I've been looking for this video for AGES! I'm 28 now but when I was a kid I used to watch this video every day in awe, for it's time it was absolutely stunning, and it made me save up to buy the DO -27. The day it came through the post I was so excited. It was also my first time hearing beach song, which I then learnt to play on the keyboard. It's frankly mad how much this video meant to me as a young boy. Very happy memories!
wow, what are the chances! I've been looking for this video because I just loved the scenery. 15 years ago this looked beyond realistic lol. I wanted to know the location to fly it on FS2020.
Nice to see this video is still being watched. ;) It's FS9 and thanks for the kudos. The video turned out well. :) There's a link in the description to my original posting of the video ( can download higher quality there too if you want ). My specs are also in my signature on that forum. Thanks again.
:O wow. That video make FSX look so beautiful. I mean, the cockpit looks real, the takeoff runway and area looked real, the flyby the city looked real... damn, why can't I have a computer as good as his!?!
That was quite impressive...the detail of PDX was outstanding! You should post a vid flying around downtown...rose quarter, lloyd center, Mt. Hood even.
As it hasn't been mentioned for a few days, lets just remind folks watching this video the detials. The aircraft is the Digital Aviation (distributed by Aerosoft)DO-27. The scenery as stated above is Flight Zone 2 Portland, made by Flight Scenery. The simulator used in this video is Microsofts FS9. This scenery is not 100% comaptable with FSX and the developer has shown little interest in making it so. The Dornier has now been released for FSX.
That's an amazing video quality! It's a pity that most of the quality gets lost in uploading to youtube. I'd really love to know your sistems details: I would KILL to be able to get that framerate with that quality! Thanks for sharing
As for how the head moves, lookup the trackir system from natural point. This is a system which basically allows you to control which way the camera looks in addition to zooming in and out....hoping to get one for my birthday.
ROFL Someone posted my movie and just now finding out about it. :P I haven't read all the comments but this is FS9 w/ FlightScenery's FlightZone02: Portland scenery. .. and the Digital Aviation Dornier Do-27. :P
Oh and finally, the plane is the gorgeous Dornier D027 from Dodosim. Many of the addon aircraft for FS9 are just beautiful. A lot of the Flying Club aircraft by just flight are stunning but dodosim are pure class
@blow1977 Because the guy that developed it was a master, optimizing it over and over again. It was really fps freindly and the vehicles you see moving hadn't any hit either. He was going to do an FSX version but dissapeared without saying goodbye. You can get both the scenery 'Flightzone 02' and the DO27
This is definately not FSX. It is a scenery addon for FS9 called "Flightzone 02 Portland" and you can get it from "Flightscenery com". Reviewed in PC Pilot last month. Well worth buying...hardly any hit on fps and even has moving traffic!! Beautiful. Musthave for FS9 flyers
No, it's not available for FSX. I'm the admin for the guys that created the scenery. No, this video is not FSX. It is FS9 w/ a scenery package and an airplane addon.
awesome!!! my fsx lags very much!...what system requirments u have?? and was this tutorial or u have done this...and where is the flight school in fsx?? please reply fast!!
dude what mods or add-ons are you using to make it look more realistic. i mean like the traffic in the city and some of the buildings. did you do photoreal textures? nice... also what are you using to get those camera movements, it's almost like head movement
For those of you thinking this is FSX, use your eyes! This is FS9, just look at the tree-textures! Portland addon scenery and probably an high-ress plane + TrackIR for the "moving arround in cockpit"-effect. Duh.
Have u guyes ever heared of FSX DELUXE? its not the regular one u buy in stores, its a deluxe-edition wich gives u more advantage and better graphics and more features of ur flightsim then in the "regular" FSX...
i say it's FSX.aside from the title that the user claims it to be! watch his other video FSX ultra high quality.how the ocean looks can only mean that this guy posted FSX vids.and notice the date this video was posted.just 5 days earlier from that vid. moving cars+camera shake in the cockpit(FSX deluxe edition)=FSX this video IS FSX!
Cool i dindt know the controls shakes when engines turned on,cant wait to have creti car with lots of money and by everything for my fs9 and fsx and by the way well done on that video.!!
To lay it down (again), this is NOT FSX. It's FS9 with Digital Aviation's Dornier Do-27 ( available through Aerosoft ) and the scenery is FlightScenery FlightZone02: Portland. See the link in the description for the original video that I made.
But how did he get the moving cars and vehicles? That's a FSX feature, not a FS9 one, unless the scenery includes moving vehicles. And also, how did he have the realistic "bobbing" of the aircraft on the runway unless he had FSX?
I just purchased this plane and scenery. Pretty kool. You get a free upgrade for the FSX version. If you want decent fps and max gfx for fs9,try using a 79000gtx 2gig of ram and atleast a 3ghx P4
Hi, I think I pretty much have the same specs as you and you can get a decent frame rate of about 20fps on medium approaching high level graphics. Hope that helps. Definately worth the buy
AMD 3500+ Asus A8V Deluxe 2GB Kingston HyperX DDR400 300GB 7200 RPM S-ATA HD 256MB eVGA GeForce 6800 Ultra Got it off his forum post. Looks amazing for a 6800 Ultra.
Ya it appeared as if the props were in feather, and the mixture was idle cutoff, and someone forgot to raise them up prior to start. Still a kick ass video.
hey is that FSX,, if yes,, hw cum u can open the engine doors n stuff like hw u did in the video..? and wat software u r using to create those video.. coz i got tonnes of fsx video n dont knw hw to edit it n name it like hw u did .. ?
Does Windows Vista boost up your frame rates, which verson? I have XP, my computer has an graphics card only to support fs2004, with fsx, i get 1-2 fps.
how do you do that on FSX like go outside ur aircraft and like open the door and engine and put it on blocks? i just got FSX so im not really familiar with it

Very nice. The graphics and the effects are awesome.
That music is from the movie: True Romance, written by Quentin Tarantino!
And I love this video!

No, it's not available for FSX. I'm the admin for the guys that created the scenery.
No, this video is not FSX. It is FS9 w/ a scenery package and an airplane addon.
HAHA That looks great. who needs FSX? It looked like you were controlling the throttle with the mixture lever? I've never seen that before...
Amazing graphics!!
Not true, in FS9 with a virtual cockpit you can look in any direction at any angle you wish.
The headset he uses allows him to do so smoothly.
awesome!!! my fsx lags very much!...what system requirments u have?? and was this tutorial or u have done this...and where is the flight school in fsx?? please reply fast!!
Wow.. amazing video really!
Can u tell me what are the PC specs to have such dispaly?

HEY does it work with one of those joysticks like in a plane for the computer though?
I just purchased this plane and scenery. Pretty kool. You get a free upgrade for the FSX version. If you want decent fps and max gfx for fs9,try using a 79000gtx 2gig of ram and atleast a 3ghx P4
wow!! great graphics.. what graphic card do you have?
yeah your right! I stand to be corrected!!
Hi,
I think I pretty much have the same specs as you and you can get a decent frame rate of about 20fps on medium approaching high level graphics. Hope that helps. Definately worth the buy
this was in portland oragen correct?
does FSX have that checklist thing where you can open the engine panels and put the stoppers around the wheels ect.
AMD 3500+
Asus A8V Deluxe
2GB Kingston HyperX DDR400

Cool video! Awesome!
