Why not do fitness if you want to get fit and strong, dont need 20 yrs of forms for that ...and 20 years of forms people still unhealthy....better off with 108FIT for strength and conditioning no need for forms won't bring half the health.

If an average form fairy spent 1 full round kick boxing with somebody just at a decent amateur level, they'd soon understand why you need to learn practical ways to hurt and defend yourself from an enemy. You're not aggressive at all, a lot of people in the west have this mythical idea that people in the East are full of peace and meditate all day. It's far from the truth and especially in historical terms. Brutal WHEN NECESSARY. But you must train properly to be brutal in the first place! If your enemy is more willing then you will lose. Respect sifu

Thug? My take (albeit less than 2 cents)
Martial arts is martial arts- everything changes and so should our arts.
Even if you’re practicing for just health- it’s still important to view the art in its context. That is to say approach it with the time and technology of the culture it was made in to provide intent then apply that to the day to allow the change to happen.
I dunno Sifu g- I think people get mad seeing their arts get crushed on UA-cam and express it in different ways. I think we have gotten complacent in our modern society as it’s easy to lose mindset and heart. This is demonstrated in our martial practice. I’ve done it and at times still do- I’m sure others do as well

Kung Fu was said to be about martial arts right???? Now its all forms for health and push hands because no one wants to get hit , what a shame.

I'm shocked you even had to tell people this. This isn't Tai Chi

I wouldn’t be so fast to knock Tai Chi. Seeing the pajama warriors trying to compete in a ring against even untrained people exposes exactly why Sifu G has said for along time. There ARE people that CAN actually use Tai Chi in combat. There IS a difference though between the ring and life and death combat. Being an overall, well rounded AND EXPOSED practitioner is important. Grandmaster Doo Wai told me that a well place ironpalm or ironfist would do because it would end the attack and perhaps the attacker for good.

If one can land a good palm and or fight and have iron skills can be over fast that is for sure...

@@johnhamilton9098 True. For many years I was under the impression that the masters in Chen village could still use it to devastating effect. But then I saw commentary by a Westerner who had studied there for over 10 years where he said they had been forced to remove the combat effective elements from the art by the Party back in the 50s so it was no longer deadly. I don't know if it's true or not, but if there is deadly Tai Chi out there still, only a miniscule percentage of practitioners are privy to it. So the Tai Chi 99 percent of the world has access to was what I was referring to.

I do not get much of a chance to view the podcasts or videos Sifu G. I can say your approach is one that most people should have. You being a THUG…I do not see it. You seem to be living in reality and trying to be well prepared along with being able to play the violent along with healing game in my view. Here in the states….🙄 there are so FEW that are like this.
