That Hannibal was fantastic! Very moving stuff... Gave me the same chills that Creator Has A Master Plan did when I first heard it. Thanks for the video man adding all of these to my wants hahaha
Glad to see you back.I don't know if you saw Jamal at the jazz fest like some five years ago.I think it was one of the best jazz concert I ever saw,and I saw a lot of them.He was 80 years old and swinging like crazy whit still a firm touch and a groove that was just mad.
Great stuff as usual Kieran. The other album by Milton Marsh, "Continuum" is lovely too. You might dig it as well. I know you can buy his albums directly from him off his website, he's very responsive. That Sam Sanders has been a tough find for me, it'll pop up eventually. Look forward to seeing what else you been digging. Cheers, Dave
Even though I already knew about most of these, lots of dopeness per usual. A Monastic Trio is my personal favorite from her. The Medasi is great, i'm still looking for the other one, you would dig that one as well. Great pickup on the Sam Sanders, really good one from him.
Children is the stone cold classic off that Medasi album. Nice work as always, I always enjoy your videos and the records you show. Is that Carlos Garnett in the background?
kieran, great taste, nice selection. jamals "at the blackhawk" and hard to find in good condition the double album from early fifties" portfolio".it has a nice analog sound. check out vibes player dave pike. "pikes peak" and "its time for dave pike" on riverside. the last pike album is a cooker with barry harris, reggie workman, and billy higgins i just chacked on ebay (today, wednesday oct.18) and there are two close to mint copies condition from euclid records for $39.99! ive bought from them alot and they are great sellers and their grading is very accurate.
