Nice video Sylvia. I do understand you frustration with different sizes. I like the B6 Slim. I have been using it for the past 3 or 4 months. I like it so much that I made a monthly calendar, a set of inserts that are a week on 2 pages dated, and even dot grid, drid, and blank inserts. I do know that Alexis at Growing Up Goddess has quite a few things in the B6 Slim size. A check book register, her hobonichi style day on a page, a monthly calendar, and even a few others. There are some things but with it not being a standard size in America, it is much more in Japan, it will always be a little more work to find what you need.

John Rush Thanks, John! I have seen your awesome inserts and will be trying them out in 2018! Yes, she has B6 Slim but she doesn’t have the B6 size. This is the struggle. I will of course work with it, but wish that the options included both sizes as I want to go back and forth.

B6slim is actually a common book size in Japan. One of their more popular sizes. There are many Etsy shops that sell b6slim. And nanami paper sells b6slim (their cafe notes) and midori (midori md) comes in b6slim too.
B6 is crazy easy to find. They sell it all over amazon and I find at target, Marshall’s, staples, tjmaxx, b&n etc locally.

I just wanted to share the fact that because of this video, I am now the happy owner of 7 Odd Girl b6 Slim Craft Folders, 2 B6 Slim TN inserts and 5 TN inserts that I had turned into Travelers Notebooks + 1 wallet TN!!! I love, love, love them!!!
    Thank you so much!!! 🙌🤸🙌

The struggle is the exact reason that I haven’t ventured off into other TN sizes too much. I have a standard/narrow & a5 TN that I got off of amazon. The seller I brought the TNs from also has inserts for the sizes & they are pretty affordable so it works. I wanted an a6, b6, & I considered a personal size TN but not being able to find inserts is what stopped me. Instead of getting an a6, I decided to get a pocket plus cause I can easily get inserts on amazon. I gave up on the idea of getting a personal size TN since I never see inserts in that size. I still kind of want a b6 but I don’t know if I will ever get one.

CollegeGirlKEY I like that there are so many options for A5; however, I can’t make it my everyday carry. The weight makes me unhappy, but the standard worked for me for a long time. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I appreciated your bringing up the financial aspect. I can’t afford to do what a lot of these girls do. I also have wondered how they have managed. 😂. I started making my own inserts. They are certainly not as nice as bought ones. But the price is right!! 😂❤️

I agree. I have become creative by buying single sheet cardstock and 1 to 2 yards of fabric instead of the paperpack that way I get exactly what I want and I'll also buy a planner or journal I like paper wise and cut it down to fit and like you, it's not as nice as all the premade stuff but it still works.

My favorite Tomoe River Paper insert from Taroko Shop is no longer available in Personal size. UGH! I feel your pain! I LOVE my Pocket TN. It's my favorite (feel, color...it's SO CUTE!), but it's a little small for taking notes or for brain dumping. B6 Slim in a great size for note taking, but when you add 3+ inserts, it can get a little heavy and takes up a lot of purse space. I think the Personal is a perfect EDC size, but I can't find the inserts that I love in that size. Once again, Planner Peace is beyond my reach. I love A6 too, but finding Tomoe River Paper inserts that I like in that size is even MORE problematic. [sigh*]. I think I'm a Pocket gal...with B6 needs.

Same issue here. I got a B6 Slim last May, and sold it in July. I need to get inserts easily and fast. I love Etsy sellers but dated weeklies/dailies don’t work for me. Finally gave up and now only stick to A6, B6 and A5 dotted notebooks. My favorites are Stalogy and Leuchtturm, with a monthly dated calendar from Paper and Cats for forward planning. Works awesome and those sizes are very easy to find.

I had the same issue with personal and B6 Slim (which I loved!) so I decided to stick with standard B6 because I've had better luck finding books locally, on Amazon, and in Barnes & Noble. I remember reading somewhere that B6 Slim is actually Midori standard/regular/narrow but just 1" shorter so that's what I do--cut them down an inch. Also, it fits the Hobonichi Weeks PERFECTLY. As for B6, just remember the dimensions 5" x 7" and that's what I look for in stores. Moleskine now makes a Two-Go notebook that's a B6 size and I've found other B6 books in local stores and online from brands I'm not familiar with (it's more of a global standard). I have 2 gorgeous Sojourners B6 Slim TNs that I'm trying to find uses for but have had better luck with my B6 TNs. I feel ya girl---the struggle is real! Hope you have better luck than I did!!!

      @SylviaWithAPlan  7 років тому

Lil Divette Thanks so much for the info😊 I will look for the Moleskine notebook. Yes, the B6 Slim is the same as the standard but an inch and a quarter shorter. The B6 is the same as a Wide just an inch and a quarter shorter! Thanks for watching!

Nice video! I have a TN regular size midori, but I'm wondering about a b6 I was hoping you would have shown them side by side,if it not to much trouble could you measure the b6 folded in half? Sometimes in videos it's really hard to tell
And by the way..... I love the Tardis charm because the colour when I first saw it was hey! Dr Who blue lol

Yes! The struggle is real! Being in Australia, there's even less B6 Slim insert suppliers around my neck of the woods. I did an unboxing video on my channel for my Chic Sparrow recently and I've already had to contact a few different Etsy sellers to see if they'd be willing to make some B6 Slim inserts for me, but it's possible that I'll have to pay extra as it's sort of a customisable order. Oh well, I still love the B6 Slim size but it is hard not to feel discouraged! Thanks for this video, I love the navy blue string, it really makes your leather pop! :D

That’s exactly why I didn’t last in B6 slim. I still make B6 work, because I can find notebooks that are 5x7’ish. If I can’t find a workable insert in store somewhere, it’s probably not going to work for me...Even when I’m buying printable or printed inserts! It’s a “just in case” thing lol Cause I haaaaate making inserts

My only problem with b6 slim is that it's not the same across brands. Midori b6 slim doesn't equal nanami b6 slim doesn't equal jibun b6 slim, etc etc. So I guess instead of a travelers notebook for b6 slim, I gravitate towards a folio and 'one notebook' philosophy with b6 slim books.

I think getting a b6 size tn is my biggest regret for 2019. Should have stuck with a midori standard. Getting b6 size inserts are near impossible to find in my area. I think every one who says the b6 is very popular is either a vendor in etsy or just rying to sell their b6 leather covers. A video that some one needs to make is "what size tn is easy to shop for." All in all, stay away from b6. If you have money and patience (like patience to wait weeks for orders from etsy to come in) by all means do it. I decided on a b6 notebook after two months of deciding what to get. Ordered a b6 leather cover through chic on March 5th. Recieved the cover March 9. Ordered inserts (no one had any in San Diego) on etsy the same day. Spent close to over $200 (could have bought two midori filled notebooks and be able to start using it). And as of March 23rd of this writing, still waiting for my damn order. And my leather cover is seating unused. My advice for anyone looking to get into tn, stick with an a5, midori standard, or a passport size. Everything else is a complete joke.

  • @CeraChonaill

IT IS NOT A STRUGGLE. It is an annoyance yes but so not a struggle. As someone moving from Filofax Malden Personal (after 5 years) to B6 Slim Highlander (same leather dimensions as Malden) I get the annoyance finding inserts when you want the convenience of not having to make it yourself. Those that consider this a 'struggle' have rather cushy lives. Completely agree that its is an annoyance for early adapters but that is the nature for those that chose to be early adapters in most things.
