    What kind of olive pit sculpture do you want?

      No matter what the design, I would be honored to own one of those!
      I have to admit though, the carving of the woman, her dress/robes looked like they were flowing, absolutely gorgeous!

    I remember back in the 60's in Sha Tin ,10000 Buddha monastery. The olive pits carvings were sold as souvenir. I m glad you bring this art alive and well. Thank you for keeping this arts and skills alive.

    Many years ago there was an exhibition of Chinese craft persons in a local mall. I was very impressed by the fine quality of what they were offering.
    My Mon bought a small bottle, with a painting on the inside walls of the bottle, the bottle is about 2cm high and the neck is not 0.5 cm in diameter.
    I bought an image made from cut out paper, it is about 1 meter by 30 cm and incredible details have been cut by hand on the paper to represent a traditional scenery.

    So beautiful to see the process. What a passionate family. I hope there will be inspiration for the grandson to carve as well.

    In Dresden (Saxony, Germany) there you can see a tiny cherry seed with 19 faces carved in ❤️

      Sorry I just re-read, last counting was 113 faces, though originally there should be much more on it but countings could not find them all

      @@katrinlausch3078 any idea what is it called?

    • @katrinlausch3078
      @katrinlausch3078 2 роки тому +1

      Sure: in the city of Dresden there is a museum called "Grünes Gewölbe" and just search for "Kirschkern". I sm sure there are information in Englisch if you put in the museum's name and "cherry stone with 185 carved heads" (official name).

      @@katrinlausch3078 cool, thanks.
      The museum should include a high-res photo or close-up.

      Intended! Thiefs (big desaster some not too long ago, robbers stole lots of highly valuablr items!) and copycats. You may contact the museum to get details, not unusual.
