Why? Just asking..trailer coils pull from the top , so the inside of the coils usually aren’t dirty like that Clean the coil like he did, straighten all the fins with a fin tool of course then I soak in no rinse coil cleaner and turn the ac on That usually penetrates and cleans the entire coil
The reason to do it this way is you can use acid that will get that coil back to new condition. Adding the coupling doesn't cause a spot to leak. Not knowing how to solder causes a leak.

Since most, if not all mobile homes air handler are at he back door, I wonder if....1. Turn off power. 2. Put a tarp underneath blower fan (if it's an upright). 3. Tape a tarp very close the evaporator put make it 'water slide' out the back door. 4. Wash unit. 5. Clean up
Adapt the water hose to connect to your cleaner pump spray nozzle wand you’ll use less water and clean the coil better you can even hook up a large wet/dry shop vac to suck up the water and have less soaking wet towels to deal with.
Quick question to an old video. Obviously shut the unit off while applying the cleaner and cleaning. But after it’s cleaned up, can I turn the unit it back on immediately after I’m done? I don’t need to wait X amount of hours do I? I’m just cleaning the fins with expanding foam.
my 17 years of commercial refrigeration, food service equipment, and air conditioning tells me that you really should have done a pull and clean. pumping the system down would have minimized refrigerant loss and most likely would only need a lb or less to top it off if done properly. you definitely left a bit more money on the table. more thorough equals better workmanship and pay.
Your 17 years of experience should probably tell you not to pull and clean an evaporator that, if not already leaking, will leak within a year of pulling.
what is the txv? I am disabled, just quoted 425 and I don't have that. so I have to do it myself. I'm a girl so lol I don't know what I'm doing or what this stuff is called.
I have pretty much the same air handler and my drain pan isn't overflowing and i already replaced the drain line but I noticed water/condensation falling from the coils. Is this because theyre dirty?
If this side is so dirty, the the other side must be very dirty too. The correct way to clean this kind of coil is to pull it out, clean the return air side
That is the outlet sides of the coil. How in the hell did the outlet sides get so dirty? The inlet sides are behind that triangular cover. Did they run it without a filter forever and the crap went from the inside through the core to the outside?
So I can’t use a hose for my personal unit in my house . Will a old cleaning spray bottle with water suffice ? I’m getting a freezing condition and the pressures where just checked and topped . I'm sure you told the home owner that coil wasn't long for this world and they refused. I always hated that but you're already there with it nearly read to come out. You'll be back in less than a year replacing it and having to charge more because it will take longer.
@@coldonehernandez4906 yeah I can't afford that. I am need bound and forgot all about it this summer. Only reason I noticed was water on the floor. I've never seen this happen before it's a mess. There are also pads that are wet. And I also have a plastic accordian hose instead of a pvc drain. Should I replace this. It looks might be clogged
I deflect and suck. You really need higher pressure and more flow. Remember when you think you've rinsed all the coil cleaner off then your halfway done.

Dangerous game using industrial strength coil cleaner on a thin coil like that one. One spot not rinsed and it’s toast…poor people just want to believe this will fix it
Call a professional. Because that’s not how you clean a coil. The triangle in the middle comes out and you clean the coil from inside out. The airflow doesn’t come from the back. Or take the coil out and clean it. 🤔 just saying.

BS, only cleaned on the surface, many of the coils are 3 row or 4 row deep coils. then you have the issue of micro coils which is very tight spacing of the fins, very hard to clean, the entire unit should have a coil box with good filters or upgrade the area it sets in . the only way you can get those coils clean is remove the coil and take it out side and use a low pressure washer to get the crud out of the deep areas, that is why i like the quick connect coils that allow you to remove the coil
Right on! That’s the best way to do it without making a mess
Pump it down, cut the coil out. Take it outside and clean it. 2 couplings and the coil is back in.
That's is the more effective way of cleaning the coil.
I had to do that a few times because it was so bad, hair salon had that coil caked up. But typically I'll clean it in place if possible.
Why? Just asking..trailer coils pull from the top , so the inside of the coils usually aren’t dirty like that
Clean the coil like he did, straighten all the fins with a fin tool of course then I soak in no rinse coil cleaner and turn the ac on
That usually penetrates and cleans the entire coil
More effective but adds a spot where it can leak because of those couplings
The reason to do it this way is you can use acid that will get that coil back to new condition. Adding the coupling doesn't cause a spot to leak. Not knowing how to solder causes a leak.

I usually suck the foam and dirt out with a shop vac and a 90* elbow on the wand.
Good enough for people who don't have any money.
I did that with my regular vacumn just now to clean as much of the buildip as I could off.
Clean mine up I feel it's cools way more
I use a drum liner and stapled to the bottom side of the coil or duct tape it if I can. Works great.
Adapt the water hose to connect to your cleaner pump spray nozzle wand you’ll use less water and clean the coil better you can even hook up a large wet/dry shop vac to suck up the water and have less soaking wet towels to deal with.
Great Idea 💡 👍
The Milwaukee pack out vaccum works good for this and catch it at a t or water switch
What size and type of filter would you use on on of these air conditioners?
pressure water with diff mode better will spray wider and stronger to push all foam duat away
less water too to be uaed
Can you do a video on how to clean the drain on this same ac unit
yes absolutely
Do you oil the coil afterwards to slow rusting or mineralization process?
Pump up sprayer that make electric ones that get all the tuff spots without the mess I still use a bunch of drop cloth
That's a great idea
If that center tirangle is just screwed on. You probably should take it off clean the inside.
Looks as though they dont use a filter.
could it prevent from cooling the home when its dirty like that? or cause ice build up?
Thanks for this. Is replacing an evaporator coil considered a “repair”. If not, is an evaporator coil even repairable if it has a leak
Yes, it is considered repairing AC. Unit

If you remove the metal behind the txv you will be able to clean the inside of the coil with a brush to further help airflow 👍

Pull the delta plate stuff the towels in there clean it from the inside out.
Should the hvac be tirned off before the cleaning of the evaporator coli?
yes
Is it bad to touch the coils to clean them? Like scrub the dust off?
What's the chemical used?
Does the cooled air pass through a filter before entering the house? I'm not familiar with this system.
yes

Why would you use the spray or dry method instead of water

Is that coil downdraft o updraft?
You are the 1st person to ask this question and I thought somebody would ask a sooner

Very good my friend
You are smart
The water beaded off the coil because the dirt had compacted so heavily. Then it skipped over the drain pan. See it all the time.
That coil has a leak good job cleaning it
what kind of chemical coil cleaner?
viper

Yeah 90% clean
Take the end plate off and wash from inside. That and most mobile home Coils sit in on the floor with no access under the unit
The inside was clean
I took the end plate off
Wish that would have helped
From the inside out pushes the dirt out of the coil , from the outside in you're pushing dirt into the coil where it can get lodged and plug up coil.
I understand the logic behind what you say
Get you a long wand from lowes or home depot.
How much did you charge? My company would have charged around $500
To clean this I charged her about a 150 bucks
Stupid cheap, doesnt pay for labor or overhead.
What about the inside coils
they were clean on this one
mostly dog hair on the outside

check the link in the description
What about inner coil?
nothing on that side
