Always nice to see the libero get some love. Usually the attention is on the spike monsters, but the libero is *so* important for the team, saving and setting up many points ... all the more so for a team that is as defense-oriented as Japan is.

This year, Iwasaki had much better perfomance and stats, comparing to Orro, but Orro was given "Best Setter", because 2nd place only gets 2 rewards per quota, and it was already given to Koga and Kojima. Also, not including players, who are simply amazing, but didn't get to the Finals, is against the spirit of sportsmanship. You can have the team of solid, but not special, players and get to finals and then they will "force" the reward on someone, because of quota, and you can have a player that carries the team and does miracles all through the VNL season and they get nothing
This reward system really is unfair, Brazil finished the first phase unbeaten and Carol was the best blocker on the VNL by far. At least she deserved to be one of the best middle blockers.

hi!! to answer your question, no they don’t! diving is painful if you don’t know how to execute it or do it properly, and that can be achieved by experience in playing and in practice.
