I'm so happy to see someone besides a chinese company provide free shipping
I love how happy you are flying that thing
That's what I like about Andrews vids too. That little "hehe" chuckle and a "Lovely!". :)
Yes the location helps to lift the mood too.
That would make a great club build.
A few of them racing up and down the slope would be good fun .
Oh yeah!
glad to see you at the slope. looks like a great little wing.
Love the wings , brings back the childhood memories of glow plug engines and control wire flying
What a stunner!
Really tight and responsive glider. Those figure eights were awesome!
Thanks a lot!
looks super nice and for quick building
peter wick is helping me with the aerodynamics of a mouldy style plank
it's pretty similar to the gizmo
Looks like you was having a lot of fun with that wing. That wing seems to fly great. 👍
It is a winner!
Excellent plane and love the cats !
Looks great... and so light !!!
It is!
Nice, does look like a balsa Alula. Very clean lines. I think 20-25% on elevator is plenty at least on the Alula it's plenty such a pitch sensitive plane. Definitely a mind machine.
Awesome Flights!
The thing looks like a Blade, Yum.
Great show Andino.
Thanks 👍
lovely slope wing great video
Thanks a lot!
Andrew: "I've never owned a properly designed plank for slope soaring". Me: :jaw drops: How is that possible??? LOL!
Ha! Saturated with FPV review models
Very cool bird you got here....
Also I wanted to thank you personally... your jumper how to videos have helped me a great deal ...thx keep up the great work sir!!
Glad I could help
What a lovely design. In your hands it's flying like a sea bird, dancing on air.
Yes, exactly
Excellent video and a nice model. Looks like a bit of Charles Fauvels AV36. A foam version would be great for balsa hesitant flyers like me.
That would be cool!
Man you happy. GREAT
just received my Shaka in the mail today and only 13 days to au very fast delivery but it will be a while to build as its my first balsa.
Excellent. Hope the build is easy enough
I like it! Very tempted to buy one.
You should!
Looks like a well designed little wing you got there. Looks really fun.
Yes, a delight
Great stuff Andrew, like me, you are happiest when sloping! :)
High places, wind in the face. Cant beat it.
Спасибо! Очень красиво и хорошо полетал!
That looked fun :-)
Excellent Video and Slope Gliding Nice model thanks for Video 👍
Thanks 👍
Boy they have an attractive website!
Looks like this one can be added to your top 10 list!
Yes, it's even beautiful hanging on the wall
Hi Andrew! Long time no see! Winter in Norway makes it imperative to see som Ozzy summer. Keep flying!
Welcome back. Another month before I can unpack all my gliders but nothing will stop the flying after that.
Thanks Andrew now I have to buy another glider. Already pre ordered one.
Good choice!
top !!!!
The plane look very... Freak. But flight great. Very good video, Andrew. Regards. And thanks for sharing.
Many thanks!
Hi Andrew, I have been looking for a good slope wing and because of your review I have just pre ordered and paid for 3 of them, one for me and the others for flying mates, I also mentioned to them that it was because of your review that I brought them, I can't wait for them to arrive!
That is excellent Andrew. Evgen will be pleased. I'm sure you will love the Shaka
@@AndrewNewton I really am, guys! Thanks so much for your support!
In Indiana we have flat lands but we always seem to have 🌬 winds! So I’m going to try one of your type flyer! It will soon be here !!!
Good luck.
If you ever get a chance, the Wisel Light S by Dane RC is another great balsa plank for slope soaring.
In that case the Miro Run of Sebald Modellbau in Germany would also be a great candidate to review. Miro Run will probably outperform both Wisel and Shaka by a streetlength.
Great stuff!! I’ve never flown a wing before so do you have a video explaining how to program a transmitter for wings? And how to setup reflex ect? Thank you.
Look for elevon mix
The way you were holding the Pink end??
Hard to believe that this Glider made it to Oz intact!!!
I would like to see the Razor flyin the beach under similar conditions.
Great Kiting Andrew..
Haha, years of experience
Very cool... I wonder if you could make a central DlG rudder type balsa section and glue in a hardpoint on a wing for dlg... That would be awesome..2 in 1 glider
Glad you liked it. In case you asked, this is already in progress. instagram.com/p/COcmm1kLdR0/?igshid=l200s1pymjk7 Might be featured in the V2 kit
@@flightpointrc Excellent !!! That would be a welcome addition...
gorgeous.. plane's not bad either xP
Hehe, thanks
Would you say this is a good first balsa build? I've only designed / built foam planes, but this looks sooo nice
Yes great first balsa. Small size and well thought out kit.
Regards good day
🔥😍👍
Hey andrew have you seen the diatone fixed wing I just came across it and looks pretty cool.
Link?
Cool! I like the look of it. And the way it packs down. I wonder if, like the Alula, it can be used for dlg?
Possibly!
@@AndrewNewton That's exciting, then. Balsa, packs small, slope or flat field... ticks a lot of boxes for me.
Ha! Those Ukrainian models are beautiful 0:17 😅
Please try a xbow...
Great video. Just started flying my Shaka in anger. What camera setup are you using in the video?
Thanks, it's a fun little plank. Hatcam link in the description
Should make a great DLG .... thoughts?
Would need tip reinforcing, but yes.
Hey Andrew, just looking at your builds and didn't see if you use UBECs instead of ESCs for slopers. Is that only an advantage for light planes?
I use both, doesn't really matter for small and medium gliders.
Was hoping your review included video of Shaka when the walls fell.
😂😂😂🖖
Ha, had to search for that
Hahaha, awesome! I remember that episode!
I kept looking at the sign on the beach.......and wondered how far apart the posts were, the wing was 900, I reckon it would fit......... *-)) good price for the wing,
Should have tried, there is a handy bin there if I failed.
Looks a lot like a smaller version of the JW Slope gliders...
I would really like to do some hang gliding, but despite living in a rolling landscape, I was not yet able to find a suitable spot. Can you make a video of how to find suitable spots away from the coast?
I did some hang gliding about 40 years ago. There might be a map of suitable sites if you look for hang gliding clubs
Always best to join a local club. They will have agreements with landowners and will therefore have good gliding sites available that you would not have access to otherwise. Also much safer to get a site- introduction from someone that knows it’s good spots and bad (dangerous) spots. They will also be able to help you learn safely, if they have a member that is a qualified instructor, or otherwise point you to a suitable HG- School.
Where is cg located? How many from leading edge
Did you miss it in the video?
Remarkably flutter free design.
Looks a fun little wing but not sure how long balsa would last in my hands! Time you ordered a Gulp DS60 or M60 :-) ua-cam.com/video/grnNvrSNwMM/v-deo.html
bayraktar
It's cool and all, but some times you can get a Hook UGlider on Banngood for 70 bucks shipped, not sure 60-70 even for a balsa kit is worth it for this one.
Need both
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 can't bring myself to say it.....
Balsa built alula clone.
similar
Balsa wood models fly better than foam....Tell me I'm wrong,...I dare you....lol....🤔🤔🤔😳😳😳😯😯😀🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Only if the balsa model is well thoughtout, precisely built and light-weight.
@@EricLaermans kind of like the foam model then... so all other things being equal, balsa outperforms foam.
@@EricLaermans You're not familiar with real Aeromodelling are you...?....lol...🤔😀🇬🇧
@@MeshJedi The space in between the balsa-ribs combined with covering can pose a challenge. If one uses balsa sheeting for the wings more precision is obtained, which makes better performing wings. In Holland XPS-foam with balsa-sheeting is used (like Arthobby does). Lightweight combined with accuracy and good performance.
@@EnglishTurbines No, not at all. :)
