Seems like such an obvious thing but after screwing around forever changing settings I still couldn't get the volume high enough for most calls. I just used a small brush to scrub out the speaker grille (it was packed with gunk) and wow I almost jumped out of my chair the sound is so loud now :p
thanks for sharing buddy
Tnx men..u save my day! May samsung suffering like that.. but n0w back to orig like n0thing happens.

Welcome buddy
OMG that really works on my S9+ Thnxs A Ton
welcome buddy...have a good day..
Sometimes it's as easy as just a dirty earpiece speaker.
Get some blu tac tac press firmly over the ear piece then take it off.
This piece easily becomes clogged with dirt and dust.
You will probably notice the dirt on the blu tack
Do this 5 times and call your voicemail to listen to hear the difference in a simple cleaning.
This worked for me in 30 seconds.
hey there...thanks for your suggestion..:)
Thank you for your idea , I used a new toothbrush and worked very well.👍
Thank you. You are dead right, but I used a firm bristle tooth brush. worked great. Again, thank you for posting this :)

Thank you so much! Mine was fine until a few days ago then randomly became super quiet. I thought it were my service provider but calls worked fine on speaker and headset.
I actually dropped some peanut butter on my phone recently (please don't judge haha it was delicious!) in that exact area!! It makes total sense! I'm fixing it now and so far so good.
You're a lifesaver!
Wow, i was so frustrated by the call volume of my phone, the issue makes me hate the phone cos of no solutions.
