I'm sure somebody already mentioned "keu kotha rakheni!"..... if not, I'd like to request you to listen to it.... not for the reaction (thought it'd be great) but for the enjoyment of the beautiful journey (musical and spiritual) as a fellow music lover.
You guys should definitely check out Shada by Minar. My personal favorite from him. Also, much more old school than Jhoom or Deyale Deyale.

If I am not wrong the word Bengali was introduced by the British as they found it easier to pronounce than Bongo or Bangla. I appreciate that you used the word Bangla instead of Bengali.
Even though you're writing it in a British language and they are talking in British language. Don't be rational because names aren't rational. It's their channel, let them do it the way they love to do it.
My favourite Minar Song is "Deyale Deyale". Pls React on that song, pls
The word "Bengali" was introduced by the British rulers who found it easier to pronounce instead of "Bangla". "Bangali" refers to the people/nation who speak "Bangla". So the people of Bangladesh and some parts of India are "Bangali". "Bangladeshi" ofcourse refers to the people of Bangladesh.
Finally someone mentions this. I see so many people use Bengali for language and ethnicity. It is wrong and makes me furious when deshis use the incorrect terms.
Not really. "Bengal" is the anglicization of Bangal, which comes from the persianized official name Bangalah (as in Sultanate Bangalah or Sube Bangalah) during the Muslim rule. Before that, we see Banga or Vanga (even Vangadesam) as a generalized name of the Gauda region, although the boundaries of Vanga kingdom excluded most of the present day Bangladesh (Shamatat/Varendra/Pundra/ part of Kamrup etc).
@@omarsabih yes. we are not banglali because we speak bangla. we are bangali cause we live in bongo. bangali means residents of bongo. maybe it's "Purbo Bongo" or "Poshchim Bongo"

@@bipra6032 where they live, that's not included in Bongo. take a simple example. Chinese are not Chinese because they speak Chinese. in fact their language is Mandarin. they are Chinese because they live in China. Same goes for Barmiz. because they are from Barma or Myanmar.
you guys are right on bangla, bangali and bangladeshi.. but why you guys haven't react to any tahsan song. he is a very very good singer.
"Jhoom" is a bangla metaphorical word for crazy rain or heavy rain... Basically the sound fo heavy rain.
Have a listen to Aha Re by Minar Rahman. You will feel the emptiness in his voice and the way hi pronounces 'Aha Re'... feels so deep.
We who talk in bangla and lives in bengal ,we call us bangali{Bangladesh(East bengal) and west Bengal}
By nationality we are bangladeshi.our Mother tongue is bangla.A lot of people live in our country who are not Bengalis because the don't speak bangla.

Hi, I'm from Bangladesh.
...You gonna like the Gaan Bangla version of this song right away, when it starts with that beautiful double-guitar (mandolin) tone!!
I think, one main difference of this verion from the original one is that,, it provides complete "Acoustic" composition. Whether the original track gets a little apart from Acoustic to digital synthesized sound. Like reverb, widening sounds in some areas etc. Minar sang the same way he did in his original one. It's difficult. Coz in live or unplugged verion singers usually avoid doing "Tremelo".. Like,, extended notes, the softening, Vibrato, mild throwing these sort of things when they sing (exception - classical singers).
Because its tough to stay in tune in that process. Can be off-pitched. But Minar Rahman had chosen the difficulties. Kept it unchanged.
I hope u gonna enjoy the vibe. Also the way that double-guitar guy "mutes" his line(notes) on his play is very pleasing to listen. Hope u will enjoy it.

Actually, we liked the Gaan Bangla version more than original, mostly because Minar's voice and his truer skill was on display, as you have very correctly noted, artists sometimes hold themselves back when singing live, but not Minar, no! He has such believe and confidence on his abilities (as he should), it was spilling in his performance. One more thing to note, we love to watch the facial expression when an artist sings/performs live, it says so so much about the artist themselves, how much effort they have to put in, are they in their comfort zone, how the emotions translating into the voice and notes, etc. With official music video, we dont get to see it.
And we love how you have broken down the elements you have noted and their description. Sinan on Baglama (Saz) accentuates the melody proper, one of the highlights of the Gaan Bangla version.

These songs got very unsual compositions, which you don't get to listen to very often. Specially first two songs, Habib's you may not say.
Three beautiful compositions with emotions and Ambience that created by the sounds..!! ..Good to me, atleast. May be you will find it other way. But I'm SUPER CONFIDENT that you will like it..

Bangladeshi is the nationality but Bangali/Bengali is the ethnicity of Bengali-speaking (Bangla speaking) people.
Bengalis live primarily in Bangladesh and West Bengal, Tripura, Assam in India. After Partition of Bengal, Bengalis got divided between India and Bangladesh (formerly East Bengal)

Brothers, Minar's cousin is Tahsan, i think you have already seen his name in other comments. Tahsan has many haters as well as fans. You can try his songs as well. My favorite album of Tahsan is "Kothopokothon". That was released back in 2004. That was a hit back then. Another latest young talent is 'Pritam Hassan'. He is creating latest hits. Try him.
You are correct about 'bangali', 'bangla' and 'bangladeshi'. But there is a big Bangla area in India too. We Bangladeshis call them 'Indian Bangali' from 'west bengal'. They also speak 'Bangla' in a different dialect. In total Bangla region (india+BD), I dont know how many dialects are there, but i have experienced 12-15 in my life. West Bengal have beautiful songs too. You can listen to their songs too. Salam.
Both Bengali and Bangla are correct. Especially, 'Bengali' is appropriate mentioning it in a non-Bengali language. Most language or country has a native form and a foreign form. That's why we pronounce 'Argentina' and not 'Arhentina'; Korea, not Hanguk, India, not Bharat, Parsian, not Farsee, French, not Frnausses (difficult to spell!), Spanish, not Espaniol. You should not be sorry.

Sounds 'F(kh)ansey' ! Theres no R sound in french, they call R 'akh', and pronounces 'kh'. You will hear 'Khonaldo' instead of 'Ronaldo', when a french commentator is commentating.
Btw, this 'kh' sounds like সিলেটি খ ! (Tongue touches the posterior part of upper palate).
we don't need a foreign version, calling the language "Bangla" can be done by most people, It's the most authentic name for the language, even Americans would be able to pronounce it
