    These are great mechanisms. Just wanna point out that these are oscillating mechanisms. "Continuously reversing" suggests the output only moves in the opposite direction as the input.

    I can see that last one being useful for a GBC mechanism that doesn't need to lock, but _does_ need "dead" time at each end of its travel to let balls roll on and off (probably 30, the standard maximum, to maintain a rate of 1bps or so).

    You can do #3 with a switch, and make it a lot simpler.

    • @in1
      @in1  2 роки тому +8

      Yep, the simple reason I didn't use a switch was that I lent both of my switches to a friend :) But I just wanted to give ideas anyways, so it didn't matter that much

    These builds are great! Though, I would definitely like to suggest that you back the camera up and give yourself a little more frame room in future videos. It's tough watching you fumble over everything to get it in frame!

    the third one reminds me of the early day power functions. You can connect two of these little square motors with one wire and the other one will turn when you turn one. That was back when the lego computer thing was still called the RCX.

      When the lever is in the middle, it doesn't give any signal to the motor, so it stops... But by adding a rubber band mechanism it could work

    Really very ingenious mechanism, congratulations. Concerning model #5, I would like to use it to lift and lower a weight, but during the rotation change, if the weight is up, the axle is not anchored and therefore everything falls down. How can I avoid this? Thanks!

    • @in1
      @in1  День тому

    You don’t need to use a remote controller and receiver for that one, there is a lego power functions switch which does that and even has an axle hole running through the lever. It has a port on it to plug in a motor and a wire to connect to the battery, no need for the big bulky pieces

    • @in1
