The 68 and 79 bridges on Kentucky are absolutely loaded with fish and fisherman alike, also the boat traffic is absolutely insane through them making them incredibly difficult to fish! The bridges on the Ozark lakes are pure cash 💰 my favorite spot is where it eddy’s on the shallower corners when they are pulling current! (My “secret” is semi slack lining a smaller sized flutter spoon next to the piling’s, also look into saltwater top water walkers, they produce a frequency in the rattle chambers not heard on fresh water marketed top waters 😉)
There's a great bridge to fish in my area that's in tidal waters. Each pillar has a level gauge on it in feet so you can tell exactly how deep the water is around each pillar at any given time. I've caught some nice fish under that bridge!
Thanks Matt, I watched your video last night and took your advice. I went out today and used a soft bait around a bridge and caught three right off. 👏👏👏👏
This is exactly the type of material that will help any new angler if he was listening to everything from the beginning and not just hearing about the baits. I still think it would be a good idea to be able to enhance a new English time on the water by pointing out when they could try new techniques. We always hear someone say they don't have any luck with a jig, comma but they are really good at catching bass by the weeds with a Texas rig worm. Get my drift.
Thanks Matt. The bridges are usually built at the most narrow place on a body of water, due to cost. Now you have structure in current. I know that and still can't figure those bass out. Every where I fish there is bridges but they are hard to get bites. I really don't see anyone fishing them. Naturally I'll keep trying. Matt any chance on a finesse crankbait video covering the best gear to throw a crank like that little Frittside. I know spinning gear but types of rods or even some bfs gear. Having a hard time finding a good spinning rod for small cranks. .
Guppy Heads and 2.8/3.3" Keitechs (Electric Blue & Chartreuse!!) are MONEY around bridges and even for schooling spots busting bait on the surface. The hard part on the latter is just letting it swing back and not trying to work it/reel it too much. When will your hover rig be available?
🍺 “Gas” talk live will never be the same. From Dr Stefan giving you permission to set the new record to wiping away the tears after refusing to “go there” after the “Pump and Munch” 😂comment. You were much more patient and polite then I ever could be 🤠 when the host took a huge left turn.🤛In the comment section I encouraged people to check out Matt Stefan fishing as well as BFD. There were 268 on chat at one point.
Haha! I couldn't keep it together on the pump and munch! I cant believe that's a real gas station name! Haha! thanks for the comments promoting the channel!
Wat I like about the baits u suggested are great multi species baits too and when I’m fishing bridges it ussaly river and a saugeye or Mybe a Muskie or cat always a good bi catch !! 4-5 lbs anything a nice fish to hook
Excellent video!! Always struggled around bridges. Also great show this morning on BTL, I can't wait to go to a "Pump and Munch" some day. BTW here in my part of MN Kwik trip, Casey's and Holiday are king
I fish the hot side of Lake Anna in central Virginia from a Jon boat. The bridges do hold fish and I will use some of the lures you recommended in this video. Is there a lake breakdown of jut the hot side of Lake Anna?
I dont think we have done one but you can make a personal request here fishthemoment.com/personal-lake-breakdown/fish-the-moment-personal-lake-breakdown-with-matt-stefan?rq=matt%20stefan
I agree with the spy bait. I do want to know your opinion with the spy bait. I love to throw spy baits fun fishing. But what I’ve noticed with these baits is that every fish I catch on them they are barely hooked on the back treble so in a tournament I have to find another way to catch them. And I have experimented with very light action rods. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated because maybe I’m missing something that you have figured out. Thank you
Great topic, plenty of bridge pilings in PGH. I'm excited to give Hover Strolling a better effort. My 1st try was with a super-thin hook with no keeper, and had to bend the eye 90^...couldn't keep cadence and the bait slid too easy...any idea when and where your hook will be available?
Lol. It's true, spys work great on bridges. I've never used them original spys. I have them. I just saw my elite brother use them on a bridge. I use Alphas for other species.
Excellent video, Matt!!! A lot of good tips to take in & use!!👍I think this was one of the first videos I've seen on what & how to bridges. I'm around those bridges now I can try a different tactic!!Stay Safe & God Bless!!
🍺While practicing if someone catches bass “deep”🤔30’+ do you have concern about their air bladder and survival on release? Do you put them in the live well for a period of time, then take them to a shallower location, try and fight them to the boat slowly etc. I ask due to the education you have received in the past and I want to do the right thing.🤠 Or save it for a future video.

Love jigging bridge pillings with that same method with swimbaits
It can work very well!
Thanks Matt , Love bridges hard to fish correctly.
You bet!
Awesome video about bridges. Have not used these baits but will definitely put them in my rotation this year. .
Glad you like them!

When will your hover rig be available?
End of the month!
Bridges are my go to. My issue is knowing when to leave the spot or stay and wait for new fish to cycle through.
thats a whole new video haha
Great Video! Always learning new ways with each video you produce! Awesome content!
Thanks William

I totally just googled ‘dirty gas station names’ and posted the first one - I have never been to a pump n munch 🤣🤣
Killer topic. Bridges are also great to protect against the elements. Rain, snow, sun, etc.
agreed!
Great video, Matt. Can you talk about how current positions the fish on the bridge?
good video suggestion! thanks!
Great baits and information thank you for sharing 📹 👍

pump and munch is just a ridiculous name haha!
@@MattStefanFishing I might use that name as slang for the gas stations around here now

Bridge fish are heavily pressured and have seen almost every standard lure. Spy baits are ideal for those situations. Great video Matt!
thanks for watching!
Great video and I love the btl episode today was great and y’all talking about gas stations was priceless lol
haha! pump and munch!

Ill watch it when it coms out!
I still to this day log every trip , weather , time of the year , tides ,etc .

Please do a video on the Baits you like to fish when there is no cover or structure in the body of water to speak of.
good topic!
If it's a bridge, give me a shakey head...every time...without fail.
they still work great!
Great video ++
Thank you 👍

Interesting to know - unfortunately where I fish there are no bridges …😢
bummer

thanks for watching!
When are you going to start selling your ‘hover rig’?
hopefully the end of the month. Still waiting to get them from the production facility in Illinois
