VIRGIL is a king and I have taken a long time to appreciate him, long after his passing ( REST IN PEACE ). But you can see why he was “Kanye’s best guy” and of course so much more - just a beautiful human.
Virgil was so reserved, I almost wish he had some of the asshole-ishness of Kanye to see more of his mind shared
But on the same note, I greatly appreciate he was his own person, perhaps I shouldn’t attach ideas about Kanye to Virgil when it only does a disservice to his work. He stands on his own merit.
your first statement was fine, it doesn't diminish the sentiment of your statement, If anything
Ye is one of our generation's best style visionaries (antics aside)...so Ye holding Virgil with such High regard actually speaks much more volumes to Virgil's level of greatness, because Ye is is a great himself...A great recruited a great! @@zachariah7114
Well said my friend, well said☝🏾
Man I love his mentality & perspectives. Def resonates deep down. To Virgil 🥂
an architect of culture. luckily for me my wife worked for LV when Virgil was alive and was able to get a few items thru her job from his collections. I shall cherish those items for his ideals not for the symbol of weatlth
thank you for this! so many gems on brands and streetwear and culture, RIP VIRGIL - with gratitude LaynoProd
It’s crazy to watch them talking about the future of streetwear when today, I walk into my local Nordstrom and they’re carrying FOG, Kenzo, and Visvim (this brand has ALWAYS been ridiculously priced!) brands that have been long sought after and are now “somewhat” accessible. I have been hip to both Supreme and Bape long before they blew up back in the mid 2000s. Back then, my style had absolutely nothing to do with exclusivity or hype. I simply just loved the aesthetic of streetwear and back then it was the best way to express myself.
what a killer interview, worth watching several times!
Thanks for always sharing good content Agostinho!
Brilliant video! Thanks for uploading.
Amazing interview
Love this - rest in peace 🪦
Great insight
"Omg what happened to Virgil"😢😢😢😢
There is certainly some divine intervention happening here in my art studio as I listen to this and for this fact I am very grateful .
❤️❤️🙏🙏
Miss you Uncle 💐
Was expecting a watchalong of 286 but this’ll do. Big Up Big Ketman himself, AZ.

is there a full video of this interview?
omg what happened to Virgil. RIP King
charismatic guy
i dont know where or how you get all this content bro
What's the date on the interview?
Always talking about my neighborhood the Lower East Side
yep. NORT, ALIFE, Recon, Supreme, Staple, Clientele, Tripple 5 Soul.... (Nome De Gurre was on Broadway.... and Dave's Quality Meats was in the meat packing district, but close enough)
Stussy and Adidas and Union were on the SOHO side - but worth the walk! And pretty much, you can trace almost every LES shop to an ex-Stussy employee.
I was blessed to be there when this shit took off.
Respect to Virgil! Dillitaunt was here
You are a showcase ~
Their talking ALIFE that was on Rivington St. 😉
Favorite part at 31 mins when Virgil mentioned streetwear is new to fashion people, the white dude had a mini seizure and seemed slightly offended cause thinks streetwear is the lowest common denominator and explains high fashion people were once the street wear kids. Then Virgil politely agreed which countered his original point.
Fashion industry seems like it’s filled elitist yet they are at the mercy of intangible elements like partnerships and catching trends.
Virgil’s epiphany is when he converged blue collar elements with high fashion but all he knows is that bubble will burst eventually.
The title says his thoughts on future but sounded like more so current state, example “DHL” trend. Am I way off on analysis? Open to thoughts
It’s because “high fashion” has always acted like so-called streetwear should be elated to be entertained by the likes of them, and their ilk. But meanwhile they also secretly covet what truly streetwear brands and movements have done. Which is create from scratch what they can only buy into. When you think about it, Streetwear already IS the new luxury in that it can be created today, blow up overnight, and suddenly it’s got a following so great someone like Bernard Arnault wants to come in and cannibalize that truly organic brand. Streetwear is organic. A rare thing these days.

hello! i’m your mentor - this is my guidance: don’t try to be someone else - you are you. there is a very real possibility that your aspirations don’t align with the pace of earth and your life is worthless. be creative and find value in your existence to make your life worthwhile. u good bruv, thank u for living, we goood
Could you tell me who Virgil is talking to in this video? THX in advance.

Where is this from?
It's so sad that his boss worked him to death
He didn’t he had terminal health problems and would’ve “worked” himself to death regardless of position Virgil was ALWAYS making something
who knows the name of this full interview
Who is the other guy, whats his name?
Super random question. I have my own brand I’ve been working on for a few now and I’m looking to find mentors. Anyone have any recommendations of possibly getting in touch with a mentor that’s actually had experience?
Best mentors are dead, so buy a Ouija Board?
@@zachariah7114 I'm weak lol

Try to get in touch with people who inspire you but before that make sure you have a proper portfolio of your work this will help your mentors to understand you and your work if your work interests them hey

It's scary how much psychological manipulation happens in fashion.
That’s just marketing in general. Psychological manipulation isn’t exclusive to the marketing of fashion, it’s universally implemented into almost all sales.
Elaborate
It's not manipulation he just had it like that lol
Tell me Virgil isn’t Kanye without telling me.
PYREX says what?
Bruh is wearing sweats! Designer ish a lie. Buy a house
Those things are not the same
