Seriously, succulents will grow sitting on a carpet if you let it.
The leaves require no water because they get all that they need from the mother leaf to create those babies. My leaves still need more time to grow.
The hardest part about growing succulents is that they do require significant light to grow tight and uniform. The beauty of succulents is that they are VERY forgiving though! You can propagate their leaves on their own, you can chop and it’ll grow more plants from the cut, and you can repot the portion you cut into it’s own individual pot.
If your succulent is etiolated, long term your plant will continue to grow leggy, looking pale and weak so it’s better to change its conditions.
If you found this useful, consider following! We have a lot of fun around here 🫶🏽

I have NEVER been able to grow from the stem of some of our succs. Not sure what kind it is, but it never grows babies. And we've had some them upwards of 4 years. Started with 2, we got from a boutique grand opening party. We've made over 100 babies to give to kids, and we have like 20!

    Do note
Ignoring a succulent depend climate of your region. In a very hot and humid climate, don't leave a leaf or in the open. Maybe near the window but shaded else the last week loose moisture before it has a chance to grow.

Wait you can hang succulent leaves on a string? That's brilliant!

Only works this with high humidity. I need to lay them in soil and keep the soil a little bit wet with a spray bottle.

Interesting! I successfully propagated some during the summer and then just had a disaster this week with some new ones. It's far dryer indoors right now, so that follows.

I always have issues with leaves😂 I have a green thumb so in my hands everything grows well, but succulent leaves just refuse to. I'll try hanging them, I usually stick them into the ground like rosettes haha (and it never worked)

yes, they are resilient and I found less is best with them. I’ve had no success as one other person has said too much love is not a good thing.

I split a massive snake plant years ago and they're unbelievable. The roots kept wanting to rot no matter how little I watered so I stopped watering all together. One of my plants is about 3 feet tall and has about 5 large leaves. It hasn't had any roots at all in 2 years. I cut off the rot a long time ago and stopped watering it. Instead of relying on roots it'll drain the smallest leaf over a few months. I can't believe I've had these tall plants for almost 5 years and have struggled with roots the entire time but the leaves have never showed it. They look exactly the same minus a small leaf. They seem to be perfectly fine without any roots. I hope someday they'll accept water without rotting but so far they're doing ok. Snake plants, and succulents in general, are amazing.

A random kalanchoe (pinnata maybe) appeared in one of my pots a couple of years ago, and it's been thriving ever since. There are seedlings in a few different pots, lol.
