I watched part 1 a few weeks ago and I finally watched part 2 just now. Just listening to Carl, you can tell what a truly humble man he really is and he is focused on working continuously to release quality music. I’m so glad he continued even though there were hurdles. When I start listening to Loose Ends it takes me to a world that is funk music bliss 🎹🎶♥️. I am very happy to say that on my brothers and my trip coming up to the UK late November and most of December we have spotted some tour dates. Now that’s a dream come true from someone from Australia. I really enjoyed this interview so very much! Your interviews are so interesting and entertaining.
This trip is really coming together! I really liked this interview. Carl was really open and wasn’t expecting to get two hours when we’d scheduled one, so grateful he could go into such depth! Thx for the comment (again)
@ it just shows that Carl really wanted to continue speaking with you and as you mentioned he was going into depth. I understand why these musicians enjoy being interviewed by you because you ask great questions and you are knowledgeable. I have more to catch up on and I’m looking forward to listening to them. As for the trip. It’s looking like music bliss between concerts/gigs and exhibitions.
Loose Ends definitely more appreciated in the USA than here in the UK.Check the audiences and see the difference when they performed their song Slow down on Soul Train in the States compared to their performance on Top of the Pops here back in the mid 80’s.American audience were grooving and TOTP audience were stiff.
I think their music always suited the States more- as he says, no real outlet until the pirates came along and played Brit funk. Loved loose ends, always a cool groove, and clearly perfectionism helped!
@@popthehistorymakers …..You could be right there about their music suiting the States more, but they were appreciated by the “Soul Heads” here and that is why they are British Funk-Soul Royalty, along side Soul II Soul, Omar and Mica Paris.Great interview BTW.I do wonder if because Carl owns the copyright to the Loose Ends name,if it bugs Steve and Jane as it was Steve who originally formed the band with Jane, before Carl came on board.I wonder if that could be part of the reason that could be causing whatever rift their is.
Great chat! It would be something if the 1994 album managed to leak somewhere.
Why is this great not in the writers hall of fame? I would love the see the OG Loose Ends in concert!

@@MasterBlaster205 could be, mind you if Oasis can reform - maybe anything is possible!
Too many chefs in the kitchen! Legends but when you hear it all you can see the rise of the solo producer with the technology
Wow to see this interview Carl and Loose Ends are one of the British Great for Soul.
He’s a great guy! 🎉🎉
