Great video, Bruno. Nice setup. My N2885A is now at the shop getting its upgrades - can't wait to see the final results. Blue skies and tailwinds. - Mike
Hey Mike! Nice to see you around here, buddy :) Saw your bird in the hangar the other day, and it's going to look great! Happy to take you up anytime while your plane is grounded. Cheers!
Nice Cheetah! My son and I own a 77 Grumman Tiger AA-5B based out of Denver, Colorado. We love our little Grumman! We just replaced our A/I and HSI with Garmin G5's and love the capabilities of those units. Makes VFR and IFR flying a breeze! We also had a complete panel update done as well, replacing the plastics with aluminum and adding a USB charge port, etc. Well worth the investment. Fly safe and fly often!
Thanks Gordon! The Grummans are amazing! My "grumman life" started just 5 months ago, but I couldn't be happier with the Cheetah (ok, maybe I'd be a bit happier with more useful load haha). I considered the G5s for the upgrade as well, but ended up going with the Aspen after discussing it with my A&P. Next on my list is an USB charge port like you did, plus a new Engine Monitor and maaaaaybe an AP. Blue skies and tail winds, man!
This is a great video, Bruno! I love Brookhaven. Flew to that airport on my discovery flight and haven't looked back since! I'm glad I came across your content, especially since you're a fellow New York pilot. Keep it up and looking forward to more.
Thanks buddy! Really appreciate the feedback and the support. Brookhaven is now my second home, and if you're ever around let me know and we'll meet up!
Great video, Bruno. Very well done. Nice piloting too, in busy complex airspace. Congratulations on your upgrade. After 2.5 months of down time, it must have been sweet to fly again.
Hopefully a spot at FRG will open soon. Astoria to Shirley gives me a headache just thinking about it. Beyond that the plane looks awesome. I got my private and instrument at FRG. Your videos have brought back some incredibly fond memories. Thanks!
Thanks buddy! And yeah, I've spent A LOT of time on the 495 rush hour traffic just to get to the airport... all worth it though, flying makes up for everything else :) Fly save and blue skies, my friend!
Holy crap, you live in Astoria but your plane is in Brookhaven? That's so far away! Thankfully, I fly out of KOAK and we never have to worry about frost when arriving at the ramp lol.
Hi Bruno nice video .Hows the Aspen working with the Avidyne?? Im also thinking of installing the Aspen, already have the same Avidyne you have. Where did you get it installed .Im based in KFRG thanks , Richie
OMG, Astoria NY. My family on my mother's side is from Astoria. You may have heard the name at some point, Steinway. The family joke, "No I don't play piano and I have no money"
Hi. I'm looking for a plane to buy in Canada. But I really don't know how much it's gonna cost me in hourly, insurance, maintenance. My budget is not big.
Hey there! I’m not sure about the costs of onwership in Canada, there are a lot of variables to consider and I’m not familiar with the rules and needs in the country. In the US, I find that the hourly cost for the plane drops to about 1/3 of the cost of renting (after purchase), including maintenance, parking, fuel and insurance. Hope this helps!
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing your flight with your new avionics, I wish you smooth air and soft landings! Safe journeys.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words, buddy! Glad you enjoyed the video! Blue skies and tail winds!

@@FlyWithBruno Thanks for the invite. I might take you up on that. Could join you as safety pilot if you need one for IFR.
@@mishagl33 anytime man! I’ll be flying some days over this week, I’ll hit you up!
Loved the video. Loved hearing some Tycho in there too man. Yuuuuge fan of Tycho… and your channel.

Ah you got an Avidyne! Love my IFD 540. So intuitive.
I’m loving it! Quite a leap from my old 430W!
Just be sure the latch doesn't freeze, it would be embarrassing to be locked inside your own plane. ;)
LOL, I'll make sure to remind a certain pilot about that!

Thanks Peter! And yes, the wait was long, but totally worth it! Can't beat the feeling of being back in the skies :)

I know, it’s FAR! But best I could get right now 🤷🏻♂️ Still worth the drive to fly :)
I do love glass....when I get to fly with it.
It made my Cheetah a whole different plane, and a great IFR platform!
Nice panel
Thank you!
Bruno, how did you enable the aural call out for minimums?
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Hey Lee! I believe you can configure it on the Aspen! It was activated by standard in mine, so I’m not exactly sure

Hi Richie! They work great together. Best setup I’ve ever had!
Ahhh...That is me!!
Ha! Special feature!! Congrats again on your PPL buddy.
Nice set up. You forgot to mention the call to your insurance company saying “So, about that hull value...”
Thanks man! And that's true haha! Next on my list.

Lol that's amazing! Been living in Astoria for 5 years now, love it here! My only wish was that it was closer to my home airport...
What kind of mount for your GoPro is used for the belly view?
I use the RockSteady tie down mount. Love it!

How to spot a pilot: He says correction in a regular sentence (at 5:15). Haha! Been there, done that...
Haha I can't help it...
