Honestly, the way she compares finances to a garden was genius. Makes me feel like I can be more patient with my financial growth and not expect everything to happen all at once.
Sharing this for sure, I love her vibe and it's actually so wholesome that she's trying to make finance accessible for everyone when generally that's not something those in finance want to do. At least not in my experience lol
I grew up with the conditioning that talking about money is taboo, so the idea of rewriting my financial story is really empowering! Thank you, will definitely be revisiting this.
This is such a refreshing approach! Making finance relatable through metaphors and stories could be so helpful for people who've previously felt left out of financial discussions
Using stories and personal experiences to connect with finances is brilliant. I’ve always been intimidated by money talk, but thinking about my financial story might help me approach it differently
Her story about how she used to avoid talking about money because of her grandmother’s influence was so relatable! Breaking those old habits is tough but necessary
Really glad to hear her talk about the language of finance and how professionals can forget that they have that training and other people don't know what tf they're talking about
Loved the idea of the values game! Aligning financial decisions with personal values could really help people stay motivated and committed to their financial goals.
So much of this rings true for me, I have a family friend in finance and the first time I ever got a big chunk of money I was like "how do I do that thing rich people do where they take money and turn it into more money" hahah definitely checked out as he was explaining it to me though
Thank you for putting these ideas out there! One of the big challenges when working with folks is helping them engage with their finances in a way that feels approachable and exciting for them. I love these ideas of using visuals, stories, metaphors, games, and music to help clients get excited about pursuing their financial goals.
Wow! I am absolutely blown away by the incredible creativity and brilliance of this talk. For the first time in my life I feel motivated to learn about finance. With practice and focus I can learn anything. Including finance. I’m about to turn myself into a Finance Queen!!! Fin Rock Rocks! And so do you!
I never thought of finance as something that could be described as beautiful, but you’ve definitely opened my eyes... the connection between finances and living a fulfilled life is really difficult to ignore
Loved what she said about our money stories/early experiences and how to rewrite them.... I feel like every time I have savings or just good cash flow my spending immediately goes up because growing up the family motto was very much "money is for spending!" But now trying to have financial security that is obviously not serving me.
I’m a writer/director and I love the idea of connecting creativity to our finances. Never thought about it that way before but it makes it so much more interesting especially for me.
Anne - You are rocking it! This is the direction that financial advice needs to take. You are giving people the metric on how to look at their what their advisor should do for them. Using your money as a flow of your values and intentions - Keep singing the tune girl, the choir is growing!
the part where you compared financial jargon to Shakespeare was spot on! It’s so true that financial advisors often speak in a language that’s hard to follow. We definitely need more transparency
You add to the beauty, Anne! Glad to know you. Phenomenal talk and appreciate your advocacy of finance. Values and narratives are so key to explore, understand, and live out.
Anne - you are an inspiration and I admire how you creatively share about a subject that is so intimidating to most. Appreciate your authenticity and powerful msg! ❤
Great talk, Anne. I could never call finance beautiful, but I do think knowledge and wisdom about financial maters is as important as knowing and making judgment about what we eat, what we cook, how we wash laundry and buy cars, etc., etc., etc. Best to you, Fran
Making personal finance approachable and yes, beautiful is essential to embrace! Great message and energy to engage everyone to listen! I hope this is the beginning of a series showing us all how to match Aspiration with our financial journey! Thank you, Anne for leading the way to better engagement of us all! It is essential to talk about money, share good ideas, and patiently explain why some things are just bad ideas.....no matter how much someone tries to sell us 'snake oil'. Excited to see what's next!
Love this message! We ALL need to hear this perspective on money, finance, wealth. And adding the perspective of creativity is eye-opening and exciting.
I appreciate such creativity around this subject! I always thought it was meant to be something that required a lot of precision and discipline but I'm happy to have that perception changed!
I love how you’ve reimagined finance as something creative and accessible.. it's a far shout from the usual gatekeeping of people in finance that's for sure
I appreciate her trying to make finance more engaging, using music and games to could be a great way of making this stuff stick in peoples minds better!
I have never seen such a unique, creative, and FUN approach to finance -- this is the future for sure! Thanks for sharing your wisdom and message with us!!! *sharing with all my friends*
What is 1 action you can take to align your resources with this value in the next 12 months? This question got me thinking really hard re-evaluate everything!
Amazing to see this video up, Fin Rocks Rocks! You have such a great perspective that moved and touched so many people who saw this live. Excited to see it spread! 🔥🔥🔥
Great Anne! Clear, approachable and beautiful presentation. Plus a very cool green guitar! I love the way you explain financial stories. Thanks for sharing,
I think a lot of this is because the general public don't speak the language of finance and those in the finance industry don't often approach it the way she is. A lot of the times it feels pretty gate-kept.
Your comparison of financial language to Shakespeare made me chuckle, but it’s also very true. More professionals should take note and simplify their communication
Definitely a good attempt at making finance more approachable but I think there's a reason it's historically been reserved for people with a knack for numbers...
I think the concept of using games and music to engage people in finance is innovative, but I wonder how practical it is for everyone... some people are up for the challenge and might actually prefer that traditional kind of "serious" approach
I’m not sure I agree with the idea that finance needs to be ‘beautiful.’ It’s a serious business, and I worry that oversimplifying it could lead to misunderstandings or poor decisions.
I’m a bit concerned that the focus on ‘making finance beautiful’ might detract from the importance of understanding the hard numbers and facts. Not everything can or should be simplified
Asking the question of "Is that belief serving you?" and then rewording it is actually amazing.
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm so glad the question resonated with you.
Honestly, the way she compares finances to a garden was genius. Makes me feel like I can be more patient with my financial growth and not expect everything to happen all at once.

This is a seriously impressive thing she's undertaking because finance and the world of money is inherently uqly

Honestly, this needs to be talked about more! I really do want to be more financially savvy, but so many people make it so confusing!
100%
I had no idea about the great wealth transfer! So cool that that's happening

"Finance is beautiful" - who knew? The way she simplified everything makes me feel like I can actually take charge of my financial life.

With practice and focus I can learn anything. Including finance. I’m about to turn myself into a Finance Queen!!! Fin Rock Rocks! And so do you!
The analogy of talking to a mechanic and being like "just make it go" is pretty bang on how I feel when people talk finance with me lol
Fin Rock Rocks!!! Well done, Anne. You really changed our perspective about how to engage with our financial lives.
I never thought of finance as something that could be described as beautiful, but you’ve definitely opened my eyes... the connection between finances and living a fulfilled life is really difficult to ignore

Thank you Derek!!

Sarah thank you so much. It's a joy to know you
This is the kind of financial education we needed in school. Where was she when I was growing up lmao
:)
You really hit the nail on the head, Anne. Much to think about and more importantly, much to put into action.
Brilliant, I am sharing

Thank you so much for watching, Rochelle. So exciting to think about all the ways we can use our creativity to bring this subject to life!
The metaphors about gardening really resonated with me. It makes the idea of managing finances feel more organic (pardon the pun) and less daunting.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Thrilled the gardening metaphor resonated with you!
@@AnneBollin thanks haha and thank you for the reply!

Very true what she says around the 5:10 about monologue vs dialogue!
INCREDIBLE! Take it to the top! The world needs you ◡̈
Amazing! Love your energy and delivery.

Talent talent talent
Great job, Anne! This talk is fantastic.
So great. Well done. Can’t wait to send this to my friends who need to hear it. Rock on!

What an important mindset to have in this day and time. Very helpful and inspiring, Anne! Finance is beautiful!!
Hahaha man she is so cool! Would love to learn more from her, I think she's really nailed how to connect with people
Definitely guilty of thinking finance is cold and impersonal but loved that she brought her personality into it
Amazing job, Anne! Congratulations - what a great accomplishment! Very well done. 🙂

Great work on such an important topic. Appreciated this perspective 🙏.
Thank you, Anne.
I’m still on the fence about whether finance can really be “fun,” but I can’t deny that this talk made it a lot more approachable.
I agree about the jargon that financial planners use. It is super confusing and honestly a lot of the time it feels intentional.
She's so endearing. Thoroughly enjoyable and educational.
I think a lot of this is because the general public don't speak the language of finance and those in the finance industry don't often approach it the way she is. A lot of the times it feels pretty gate-kept.
I agree finance should be accessible to everyone... this isn't exactly the approach I would take but if it helps people then it's valuable!
Never thought about how our stories of money dictate how we think about money!
I never thought I'd hear a TEDx talk with a mix of finance and music, but somehow it worked! Lol a refreshing approach for sure
Your comparison of financial language to Shakespeare made me chuckle, but it’s also very true. More professionals should take note and simplify their communication
Definitely a good attempt at making finance more approachable but I think there's a reason it's historically been reserved for people with a knack for numbers...
thats talent😄😄😄
I think the concept of using games and music to engage people in finance is innovative, but I wonder how practical it is for everyone... some people are up for the challenge and might actually prefer that traditional kind of "serious" approach
The song was a little tough to listen to, but she's definitely engaging.
What would be beautiful is if people didnt have to worry about shares and stocks and investment properties just to live a comfortable life
How can you make something that does so much harm beautiful?
Yeah I think everyone is a little ashamed that they don't have a better handle on their money.
I’m not sure I agree with the idea that finance needs to be ‘beautiful.’ It’s a serious business, and I worry that oversimplifying it could lead to misunderstandings or poor decisions.

Damn the audience making it real tough on her at the start lol
