I borrowed my buddy's GRND-POD for a minute and wasn't quite a fan of all the plastic parts on it. I personally would save up a bit more and get an Atlas over that. I also agree most clamps suck compared to the RRS/Area419, but I have been impressed with the gen 2 CKYE-POD clamp. It's also arca+pic compatible and much smoother to operate than their previous gen 1.
I just looked at the MDT webpage and I assume you're referring to the BTC clamp. I hadn't noticed that one before. Yes, that looks to be a good option for dual clamp and the clamp knob doesn't look like it would get in the way. I'd have to see the compatibility against the wide foreend of the Matrix Pro or anything with side weights to get an idea of the knob clearance issues.
I also just looked at Accutac again, and I noticed they switched to a lever release arca (looks to be in-house built). Before, they used a very long Podloc-style lever but it was essentially a knob/twist clamp. I may get an Accutac sometime.

In this video, I made a statement about Accutac bipod Arca clamps and how I did not like them. The Accutac Arca clamps I was referring to are the ones where the clamp itself is loosened/tightened using a twisting action (like a knob clamp), but they have a long Podloc-style lever.
I visited the Accutac webpage this morning and discovered they switched to a lever release clamp (looks to be an in-house design). With this in mind, my take on Accutac bipods will be reassessed, and I may actually acquire an Accutac (Arca) to try out.
I have a Modular Evolution bipod which is similar to the Atlas but with carbon fiber legs which I like really well.
Also have two Gen 2 MDT CYKE Pods, the Heavy Duty and Triple Pull.
My MDT heavy duty is by far my favorite of the three. Haven't even used the triple pull and hope to sell it, just too big! Good video, Jonathan!
Jonathan, what does the GRND pod weigh compared to a harris with an ADM or Pic mount?
I don't have a Harris weighed, but a GRND-POD ARMS17s is 1lb 10 ounces with no clamp and 2lb 2 ounces with the RRS ARMS-LR.
@@ocabj does it feel heavier than the Harris?
@@5RWill Not sure. Could be heavier. If you look online, Harris SBRM is cited at 13 ounces.
What is the best value arca rail bipod?
Maybe an Atlas with an Area419 clamp or the GNRD-POD with the factory arca clamp.
