  • Hi everyone,
    one of the most useful mechanisms for many Lego applications are so-called reciprocation mechanisms or pistons. There are a lot of ways to do that, so here are 7 additonal mechanisms to the first video I've published quite a while ago ( • 5 Lego Technic Piston ... ).
    Enjoy watching,
    2in1

      Useless comment
      (I felt like I had to say that because it’s a useless machine…. )
      I’m going to figure out how I can use that in a moc. What’s that simple dance move that’s in style right now?

    The "coin paradox" video that Veritasium released not too long ago helped me understand why your geared piston has a 1:4 (3+1) reduction. Or maybe it's the other way around. The way you presented it, it hardly feels paradoxical at all.
    Also, the scotch yoke reminded me that I tried scotch eggs for the first time last month. They weren't very tasty, but at least they had scotch yolks.

    number 6 is how many hydraulic and pneumatic mechanisms achieve oscillation, but with reversing triggers at either end of travel instead of one in the middle

    I wanted to make a robot like a rock-em-sock-em, but found out I had slightly different Lego pieces than what I needed. I was so shattered.

    Do you have some examples for praktikal use?

    • @in1
      @in1  4 місяці тому +1

      The biggest use are the pistons in engines, but in the Lego context it's also pretty useful for anything that has to do with moving stuff, like if you wanted to build a robot that toggles a light switch or a carousel with moving figures or something like that

    Yeah, I don't like the music either. Better just keep keep noises as different people have different choices at different time of day.

    • @in1
      @in1  5 місяців тому +15

      The thing is that only hearing the Lego noises is pretty similar to just muting it... You might hear a pin click every 20 seconds, but in general it's pretty boring. I know that there are also some people who like it with music, so I think I might try abusing the audio track (language) feature so that you can select, idk, portugese to hear the sounds without music.

      @@in1 oh, that's a cool idea!

    • @in1
      @in1  4 місяці тому +4

      Turns out the audio feature is only available for randomly selected creators, so I'll have to wait for that one. The problem is now that I'm getting comments of people who enjoy the music, and others who don't, so I'm not really sure what to do. I'll prolly keep the music, and if you don't want it you'll have to press mute, because to be honest that's pretty close to the experience without music (at least in my editing software). Might be possible to get a better "asmr" sound design to work for bigger creators, but I'll have to keep my balance between editing and building, so I'll probably can't make such edits in a reasonable time.
