Racquet being a stripper when Del meets her is the exact same circumstances when Harold meets Zita .....same film, Albert and Harold find a baby left in the yard they believe may be Jesus.... Sullivan nicked that but changed the thinking his son is Jesus, Rodney is convinced Damien is the Devil....

Maybe she knows Victor's ghost is there and she has attempted to talk to him but she can't here anything he says from beyond the grave so just acknowledges these ghostly things without reacting knowing there's no point talking to Victor because she can't see him let alone here him.

victor referring to what is going to happen on tv being in the papers to boost ratings is a pop at who wants to be a millionaire who announced the first ever winner would be shown on the same evening at the same time of the last ever episode of one foot in the grave, which they had never done before, but deliberately timed it to try and beat the bbc in viewers, which in the end, unfortunately, they did!

I never saw this before and am now wondering if a whole series could have been made out of ghost Victor and Margaret. A lot of scope for some interesting concepts.
While the actors are still alive I'd love to see this continued, perhaps with Margaret in a nursing home or even living with Mr Sweeney (they had an almost mother-son bond towards the end of the series), with Victor obviously shouting about some nurse or Mr Sweeney himself.
Surly when Victor picked up the arm and newspaper it would have scared the shite out of Margaret as they were not ghosts? Also the video in the bag changed positions on the tv... I hate continuity errors :)

She seems really nervous in this comedy relief clip, and several times looks over at Victor, even seeming to answer his question. I think she does know, but is nervous about it, because that's really not supposed to happen.
was the video supposed to end there? it seemed like a pretty bad ending...the fact they actually bought him back as a ghost makes the fact he was killed off even more sad, because now hes back as a ghost and didn't realize hes dead means he isn't resting at peace. i think they could made the ending to this more emotional and heart felt

The series regularly pulled on the heartstrings and brought on the tears as well as the laughter. It's why I enjoyed it so much.
Not classic One Foot by any means, but the sudden and sad realisation that this isn't set before 'Things Aren't Simple Anymore' punches the gut.
In my opinion, that was an excellent sketch, on a par with series, classic Victor Meldrew there, brilliantly acted by both
One foot in the grave did comedy but also poignancy, sadness and darkness so well.

It was the perfect ending. David Renwick wanted to end the show anyway, and by killing him off he ensured that he could never return.
