Those windows look amazing, I love that they are symmetrical now too, will be so nice to look out of while you're working at your countertops! Can't wait to see the next steps and how the next attempt at the self levelling floor goes!! 🤞
The tiles are called 'encaustic tiles'. I've tried to rescue them a few times here in Greece and I think normally about 50% break on being lifted. You did well! They are very expensive to buy new. The originals can be even more expensive. These look like 1970s ones and maybe not so common as they went out of fashion around then. They would be amazing in a mid-century modern-style house but I'm not sure they will fit with your farm vibe. I might get shot for writing this but if you sold them for a good price they would still be saved but you could buy something more in your style. Also with the floor... It might be best to go right back to the beams and put floorboards in. Good luck that's all such hard work.
Oh well done on getting these windows installed. They are beautiful too! But what a nightmare of these tiles....! I'm sure you'll overcome the next floor situation, and great job at saving so many of the orange ones 😊 It's going to be a beautiful home before you know it! Keep at it. Can't waut to see the next video!
Thank you. We’re glad we managed to save so many in the end. Surely we’ll have enough for a small project somewhere, and it will be a nice reminder of all the hard work and problem solving 😅😂
The delights of finding yeso hidden behind covered walls, it is great for setting pipes and conduit but nothing structural and it loves to absorb moisture which then destroys it.
We have the same with terrazzo tiles luckily on the ground floor though there are going to be a devil to get up. I've since seen some Spanish builders laying tile and they did one layer of concrete bedding the tiles in as they went, so there's not a proper concrete subfloor at all... good luck and well done with your progress.
OMG they are a nightmare. The nature of them being a conglomerate means they just break up into so many pieces!! 🙄 Good luck when you get to yours! Hopefully a bit easier on the ground floor 🤞🏻
Amazing amount of work progressed. Tiles are the pits to dig up.
Thank you. Wait until you see the next video….!! LOADS more to share 😁

Right?! It’s like they just think “what do I have to hand? Plaster. Sure, that’ll do” 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
So admire you tenacity..
