The scene with Boothill is actually already part of the next quest. Seeing ppl play after the whole story was released makes me realize how much these quest flow into each other, so seeing the start and end points is getting rly hard
At the end part where you said they should've ended it after Sunday's death, they actually did. At the end of the quest you get teleported to the astral express, but the astral express is where the 2.2 quest starts with the scene with Boothill. Wish they gave you a choice tbh.
I'm glad to see you finally played 2.1 but I suggest you take yourself a GOOD amount of time before even thinking of starting 2.2 because that story takes around 8-9 hours if you don't skip through the dialogue
yess it was FAB! I will be playing 2.2 over a couple of days I think and then putting it into one single video, I definitely am not going to be skipping dialogue or doing it all in one sitting! :) Not in any rush tho, will be up in probably 2 weeks maybe less!

2:11:30 this whole part is Welt retelling what happens later in HI3rd part 1 story, with the OST from HI3 and context made me tear up when playing this. Knowing that he's talking about the story won't take away from experiencing it yourself since he's speaking in metaphors that you'll only understand if you've completed part 1 of HI3rd.

@@georgieegames I will patiently await the day you do decide to go back and finish part 1. For me part 1 of HI3 is still the best story I've experienced so far and it will be really difficult for anything to come close.

Gallagher's conversation about how Hanu is Hanunue and Clockie is the Watchmaker touches on a major revelation: All but one of the named Clockie characters are based on real figures that helped shape either Penacony's or the Watchmaker's past, though you likely won't be able to figure out who every character corresponds to until you beat 2.2's story and complete both the Clockie movie event and a sidequest from an Origami Bird that unlock from it. Said movies are also fairly accurate non-Family propagandized representations of Penacony's history if you can correctly interpret the characters and their actions.
The one character who does not fit this pattern is Hamster Ball Knight, who is based on Hamz, a realistic-looking hamster who is Penacony's longtime undefeated Spheroid Racing champion. The Watchmaker was fond of him, so he started putting him into his cartoons, where his popularity exploded to the point where he had equal billing to Hanu in the theme park.

This quest is what made me start playing hi3. So, later on, when I was playing through Elysian Realm and saw Kevin ask Herrscher of Thunder, the same "do you still dream" question that Acheron asks Sam, it was so surreal. Hoyo loves connecting everything.
Ohhhhh wow! I love that they have been connecting them! NGL playing this has made me want to go back to finish part 1 and play post honkai odyssey for the links honestly!
@@georgieegames yeah there's a *lot* of stuff connecting the two games. The devs have said they don't wanna make it so you *have* to play hi3, but it definitely makes the easter eggs more effective. Even during the 2nd convo between welt and Acheron, they play "For Kevin" as Welt talks about him. I haven't gotten to that part yet though. Even some things I saw from hi3, that really show how much thought they put into connecting characters. I won't say now, so hopefully I'll remember when you do 2.2. Also not sure if you've seen the myriad Celestia trailers for everflame mansion and Acheron. The Acheron one, the male voice you hear is the same VA in other languages, that was used for Kevin in hi3.
@@georgieegames forgot to mention, the line Acheron tells Aventurine towards the end, about how even if the destination is the same, the journey to it can change its meaning, was also said by Kevin to Mei in the first era in one of the hi3 mangas.
@@georgieegames also whoops. I guess you must've done the 2.1 quest while in the parlor car, cuz it automatically went right into 2.2 😅 (starting from where boothill has Dan Heng at gunpoint). That happened to any player that had their trailblazer in the parlor car once 2.2 started. Cuz 2.1 story *did* end when Sunday got stabbed. It just automatically moved you into the 2.2 story right after.
5:07:23 is actually the start of 2.2, the end of the 2.1 story automatically puts you on the train and 2.2 starts as soon as you arrive on the train with the exchange between Dan Heng and Boothill so the end was the cutscene with Gallagher and Sunday.
5:28:05 about the ending, they did end it at sundays death for 2.1 and i remember waiting so long for 2.2 to release
This quest did actually end with the Sunday death oringinally. Not sure why it goes a little further now, but we all had to wait until 2.2 for Boothill to show up on the Astral Express.
@@JustinSchuller Maybe after 2.1 you directly teleport the the Express which instantly triggers 2.2 story quest so thats probably the reason

5:28:13 Quest part 2.1 actually ends after Sunday's death. The part where Dan Heng meets Boothill is actually at the beginning of quest 2.2. I don't know why Hoyo decided to immediately continue the ending quest 2.1 to the beginning of quest 2.2, but back when quest 2.2 wasn't released yet, the quest stopped after Sunday died in 2.1

And in regards to your comments on the ipc, I highly recommend you read Boothill's character story in the character menu.
While they didn't fix a bunch of other stuff they claimed, good to see they did fix the Sunday line. (before, it would cut off before he said "minion of the enigmata" at the end)

4:29:11 Fun fact this is the nerfed version of the boss, for the first day or so he hit like 30/40% harder and i think he had more health.
And so many people couldn't beat him and complained so they had to nerf it and to make this even funny the New SU version of this boss got removed because if you picked certain buffs you couldn't actually beat him lol.

But, they have prepared for this too. In 2.0 story there is a part where Firefly talks to mecha. That's why Georgie thinks Firefly is related to SAM in some way and doesn't think that Firefly is SAM. Normally the 2.1 ends with Sunday getting stabby stabbed. The game probably triggered 2.2 story quest because after 2.1 story quest ends you teleport to the Express and it immediately triggers the 2.2 quest lol

the 2.1 story is what made a lot of people change their opinion on Aventurine, and for good reason. he's an amazing character
and yes, the 2.1 story ends at 5:07:14 where they teleport you to the Express afterwards, which also happens to be where the 2.2 story starts. a bit unfortunate, but not something we can do about unless the devs change the location of where they teleport us after the quest
Hope you were able to read the quest descriptions during the Aventurine theme park segment, as well as when he was in the Nihility zone, there's some cool stuff in there.
In 2.3 there's a *very* important one, when the quest step is called "Rest under the moonlight", to the point where the ending of 2.3 is not as impactful. Idk why they don't give it to you as a readable instead.
The Aventurine fight is hard, so don't feel bad about it. You actually did pretty well!
I'd never imagined seeing Gallagher and Physical Caelus of all people carrying this fight, haha!

It’s actually really interesting how intricate Aventurine’s plan was. If you go back, any time Aventurine and Ratio interacted was scripted. Even back to their conversation in 2.0.
Many times it’s said how the Family has eyes everywhere, so they had to be extra carful in what was said.
It was done in way to give Sunday a certain impression of the two. It made Aventurine look utterly incompetent, making Sunday believe that Aventurine could be fooled.
And it made Ratio look like he hated the guy, because otherwise, how believable would it really be that Ratio, a guy who commonly has to work with the IPC, to betray one of their high ranking members?
It’s actually implied that Ratio wasn’t supposed to talk to Aventurine after the “betrayal” since, why would you go talk to the guy you just sold out? But Ratio would rather risk blowing their cover to make sure Aventurine is all right.😂
It’s also pretty funny that their quest is called “Double Indemnity” and the song you get from completing it is “Spellbound.” Both are romance movies that the plot actually has some connection to what happened in the 2.1 quest… so that’s something.😂

ITS SO GOOD! I am still an emotional WRECK! I initally wasn't going to because of the length but after a few people suggested I try to keep it to one part, I feel like I made the right choice. 2.2 is going to be LONG though XD

If this already 5 hours I couldn't imagine how long the video for 2.2 quest later. Be prepared the whole quest will connect a lot of dots later on so make sure you'll fully prepared for bumpy ride.

They did a great job with Aventurine/Kakavasha. When I met him, I wanted to slap him in the face but after his quests, there are few characters in this game I wouldn't throw under a bus to save him haha.
2:14:20 In case you are still confuse here, Acheron told Welt that what she went through in her past was almost identical to Welt's story. but in her past she was the only one who end "that man" life alone mean while in HI3 ended differently, you could say that Acheron is Raiden Mei but end up with the worse ending in her world. that's also why Acheron said " I am not who you think I am. nor will my home be as fortunate as your world"

Good show with getting through this part. I also had struggles getting through the Adventurine battle. Luckily my Acheron is fully built now and I will never struggle again!
It is a shame that Firefly's banner practically spoils that big reveal though. Too bad you didn't get a chance to pull for her because she has been INSANE! A real game changer.

Hoo boy, I wish I could experience 2.1 all over again. Not gonna lie, in 2.0 I was rolling my eyes at Aventurine for the "dO yOu KnOw hOw mUcH mOnEy 10 MiNuTeS CoSt", but also feeling kinda bad for the way others were treating him? Was still going to pull for him because I needed a second shielder. And then boom, 2.1 happened. The moment Aventurine offhandedly mentioned how he tried to kill himself several times just to see if it would stick, I was like "...oh. ohhh. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" and then it just kept getting better from there, AND the whole theme park section was tailor-made for me personally (especially the quest descriptions, I love it when the game interface gets in on the fun for narrative purposes), AND Aventurine's dynamic with Ratio and the talk with Acheron are my everything, AND he outplayed everyone! Penacony as a whole is great, but 2.1 is the dearest to me.
Also, more fuel to Ratio x Aventurine: it's not just "Ratio cares", it's "Ratio, the man who is known for his practice of telling people to think for themselves and solve their own problems, directly giving Aventurine a hint and words of encouragement (and risking blowing their cover in the process)". Also, I highly recommend watching Aventurine's Keeping Up with Star Rail vid 😉
Yay you got past the biggest spoiler about Firefly's identity! I highly recommend checking out the Myriad Celestia and trailers related to her for some more background before spending more time with her.
As for the Topaz/Jade lines at the end, my guess is they were meant to convey that after he entered Acheron's "realm", Aventurine just vanished from their pov.
I'd love if Pom-Pom started to walk around calling everyone muddlefudger on the Express. The Astral Express is about to make the jump, muddlefudgers! 😂

i suppose it immediately threw you into the next quest because the quest left you in the carriage, where the next starts

And don't question why I even still remember that. I just do. (You can also notice that his voice effect is a little different on those two lines)
And damn. At 3:31:08 where Jade says "May your schemes be forever concealed." She didn't say it that way. She used to say "May your plans never suffer failure." It kinda sounds like a reference to Gaiathra Triclops now.

after playing the quest on release came the realization it was not even the finale and that was insanity.
The Scene where Welt and Acheron talk about their Pasts, Welt Mentioned the "Man" he watched, that was not Adam from APHO, but it was Kevin, but also the "Myth" about Icarus and his Wax Wings soaring to the sky.
Acherons past is a bit troublesome because it all hints that Acheron Got the Bad Ending in her Past

not me realizing that the 2.1 ending (sunday getting stab) transitions immediately to 2.2 beginning (dan heng meeting boothill). i played the story immediately at release, so i got a pause in between. but to those, like you, who play when both 2.1 and 2.2 is already out, you get to see the transition, and thats crazyyyyyyyyyy

It's just that the 2.2 quest auto starts the moment you teleport to the express and for some reason the game considered you being there after the boss fight.
But honestly, I'm glad we got to see your reaction to when Boothill appears, a lot of people started it by accident and most playthroughs I watched so far missed that part.

So fun little fact, when Gallagher says he's 13 he obviously didnt mean that was his actual age. In tarot readings 13 is the number of the Death Arcana, which ties with his connection to the death meme creature. Also *props* to Aventurine's character development. He went a complete 180 from 2.0 to 2.1. It's also crazy that this is Camden's (Aventurine's VA) first ever voice acting role, also his boss battle was nerved after like 1 day XD

Okay. Let me tell you. Your bias towards Acheron gives me life and makes me very happy, because my own reasons for trusting our dear misdirected Acheron, are basically the same. I got lured into playing honkai star rail the moment her character was leaked for the game, and I'm not that big of a fan of turn based combat. This was like, a month before Acheron's banner became available. But I found the game enjoyable, with its own charm and a story worth experiencing. So by the time Penacony started I had caught up and was ready to dive in head first. Best impulsive decision I've made to date.
Yes. I'm a Honkai Impact 3rd Captain. When Acheron met the trailblazer for the first time and stated: call me whatever you like, I don't care (something to that effect). I was like: Mei-senpai! I'm calling her, Mei-senpai. What? She gave me permission!
But, yeah! You're in for a ride, fellow Captain! So, strap in and look out for the Hi3 references. There's a lot and all of them hit you in the feels!
The shock combos at the end was me when I did this quest, btw I also think Sunday deserve that for being bitchy to my Kakavasha

Oh wow now I'm wondering if my memory is broken or if they shifted some scenes between quests bc I thought that Robin's body was the final scene in the first quest and that the reveal of Gallagher was the final scene in the second quest with the Boothill and Acheron scenes being in the beginning of the third

Probably the quest triggered due to her being in the right location. Because after 2.1 quests you'll be teleported into Astral Express and 2.2 will start when you're in Astral Express. So yea, the 2.2 quest triggered itself while 2.1 should've ended at the Gallagher scene.
