I've been very concerned about this ban, I was ecstatic to hear it expired 🥰 Petro is looking handsome as always. It breaks my heart to know how endangered these babies are and the hardships they must endure due to the cruelty of humans. Quite the victory that we can keep them in captivity. We are indeed stewards and shepherds to this realm ♡

That's so awesome bc I have a red iguana that travels with me and I wanted to travel to Florida but didn't bc of that bill so I'm very happy we are winning the fight against reptile bans
I just watched a YT video about scientists studying the number of invasive species (pythons, green iguanas, etc) that froze to death during this winter’s particularly cold weather. They were conducting the study to compare the invasive to native species ability to cope with the cold. I was amazed by the number of ignorant comments. Uneducated people believe all the conspiracies being fed to them by politicians & network news; smokescreens to shift focus from actual problems; education, healthcare, infrastructure, etc.. Very sad.

Good job US arc keep up the good fight! Certain species tend to benefit from the captive trade. Take the axolotl for instance which is practically extinct in the wild at this point but thriving in the aquarium trade nowadays. Another good example is the poison dart frogs which have very small native habitats but again thriving in the pet trade.

The main problem is that the lawmakers don’t know Jack about the laws that they’re trying to enforce. They should never be allowed to make a law or disallow a law.
If it comes to a law regarding animal species, then it should be somebody who is a specialist in said animal species to be able to know which ones can become invasive, put for the information and decide as a specialized group, whether and what law would be best to be put in place.
People that have no knowledge about a situation should not be involved in making a decision in regards to a situation they know nothing about period!!!!!!!!
Congratulations Kenan. No way you deserved to have your animals taken away from you that you've had for 20 years since 2004!! You've cared for them so well and definitely don't deserve that!

It’s not the iguanas fault! Glad they are SAFE. I live in South East Georgia about 45 minutes from Jacksonville Florida. Going to be bringing in a rhino baby soon! Going to build an outside enclosure and put a rock mound in the middle of the backyard. As long as I build all of that the wifey can’t say no 😁😁😁.

I wish i had the right way to keep them here in Indiana but i dont so i have to enjoy watching them on your channel. But i would never get an animal that i cant take care of correctly. ❤

They have an agenda; to shift focus away from real problems to bullsh*t to avoid addressing actual issues. The mouth-breathing, knuckle dragging idiots believe everything they are fed by unscrupulous politicians.
Which is most of the time. They need to focus more on REAL problems like affordable healthcare, infrastructure & improving the education system and stop inventing problems like banning pet iguanas… that ship has already sailed with the Green Iguanas. Smart, responsible people like Kenan know proper reptile husbandry in Florida and how feral animals could potentially cause problems in the state.

I think a good idea is when you move the rhinos you keep the Argus monitor in datt enclosure until u make a ideal enclosure for the Argus

Politicians are stupid. You wait until south Florida is overrun with Iguanas, then decide that a ban on ownership will prevent the problem you already have. A ban would have been understandable if it was passed " before" the problem arose, and not after. At this point , there should be no bans on any animal which is already established in the state.
This past winter’s frigid temps in FL killed many invasive reptiles, especially the pythons in the Everglades. There’s a YT video about it.
Petra is hungry, and Petro stole half her flower ☹️ she needs nourishment to lay some healthy eggs! I’d like to see you do a little protein feeding for them, like pinkies, baby quail or eggs.
Rhino iguanas don’t eat rodents or birds so that wouldn’t help at all

Please please please support USARK. Get involved in whatever ways you can to share the message for keepers and our animals. One day (unfortunately) these will be the only individuals of a lot of species left in the world, and if there’s ever a hope of repopulation (when humans get a lot cooler about coexistence…hopefully…) there needs to be the ability to keep happy healthy animals for that future.
I’m from Florida originally, now on a farm in TN, and will do whatever I can to stand by my fellow keepers. One day it may come down to being a safety net to ensure their animals have a place to go if they need to leave states that are no longer hospitable to their presence. Let’s all do our part to make sure that never EVER happens. 🩶🩶🩶

I love those iguanas! When my sister and I were very young our mom brought home a green iguana. “Igwee” was about four feet long, including tail. Igwee was the hit of our neighborhood. He loved bananas! After a few months it was time to re-home him. Our mom decided to gift him to her best friend and her kids. Our mom was a prankster and recruited my sister and me to assist her. We left Igwee in the car while our mom skillfully turned her chit-chat with her friend to the subject of household pets. She asked if they ever consider reptiles. Mary was broad minded and said yes, that her sons expressed interest in lizards on occasion. Once our mom got Mary where she wanted her she called out my sister and me, “okay girls, bring in the iguana!”
Igwee ended up living on a rubber tree in an enclosure in their living room and became a neighborhood hit. A few months later Igwee was relocated to the Peoria, Illinois zoo.

would rhino iguanas be able to survive in the wild of Florida? I mean you regularly lock them in when it gets too cold.
Very possibly as there native range is the Islands just below Florida, i can't seen the weather being that different, South Florida and the Keys very possible, but their'd be a limit going North, they would use and dig tunnels to go into when the weather was a a bit chilled.
There needs to a limit on keeping wild pigs all stares!!

Someone needs to ask these lawmakers "Okay, you're against pet owners keeping other species in addition to green iguanas...which species do you oppose and why? Which experts have you consulted with?".

I thought they laid eggs but only a couple hatched because of a mold issue. One that was helped out of his shell also died (probably of internal development issues.)

They are illegal in Florida as they are already established as invasive in the state. Tegus are like big puppies, when acclimated they make great pets.

Some people capture and sell them and other wild invasives to people all over. It’s probably highly illegal but when people need to make money it’s what they do. I’ve seen unboxings of wild caught reptiles on some YT channels. It’s better than killing them for no reason which is what the FWC would do. Duck the FWC and all those crooked b@stards.
Iguanaland - what would have happened to Ty Park and all the money he put into his expanded facility. I hope the loss of tax revenue from breeders and other animal-related businesses was an important consideration in the bill being dropped. Money speaks volumes to state tax coffers. Congrats Florida for doing the right thing.
I think he renamed it “Tortoise Land” at one point to avoid government scrutiny. It’s the govt putting up smokescreens to divert public attention away from real issues, like the whole Disney debacle. Imagine the tourism dollars Florida would lose! Like they say “you can’t fix stupid.”

Probably the same as what happend with the tegus and burmese pythons. You have to try to get the animals out off state before a certain date at which point they become illegal to own and might get put down. I remember like a year ago I stumbled on a video off rose city reptiles in which they are taking over a tegu collection from a breeder, they weren't planing that big off an exspension but they didn't want all these animals (some with rare color morphs) to be put down.
Why not bill to control wild iguana
Time to upgrade the Rhino iguana enclosure. Especially Petra and Petros. Feels like their enclosure is the same as it's been for a long time while other animals gotten upgrades. The rhinos deserve it
At some point soon, Petra and Petro are bing moved to the enclosure where the crazy Blue iguana hybrids are, i believe Kenan is sending them to the same person that took Buttercup the albino Burmese python, when that happens Petra and Petro will be moved where the Blue hybrids are, and where Petra and Petro are currently will be broken down.

I absolutely hate that nj law states that anaconda’s are not allowed to be owned in the state anymore but they were allowed to be owned legally until like 7-8 years ago when I wasn’t able to get one because of not having enough space for the proper enclosure needed for an pair of them but now I have that space they are no longer allowed it really ticks me off because I see them in our state zoos and they don’t even have the proper space for them by any means whatsoever it’s absolutely upsetting that us reptile owners who can give these animals better homes than most zoos could have the government stepping in and telling them that they can’t anymore so I am currently looking to buy a house in pa so I can actually keep my reptiles that are illegal in nj at my home finally and not at my buddies place anymore I want to be able to interact with my alligators, salt water crocodiles and venomous snakes regularly and not get charged with a felony charge
You can’t own anacondas in New Jersey but it’s completely legal for siblings to get married (look it up.) Go figure.

I tend to not like or agree with most politicians on either side of the isle, but overall I think FL has a great govenor at the moment! I know he can be quite divisive 😂 but as far as politicians go, a lot of our “best” ones seem to be down in FL!
