  • Live on midnight special. This song's originally from "Modern Man", 1978. Jeff Beck played on the original, Ray Gomez replaces him here. This disco meets fusion meets powerpop part of Stanley's career may be a bit questionable but this song's a screamer. And the basshook is sort of schooldays backwards, cool

NOBODY can beat or equal Jeff Beck.
But Ray Gomez gets a "10" for his virtuosity here!

Stanley Clarke, Hendrix, and Buddy Rich all in one band. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME

This is Stanley's main Alembic (famous brown bass ) tuned in regular bass in which he revolutionized the instrument and the world.

I'd say JOHN ENTWISTLE did that!

@@motorcitymanman7711 John was an excellent player particularly in the Rock world, but he wasn’t in the same league as Stanley Clarke. In bass circles that wouldn’t even be up for serious debate.

I disagree and most Bassists would disagree also. There's a reason Entwistle was known as "Thunderfingers" he played the base like a LEAD guitar! In fact he WAS a lead guitarist before The Who.

@@motorcitymanman7711 Now I want you to go online and even here on UA-cam and type the 10 greatest or most influential bassist of the history of the bass instrument. Tell me how many time John is mentioned and how many times Stanley is mentioned then get back to me.
