But they do not show those places because social media algo only promotes negative of India and demotes positivity. most of the time they only show ugly parts of delhi and Mumbai especially old Delhi and Dharavi. showing slums, scams and unhygienic street food of india Mantra of success in UA-cam. positive videos like this about India hardly reaches Indians forget foreigners.

You are one of the modest and humblest Americans I've ever come across. India is not a perfect place by any means, and has its pros and cons. Have a wonderful time in India. I echo the earlier comment, and yes, you are one of my favorite travel vloggers. This coming from an NRI living in the US.
In India the planning starts after which it takes 2 decades to start the project but the fun part is that the population has doubled by the time the project gets completed which is 2 decades later i.e. 4 decades in total thus defeating the purpose which the project was meant to tackle
Thank you, Gabe. I'm on my way back to Rishikesh in December. I've spent three or four months there. It took 14 years for the new bridge, downstream from Ram Jhula to be built. It's called Janki Setu. It has three lanes, two for scooters and one for walkers, no cars. I've heard all kinds of things about the new bridge, but it doesn't even look like the towers are finished. For longer stays there are many guest houses on the other side from where you are staying. Many brand new hotels as well, upscale with no spiders. I can't wait to get back, truly a wonderful place.
India will always be high on the list of favorite countries! I have been only two times (1996, 3 months and 2017, about a week on my way to do the EBC trek in Nepal). Have to do much more exploring.

The longer u stay the lower will be the rent... Book online u will get better rates... And Spider will not be there if u book better rooms... Budget rooms might gift u spider as well😊..
Try to visit the lesser known places in India Gabe. We all know that no one likes all the noise and garbage in the metropolitan cities. Even we don't like it. Being from Assam I'd recommend you to visit Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, Majuli Festival in Assam (Majuli is the biggest river island in the world and it is rich in culture) and Cherry Blossom Festival in Meghalaya. All of these festivals are just around the corner. I personally will be heading to the hills of Nagaland to attend Hornbill Festival this December. Cheers and safe travels!!

I couldn't wait to leave Delhi either when i visited, twice! In my hotels, literally every floor and staircase had piles of poop laying around. Rishikesh was amazing, and i stayed there longer than in any other place in India.
Delhi is the worst place in India. Moreover why did you stay in Old Delhi? South Delhi, Central District, Aerocity are super modern and extremely clean. Why didn't you spend time in these places?

Look old delhi is very old and congested and due to its old buildings and narrow streets it's hard to renovate. You can definitely avoid the pahadganj area and can stay in a well and modern un-congested places like in and around delhi-ncr. Mostly foreign tourists visit the cities in golden triangle like jaipur, agra, varanasi and delhi and think that they visited the whole but the natural and raw Indian beauty lies within different parts of India from north to south and from north east to west. Do visit some of these places and you will find the Richness of different cultures, different food, clothing, traditions, places, etc😊
I was there last year in march , amazing place. One of the two places where i felt like taking a dip in Ganges ,other being Haridwar. Amazing, keep it going.

I've been up there many times, to Uttarkashi, Gangnani, Joshimath and over to Almora and Nainital. But it's not happening this trip, change of plans. That will be explained in the next video.

This was a very enjoyable walk. The lady doing footprinting at 31:23 was the type of vendor I had expected to see more of in India. I also expected to see more cow and dog manure on the streets, so that must be cleaned up regularly.
Here is something right up your alley that would be a great video. In Rishikesh, it is called Astha path, nice recently renovated walking path that meanders around the Ganga river. Google map it!

Thanks Gabriel, great to see Rishikesh again, it doesn't look like a lot has changed since I visited 10 years ago. More white water rafters perhaps, the Shiva statue is back in place after getting washed away in floods and obviously the new bridge and Laxman being rebuilt. How does it feel to you? There is a great path up into the forest, near the Beatles Ashram. It climbs up to a Shiva Temple and has great views over the Ganga and Rishikesh towards Haridwar on the way. You've maybe walked it before. Hope you're staying in India for a while or if not, Nepal....🙏
Hey Gabriel, if you don't have many plans, let me suggest you to come back to madhya pradesh, i think you haven't visited Amarkantak yet, also you have Jabalpur and Bhopal which I think can satisfy your urge to see old architecture and history. Right next to Madhya Pradesh is Chattisgarh, I don't know much about it but there are a few very less known Palaces and forts, chattisgarh literally translates to 36 forts, and then you can head onto Odisha, I think you already know what you will get to see there but for those who don't, Odisha has some of the Best eastern architecture in all of India, also it wasn't as disecreted by the invaders as the monuments in North India, also at this time of the year the weather their is very tropical-esque , I think you will love it.
Love your spider story. I had a spider in one of my rooms in India, pretty good sized. It would come out of the small crack between the bed and the floor and look at me then run back under the bed when I spotted it. Didn't seem like it was anything to worry about, just a curious little creature.

I see markets like tilak nagar dwarka rajouri garden lakhshmi nagar hauz khas dont get many foreign travellers people seem to just come to old delhi or maybe Connaught place as its popular amongst them they miss the other parts of delhi
Funny spider story. Have the same when I was in Chuao, Venezuela. Was in my hotel and there were huge spiders on the wall and slept with the lights on fearing if they were off they might attack. Also in San Pedro de la Laguna, Guatemala I was in bed and lookup and a scorpion was walking down the wall where my head was and and smashed it with my shoe.
the gnat type flies generally are prevalent around Diwali time. This infestation lasted maybe until like 3 days ago, now its all cool..atleast in the part of delhi that im in.

You should do some trekking in India like how you did Annapurna, or everest. Have you done Nanda Devi trek? Or something like Kachenjunga Trek

Funny spider story. Have the same when I was in Chuao, Venezuela. Was in my hotel and there were huge spiders on the wall and slept with the lights on fearing if they were off they might attack. Also in San Pedro de la Laguna, Guatemala I was in bed and lookup and a scorpion was walking down the wall where my head was and and smashed it with my shoe.

the gnat type flies generally are prevalent around Diwali time. This infestation lasted maybe until like 3 days ago, now its all cool..atleast in the part of delhi that im in.
