THANK YOU FOR THIS POST.I KNOW PETE HEWLETT FROM BEING ON THE PITTSBURGH MUSIC SCENE.REALLY COOL GUY.HE HAS MORE CREDITS THAN PEOPLE REALIZE.AGAIN.THANK YOU
I have Known Jack Griffith since the days when he played with "Skiffle" back in Charleston, W.Va. back in the late 70's. Great guy and a great musician. His dad was pretty big in the country/bluegrass music scene back in the 50's and early 60's BTW, the 3 P'up 1961 Gibson SG Custom featured on the album cover Jack's personal favorite) was burnt up in a fire a few years back when Jack's Charleston studio caught fire. A lot of vintage equipment was lost in that fire. Jack still plays and records.
dlflash56 ...I lived in Charleston in the late seventies, was in a band there. I remember Skiffle with Jackie and I believe the other guitarist was Tom Benson. They were a tight band. The singer’s name I forget, think he use to have a group called Mountain Breeze
REALLY, THE FIRST TIME I BUY THIS VINYL, NEVER IMAGINE ME FINDING SIMILAR AND FANTASTIC MUSIC, I RECOMMEND YOU TO LISTEN TO THE JACK GRIFFITH SOLISTIC DISK (GUITARRISTA DE NOVO COMBO) AND ALSO EVEN THANK YOU! BEAUTIFUL BAND!
Oh how sad about that guitar! What a shame. But that's cool that you know him! My sister quasi-does too, through Facebook. She's become friends with quite a few musicians on there.
Too MUCH WAY TOO MUCH 'drumbo' comparisions with them and that putrid Gordy Stingy nonsense for these foursome to get seriosuly recognized! Great 2 albums of pure magic!
Had this 30 years ago. Not sure what happened to it. Then I found a mint-ish copy still in shrink wrap within the freebie bin at a local store on International Record Store Day April 20th. Sorry (For The Delay) is one of my favourite cuts...nice to own the LP once again. Very tight band...good example of musicians adapting to the new wave sounds of that time. Very tough time for anyone trying to make that transition. Sad they didn't carry on much longer as a unit.
Just bought their first 2 albums on CD, always wanted to get them.
These guys are vastly underated. Great music and thank you for giving them their due credit.
Wow, thanks so much! It makes me so happy that even several years after I uploaded these, people still appreciate them. :-) You just made my day.
