CAN THIS MINI-EX SMASH A BEAVER DAM OUT?

- We had another beaver dam to remove but this time we were able to use a mini ex to get it out. All the under water footage didn't turn out which was a bummer.

First!!!!
That was stuck good, Post10 would approve of the valiant efforts.
Ya it was really stuck and took longer then I thought
Yes another person of culture
Post 10 would be thinking an idiot in an excavator
Since I do follow post 10 I don't think he would be thinking that at all.
@@SkidderKev Not at all , 0% chance .. Great job sir , sub'ed
Beavers are a double-edged sword. There was a wildlife biologist who worked way out in the middle of nowhere, either Montana or Wyoming. Things were dry, game was moving out, generally not good. One of his coworkers was complaining about a beaver problem that they had, they trapped a bunch of beaver from one of the bad areas and transplanted them a few hundred miles away. Within a few months as the beavers did their thing and after a couple of years the wildlife were doing well.
problem,
Wow what a coordination, doing this without seeing what you do is hard. Good job. How satisfying to see the big beaver dam shoot through!
Ya he is a pretty good operator. We could have done it abit different but it got the job done. Thanks for watching
Wow - she was plugged Kev. Big rush right after. Thanks for taking us along
Alot a pressure behind that dam. Always neat to watch it blow out tho
2 cameras would have been great for this to watch the other side drop at the same time as the dam broke.
I will try that next time
SUPER FUN TO WATCH!
Thank you
I've seen all types of Beaver dams but not one quite like that one!! Thanks for sharing with us👍👍
Ya this one was odd and packing in there tight! Thanks for watching Mark!
Just a thought. Why not remove the dam floating a chain or cable under the bridge from one side to the other side. Then make a. Bar with finger on it to attach if beaver build again. Use shovel to pull bar thru
It was a thought to do. We figured to have a rope on the one end to keep pulling it back. It's amazing on how well built the dams are
That's similar to what I was thinking.... Except for running the chain through then attaching a tire then have the mini pull the chain w/ tire through....
Hi Skldder Kev, thanks for stopping by my livestream yesterday. Tedd texted me today and said he believes he’s figured out the problem with the Ultra not wanting to retract when it’s cold until it warms up. He had a question and wanted to talk to someone at Eastonmade, I gave him their number and said to start with Henry the parts guy. Please let Andrew know that I probably won’t need a replacement valve. Now that he’s off fb I cant get ahold of him except for your livestreams.
BTW cool video and nice excavator. Those darn beavers 🦫
Hey Joe. Glad Tedd got that figures out for ya. I past this msg on to Andrew as well yesterday. Hope you are keeping warm!
They made ya work for that one hahahaha! There actually really cool animals but can be destructive!! Hope all is well my friend! Stay safe
Ya. To be honest I thought we would hit it a few times and it would blow out. Was very surprised it took so much. Beavers are great builders
A ramrod to clear a dam, 10/10 for a great effort, A very satisfying video
thank you!
what a feeling once it gets flow and water starts moving again!
Ya its pretty neat to watch!
If you listened to this video instead of watching it... you might think it was a different video... lol
That’s funny 😄
Hahaha that is funny
Those beavers are sure GREAT BUILDERS! 30mins and it finally gave, they Def are proficient workers!
Smash that dam! Destroy the beavers!
Well done Sirs!
Thank you!
It's up to whomever is doing the job what procedure is taken to rectify issue. You did what it took and the results were 100%. That was the bottom line. Good work.
Thanks! Easy to sit in a chair and tell someone to do it this way or that way
Great job yall keep up it going
Thanks!
@@SkidderKev know problem dude
Great job thanks!!
Thanks!
The mini sure made this one easier! It would have been a real test for the chest waders if done by hand as usual!👍
Ya no one wanted to be in it when the dam let go thats why we went with the mini. Safest way
It would have been too dangerous.
14:58 that part was satisfying when the whole thing came out
Ya that was pretty neat!
Good Job! Hello from Russia!
Thank you! And hi!
Great job guys
It looks so easy from here.!
Haha the guy doing the most work was the one in the mini haha
Bravissimi, ottimo sistema per spingere il tappo 😀
thank you! it worked better then we thought
great vid blokes could i suggest a Auger screw attachment for that machine it can be used for many things thank you
We will look into it. Thanks for watching
I'm rooting for the beavers.
Cool job👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Very good job 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Amazing work 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Thanks!
Wonder why it never occurred to them to check or video the output to see if any progress and it would have been more interesting than watching the excavator swing back and forth time after time.
For how muxh that footage would have been awesome, I couldn't get a camera right inside and being outside it looked just like a dark hole with a touch of light. To get it closer would have been to unsafe. For how much I like to get awesome footage I like to go home to my wife and 2 young boys.
Wow! Little thing got the job done!👍🏻 The drop in water was dramatic. I'd like to see it now.
Ya that water dropped fast thats for sure! Thanks for watching!
@@SkidderKev Hope 2022 is your best year! 😊👍
Thank you Katherine! I hope the same for you as well
Take a 6 inch diameter sewer main pipe with 1 inch holes drilled in it all the way around the pipe goin vertical to the bottom of the box drain , connect to a 90 elbow, run a solid 6 inch diameter sewer main pvc pipe run to the opposite side of the box drain. Find you a way to attach it to the bridge. Beavers can block the box drain but the L shaped 6 inch sewer main pipe with 1 inch holes drilled in it on the side that’s holding back the water will still allow the water to drain.
Ya I have seen that done before but they wanted it opened up.
Great Job Guy !
Thank you Shirley!
well done, didn't know if it would work that well
ya if we had a chunk of maple or oak it would of helped but it got the job done.
Man v Nature, the road to victory!!!
Haha yup!
Should have used a steel "i" beam from the start.
We didn't have one available to us at that time so that's why we used a long log. It did get the job done. The dam wad packed in alot more then I thought.
Suggestion:: Call 'Post10' he will go into the culvert and pull the beaver dam apart with his 'trusty rake'.
Haha that would be the easy thing to do haha. Post 10 is in eroupe I believe and to be in that colvert pulling it apart is going to be a bad day for anyone when it let's go.
@@SkidderKev Post 10 is in NE United States.
That was awesome job 👌
Thanks Jose
They cropped the beavers and moved them to a location should up North by either Massachusetts or Massachusetts or Maine or somewhere like that but once they are done 6ou mint have some moves back in September or so anyway good luck
Thanks
Enjoyed video 😊.
Thank you!!
Great vid!
good thinking using the log as a ram.
Thanks. It worked pretty good
Great Great Job !!!!!
Thank you
Great job 👏.
Thanks
HOLY CRAP THAT A LOT OF WATER!
Yes it was. Went down fast
Post 10 certified
Thanks man!!
Seems like doing this would be a potential safety hazard for people downstream, like unaware children for example. Great job gents.
This flows into a giant reservoir with no other properties between.
Awesome!
Thanks for stopping by
Is there a 2nd part? I wanted to see follow-up video what it should look like. A before and after look.
Tom Dutkiewicz
Hi Tom. No I don't have a follow up on it but I do have a older video of the same box culvert being cleaned out and will give you a better idea what it looks like.
Great job but get a second camera to show the other side.. It would have been cool to see all the effort rewards as it happen
Thanks! I did have a second camera but looking into the dark culvert you couldn't really see anything unfortunately. That's why I never added that video
@@SkidderKev good enough answer for me..lol It would have made for great video People standing around watching it cheering on the machine vs nature.. lol
That was a serious plug. Good job.
Ya took alot longer to do then I thought.
lovely
Thanks
Wow
Fantastic job
Thank you! Cheers!
Good job
Thank you!
very good operator. u dun GOOD!
Thanks Robert
Cảm ơn bạn đa chia se video rất hay ❤️❤️❤️❤️👉🔔
thank you
Beavers really hate the sound of running water they always try and stop it.
Yup. One way to do it is with a siphon with some bigger pvc pipe. Having equipment there makes it way easier to get in.
All of this is a 1st for me. So interesting 🤔 I'm wondering how you catch a beaver 😂
Haha I'm sure you you know how
Post 10 would of love to do that by hand he doesn't need no stinky machine.
We would of done it by hand but with the dam being so big inside and the only way to get to it would be to be inside with it. The machine was the safest way to do it
Awesome vid! What a shame the part where it let go wasn't filmed!
Uh, … I thought that’s what is shown right about 15:00 … ?
@@thatfeeble-mindedboy I meant a camera on the other side would have caught the debris that immediately came through the other side.
Your right viewers did get to see the beaver damn after they got it to come out the other side but we didn't get to see the exact MOMENT it broke through.
Still a very awesome vid!! Cheers
looks like the beavers are winning that one
No it was a loss for them
Cool, you guys finally got to use an excavator. Have a great day.
Haha yup! Made life way easier and way safer
Awesome video
Thank you
Western Ontario?
Wish I could have seen the blockage go downstream. Other than that y'all did a fine job! 🌞
Ya its tough to get ever angle. But glad you enjoyed it! Will have more coming up here soon too
@@SkidderKev Lookin forward to em! 🌞
they are wonderful people
GREAT JOB!
Thank you
Ev1 at war with beavers don't use nukes now🤣
Hahaha
Y not clean the other side too....? That's looks nice to
Maybe install another camera on the other side next time, would be better interesting footage to see what goes on both sides of the culvert.
I had the boss holding one on the other side but with how the light was you couldn't really see anything. I did try tho
Fur coats is the best way to utilize the beaver population.
I'd like a hat
"Towards me and lower" ... moves over but still pokes the same spot 🤦♀️
Hahaha
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That would've been fun to be there and tackle this project.
Ya it was a fun little project for sure. Alot better when we can use equipment thats for sure.
It always amazes me how they pack that in there glad ya finally got it David Hailey had a funny comment have a great week
Ya they had it packed really well. Those beavers can really build a dam that's for sure
Love the way you pronounce out , you pronounce it oot when it’s actually pronounced owt .
Haha thanks for the comment and helping the channel out!
Good Job - didn't even get your feet wet. Cheers and stay safe
Yup it nice when a machine can do all the work
Dam hairy beavers!
Haha
Shoulda had a big plate of beaver kabobs out there while you were doing that. Little spicy mustard on the side!
Haha spicy mustard sounds good
Very nice work But you need too Cameras
wish they had a camera on the other side
I did but the footage didn't turn out very well so I didn't use it.
Love the videos. I’m wondering does anyone down stream complain about the large influx of water.
Thanks Chris. No cause this all flows into a bigger wetland then into a big reservoir. With no other properties
“Hey dad … there’s an island coming down the creek …”
Humm?
why do i all of a sudden feel constipated😦
Hahaha
Wow
Thanks
Good jod guys
Thank you.
Would of liked to of seen how much the water had dropped 🤔
❤️ your videos
Thank you
You need a long heavy duty pipe with a point on the end
Ya it probably would have been a better but we didn't have one and they wanted it cleared sooner then later so we gave this a try first. It got it done!
Would have been great to have a cam at the other end.
I did have one but because of the light it didn't turn out well. Maybe I will share it but I didn't think it was worth putting with this video
Destroying beaver dams unless putting infrastructures or homes at risk should be illegal, they actually are one the most important species to avoid flash floods /fires/droughts.
This was not done just for fun or a video, they were removed to save horse pastures, barns and at risk of washing out a road. No house are down stream and it runs right into a reservoir
@@SkidderKev That's fair, but the fact remains beavers are incredibly useful and should mostly be left undisturbed they create areas that allow entire eco systems to thrive and i think humans should move around the beavers and not the opposite their capacity to increase water and sediments retention is really beneficial long term !
@@calgar42k go out hug a tree n kiss a frog..
@@fredbiden868 you do realize beavers destroy trees to build dams ? How stupid your comment can be when i litteraly advocate to let beavers take down trees to turn them into wetlands?
@@calgar42k take the beavers out...
Well that was fun...what do we do next? 👍
Good ideas, attempts, should train beavers to. .. unclogging dams, like gorrila army. train em from young, to dismantle sticks and stones..
Haha wish it would be that easy!
A lot of that could have been removed by hand from the other side
To dangerous to do it by hand. If it let go when you were in the colvert it would be good.
I'm a back seat driver, hindsight tell me that you will either make the beavers extinct or develop precise beaver dam busters.
Nice video
Thanks Paul.
Who else is up at 12am watching 👀
I'm long to bed by then haha
Why need to destory Beaver home anyway?
To keep it from flowing over a busy road way and flooding woodlots and paddocks
Post 10 would have done it for free with his rake
haha
Can’t pass up a good beaver video
🤔
Haha
Y'all doing it from the wrong end
Not sure why you would want to be on the other side. You would have to be in the culvert at that point.
you need post 10 to go in & pull it all out..much cheaper
