Interesting perspective. Thank you. 'Truth' is our internal dialogue about information received externally, combined with our own desire to interpret that information on a philosophical level. We have laws that underpin societies. These laws broadly align across the world via international law, however local/religious interpretation and cultural norms are powerful influences. I experienced this whilst living in, and then regularly visiting a Middle Eastern country. Travel abroad and reading are enlightening and challenge what we believe to be true. Unfortunately MSM has successfully positioned itself as the only 21st century teacher and influencer. It is highly influential and it is a constant (personal) challenge to sift through the emotive language and imagery. Indeed, nothing is what it seems.
In all this internal dialogue, our ability to remain focused on what is right in front of us is all that matters! The hard questions need to be asked in order to gain perspective on the "Truth". To stay balanced one must accept that what we think is not always true! What might be, what is to come, what should be, are unnecessary thoughts! We must remain Hypervigilant to our pursuit of Virtue.
Thank you. Truth is just an idea that 'people' have made up in order for their seeming self-preservation. Animals don't need truth. I don't think we 'live' in duality. The sense of there being an illusory self necessarily leads to a sense of living in a dualistic world. ' I am in here and everything else is out there.' The illusory self therefore needs to establish answers and truth in order to protect it'self', as it thinks it is real, and therefore separate from everything. 'Reality', and the need for it, also arises from the sense of a person being separate; after all, if something is real, something else must be unreal. As you say, truth relies on the perspective of the individual. Ultimately, there is neither real or unreal, duality or non-duality. 'Who am I?' Well, you are not a 'who'. People can question their judgements and opinions, but what people rarely do is question their existence..
Agreed. I think that critical thinking and questioning everything is one of the most important skills a person can acquire and sharpen. I believe it will cause a person to be much more humble, mature and less dogmatic. I wish they would teach this to young kids in public schools. I know I wasn't taught to when I was in public schools. It was pretty much just listen and memorize what is told to you. That unfortunately carried into my adult life for too long.
Thanks for this, Mark. Good to hear a voice of reason! Best wishes from Ireland.

Exactly
Question everything but you should be able to support your claims with credible sources( many sources are bias).
