Ooh, the classic! Hitting the nostalgia, and hope you get into this show sometime.
Also, for a short summary, the phrase "Cowboy" is used in a relative sense here. Most of the series takes place in space, aka "the final frontier". There's heavy "wild west" and "film noir" themes thtoughout the story.

This looked like a great anime!
Its objectively one of the greatest series of all time not just anime. Seeing this on adult swim in the early 2000s as a teen was an amazing experience.
And still the most amazing anime soundtrack ever. Some individual pieces from others may surpass it, but as a whole it's nothing but bangers.
I first watched this, years ago on “Toonami “. A late night broadcasts from (USA) Cartoon Network. Where they would rotate random episodes from (not knowing it was) anime’s. It was something so different & intriguing to me. This anime was the one that nudged me back into watching this medium. Loved the antics & mayhem between our 3 MC’s : Spike, Faye & Jet. A trio of bounty hunters who team up out of reluctance, where the only thing they had in common was how much profit was the next bounty. Cowboys Bebop had been top favorites for a very long time.
You mean adult swim. Adult swim was replaced by toonami in 2012.

What would someone who has never seen the series go for? It captures the feel of an old-school live-action action movie, but in animated form. You swear you've seen scenes like this before, in some old movie, from deep in your memories. It seems so familiar, and yet, unlike anything you've ever seen.

Would highly recommend this one, probably my favorite show of all time
As someone who's been watching anime since the days of original Dragon Ball and has seen hundreds upon hundreds of anime, I can still say with certainty that this anime probably has the most beautiful ending I've ever seen in any anime. Consistently top 3 anime in general. Possibly some bias involved, but even so, attests to how crazy good it is man. Highly recommend checking it out
Cowboy Beebop is a vibe, a mood. A bop, you might say.
Cowboy Bebop was a gateway anime for so many in the US. It was played on repeat on Cartoon Network for years since 2001. Also a phenomenal English dub.

I watched Cowboy Bebop back when it premiered on Adult Swim. They don't make shows like this anymore. One of the rare occasions when the sub and dub are both equally excellent. It's an absolutely iconic show. You're right in that it's about bounty hunters. Basically them hunting a bad guy of the week. If you do end up watching it there will be several episodes that will just stick with you forever. And the ending is perfect. You're gonna carry that weight
Actually I never knew she'd composed the GitS SAC, but it kinda makes sense because those OPs with Origa are both amazing.
Imo, Cowboy Bebop is a shining example of the sci fi western genre. It's also a must watch anime. If your looking for an old school anime I can't suggest this one more. Only real criticism I can levy at it is it's very episodic at times. But still, most of the stories pull at whatever emotions they are going for very well.

It’s a SciFi spaghetti western, think if bladerunner mixed with Clint Eastwood and they made an anime
Not to mention the composer for the anime is S Tier with the music

Yoko Kano is a great music composer, another great music from her is the music of the Macros Pluss series.
The opening reminds me of the theme for "The Streets of San Francisco". A 70s crime series with Karl Malden and Michael Douglas.
One of the best English dubs in all of anime, better than the sub in every way honestly

For me, the most wonderful song from the whole series, is Space Lion. It's this really awesome, haunting, almost Vangelis (Bladerunner Blues) feel to it, coupled with some really uplifting child choral notes. It's an amazing song. Highly recommend giving it a listen.

If you want an AMAZING version of the ED song, I'd recommend giving the "Anime Gives Back Special Performance" a look. It was made during the lockdown and has loads of popular names showing up, including the shows original composer. It's on the Crunchyroll Dubs channel and really shouldn't be forgotten about :)

I love this anime forever! It's too astringent and cool! It will be completed in just one season, but nothing heavy and extra has been added! It's an anime that makes men all over the world paralyzed and crazy about it! If you want to watch it, be sure to watch it in the Japanese version! BGM and insert songs are also good!
Only show that can compete musically with Cowboy Bebop in my opinion is FLCL, since it featured the Pillows. There are plenty who view the Pillows as Japan's Beatles, so many good songs packed into a 5 episode series. But as for Cowboy Bebop, each episode features a different subgenre of music you can see in the episode title. Amazing show, from the writing to the voice acting, not hard to see why it is a classic.
On a side note, don't watch the netflix live action version, not good at all :p
Make sure to watch in dub if you start it. Its probably the best anime dub ever. And the ideal way of watching it imo
