In the early 90's,, a copper pulled me over at night as I was going home and was extremely hostile from the start. He looked in my boot and saw some tools and said to me in a nasty manner 'Those are handy for breaking into the building up the road', accusing me of going equipped for a break in. He then looked into my car and saw a my bag, which I had a Chess set in, which was slightly sticking out. He asked me 'Is that a Chess set?' To which I replied, 'Yes'. His next words were, 'Think you're a clever bastard?', I thought about my Chess skills and replied 'Yes'. Twice now I've had an irate officer be hostile from the start for no reason. I'm super polite. The last time they had followed me for ages before pulling me over and the guy was clearly trying to bait me into an argument form the start and the fact i was so polite made him angrier.

Yeah Charlie, 91 is far too fast for our congested roads these days. By an old MGB. You'll think you're doing 100 when only doing 65! Much more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
Had a "B" back in the 80's. Great fun but really don't think I'd like one today, not on these roads and especially in the -7°C we had this morning. I've become way to soft driving Mercs for the last 20+ years with their fancy pants heated seats, seating wheels, windscreens, door mirrors and cabin heaters (air-con) that actually work. 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers 🍺

Surprisingly, not always. I was absolutely gobsmacked when I got done this year for 6 points and £1200 fine and fully expecting my premium to at least double. I called the insurance (Churchill) and they said "thanks for letting us know, we will record this on your file, there will be no change to your premium" - this was on a policy that had renewed about 2 weeks previously. I'd imagine there's a high chance that next year's premium might be impacted by the points but absolutely astonished that I didn't have to pay them any extra this year. I am over 50 and had a previously unblemished driving record without any accidents or claims so that may be something to do with it.
Another great video, if you was from London like I was you would of been stopped at least once a month, you can always tell when the government is skint as they would put pressure on them to dish out fines and points, I have never gone 3 years without 3 points, ironically now I live in the midlands now I have had no points or fines in 10 years,
I got pulled over last year in my 1976 Mini. Trying to explain that It didn't legally require an MOT, was like having a conversation with a plank of poorly trained wood. But I guess that's Humberside 'police' for you. They actually admitted to me, that there were a selection of courses that they never got to attend. Scary stuff.
u should do more videos like this / this format or telling us some of your life experiences, so many questions to ask, i.e have u ever stumbled upon a dead body on accident, or a crimescene to be, or whats the worst fight that you have ever been in,, or maybe about any of your weirdest shroom experiences etc.. just random things that have either happened, or just how you experienced something from your point of view, like maybe whats the best/worst job youve ever worked (i assume you would say you had most fun doing youtube)
Back in 2000 I got caught doing 115mph on the A12 (Essex) by a cop in an unmarked Vauxhall Senator. The copper was actually OK, he wrote "In excess of 70 mph" on my ticket.. I got 3 Points and £80 fine. I got lucky that day and haven't been caught since.
A friend of mine swapped his (old) BMW for his wife's small car because he got so many tickets driving all round the country and often wouldn't know where the speed cameras were. They're everywhere and making a tidy buck!
91mph actual means speedo probably showing 95+. That's pretty reckless to be honest if you had no clue you were doing it. Too fast for a speed awareness course I think - the cut off for that is around 87mph. Live and learn!
oh dear, oh dear, oh dear charlie boy, your insurance after this is going to cost you £300-£400 a year more because of this,MAYBE more, anyway, let`s face it , you`ve been VERY lucky over the years, i`ve warned you numerous times b4 when i`ve seen you driving AND using your phone while filming, DON`T deny it , you can`t kid a kidder, BUT big respect to you charlie, at LEAST you owned up to it .......😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I'm a 44yr old who's also been driving since he was 17... I have a 1982 Pick Up Truck with 50bhp and a 2023 EV with 400+ Bhp... on both I'm able to know what speed I'm doing as well as driving safely lol. Although aside from mocking your excuse for speeding... I do think 70 mph is a little slow for newer cars when it's a nice day with no traffic :)
I have this brilliant idea for a device that might fit on the dashboard, that shows you the speed you are traveling at. I have named it the velocicorder, but whoever gives me loads of cash for the idea can call it what they like.
Welcome to the club Charlie. You'll get over it 😉 Never, ever, ever hire a Toyota Yaris or a Horris as we call them. One actively tried to kill us while overtaking a lorry in France a few years back. It didn't have enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding, let alone accelerate on a the slightest of uphill gradients. The oncoming HGV driver was very understanding 🤣🤣🤣 Too little power is as bad as too much, cheers 🍺
Ask BBB... I think it is possible that if you had said you didn't know you were going so fast before you had the "ticket issued" then you could leave yourself liable to a charge of driving without due care and attention.
That's a good run Charlie. When I was 16, I lost my license, before I got the fucking thing 😂 Even way back in 1991, being old enough, having tax, insurance and MOT, were all legal requirements. It's crazy 🤷♂
A humbling experience isn't it. Funny story for you: A similar dressing down was given to me when pulled over, although Sergeant Plod gave the duty of the dressing down to, what seemed to me, to be the baby apprentice copper. He was very thorough and I was very compliant and helpful especially as I could see he was nervous. All ended just so. He then said I could go on my way and the Sergeant remained leaned over the roof of the patrol car having not interjected once. I hesitated a moment before speaking.... but I couldn't help myself..... I said "with all due respect to you and the police force, it was difficult taking you seriously through your questioning as quite simply I have Pants in my draw that are older than you son" Sergeant was hiding his laughter.... errr crying with laughter. Baby cop didnt know what to do next and just stood there. I left. No harm done other than Baby cop will have been ribbed for it back at base. 🙂(i couldn't help it ) 😆
Don't get out of your car until you know why. Don't get into his car at all unless arrested of course, it allows him complete authority over you, he does it for a reason. Don't confess to anything, "With respect officer I don't believe I was", even with his little gotcha vid, it might be wrong. Don't give any information you don't need to or allow him to fish. His purpose is extract money from you and his chit chat / questioning is to get you to confess. You can do all this in a very respectful and polite manner. The police are a "for- profit" corporation / business and are registered as such.
Yes every single one of us do, nobody who owns a BMW ever sticks to the limit, we all drive too fast and none of us ever indicate, we are all kunts. And we couldn't give a shit what a pathetic little hating pleb like you thinks.
Charlie, when he asked you "Is there a reason you are speeding?" All you had to say was "Yes... My boyfriend is pregnant!" I am sure in these strange times not only would he have let you off, but you would have probably got a police escort to the hospital! 😁👍
Take the speed awareness course, i think you'll enjoy it. I've been driving for 30 years, but I still learnt plenty that can make me a better and safer driver.
Had crappy cars all my life but after decades slogging at my business it finally took off and allowed me to buy a house and a nice car, I went from a Seat Ibiza to a Jaguar XE R and within a month found myself with the first speeding ticket of my life. I drive out of the Jaguar garage onto a dual carriageway, saw two Trucks overtaking each other that I have to give way too but the gap was quite big so I pulled out doing about 30mph put my foot down, the car went crazy fast and I ended up going 8mph over the limit right as a speed camera got me. You have to learn to drive slow when you own a powerful car.
Well done to that decent Police Constable for up holding the law (that applies to all of us in England and the United Kingdom). And for you to attempt to dispell that decency (when you drove 21mph above the legal and lawful speed limit) exposes the entitlement you feel you have "established" with a certain Police Constabulary (which is not right or lawful). Or it could be the realiisaltion that you are not above the law... No matter whom you feel you are connected with... And that the reason you have been held accountable (by a decent and fair British Police Constable) was based purely upon your speed and not the vehicle you was driving at the time. Lee
I rented the same car (in black / tinted windows too) in Spain - the hybrid battery runs out very quickly - the car is very heavy - its a fairly quick car nothing mind blowing but very heavy due to battery and hybrid internals - so sluggish too
Be careful and don't say "I didn't realise I was going xxx mph". I was in a car with my dad once, and he got done for speeding AND driving without due care.
Going above ninety will be more than 3 points and the fine will be a percentage of your weekly wage. The points stay on your licence for four years and will increase the amount you pay for you insurance. You need to inform your insurance provider as soon as you get the points, not wait until the renewal date.
or how about go on the course, not take the points, not tell the police your wage, and not tell the insurance company. Bending over and taking it, just for doing what every motorway driver does, wouldnt be my choice. I drove for the entire year i was banned and still pat myself on the back for doing so.

Nice to see you making excuses like everyone else does when they get caught speeding.😂
Oh dear. You missed the point.
think your in shit ive been driving 44 years no points never been stopped someone has reported to dvla anyone can doo it online its sick they said ive got memmory loss muscle weakness ,My doctor said no none off this do DVLA ,theyve sent me too there own doctor on the 10th 01 ,now i have too wate .
Well done on making it to the promised land mate, hope u spend the cash on the bairns.
Trouble is Charlie, the Insurance premiums go up drastically. Well at least you wasn’t in the States.
Another great video, if you was from London like I was you would of been stopped at least once a month, you can always tell when the government is skint as they would put pressure on them to dish out fines and points, I have never gone 3 years without 3 points, ironically now I live in the midlands now I have had no points or fines in 10 years,
Unlucky Charles but great that it's the 1st time you have gained licence points. Good for you fella. 👋👋👋👍
Surprised it hasn’t been sooner with your frequent mobile phone use behind the wheel in past videos! Stay safe.
Yawn.
@@noelward8047 This is Charlie undercover
@@noelward8047Boring
true that !
Modern cars are way safer. The cars when they set speedlimits were rubbish.
My BMW M5 landed me a 2 year ban and DD40 endorsement, don't feel too bad, Charles!
You got a ticket, whaaaaaaa.
Scary stuff.
u should do more videos like this / this format or telling us some of your life experiences, so many questions to ask, i.e have u ever stumbled upon a dead body on accident, or a crimescene to be, or whats the worst fight that you have ever been in,, or maybe about any of your weirdest shroom experiences etc.. just random things that have either happened, or just how you experienced something from your point of view, like maybe whats the best/worst job youve ever worked (i assume you would say you had most fun doing youtube)
seconded.... it's chill, and everyone loves a good story with a bit of a thrill and excitement in the mix of it
@@jamesjackson5020 for sure, plus his overly serious yet sarcastic way of explaining things is great, no matter the topic
I was a biker from being 17yo, I was pulled over many times, 10 times in one day once, never charged, was just for the joys of being a biker (1970s)
lmfao being bald is a sign of what ? lol
You've got money to throw away, all these rental vehicles
To cut a long story short. He was speeding.
Does this car not have heads up display?
Charlie got the BMW free from the occupation government in Germany as H-caust reparations.
There onto you now. Next will be you're bank account.
A friend of mine swapped his (old) BMW for his wife's small car because he got so many tickets driving all round the country and often wouldn't know where the speed cameras were. They're everywhere and making a tidy buck!
Thought there was going to be something more exciting to this story than being done for speeding
91mph actual means speedo probably showing 95+. That's pretty reckless to be honest if you had no clue you were doing it. Too fast for a speed awareness course I think - the cut off for that is around 87mph. Live and learn!
oh dear, oh dear, oh dear charlie boy, your insurance after this is going to cost you £300-£400 a year more because of this,MAYBE more, anyway, let`s face it , you`ve been VERY lucky over the years, i`ve warned you numerous times b4 when i`ve seen you driving AND using your phone while filming, DON`T deny it , you can`t kid a kidder, BUT big respect to you charlie, at LEAST you owned up to it .......😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
CV being pulled in the back of a car by someone in uniform.....narf narf....
No good, it will get in the way of a laptop and mobile phone, it will never take off.
You should of said, "Oh, I've just bought some new shoes and the soles are a bit heavy." 😂
Ask BBB... I think it is possible that if you had said you didn't know you were going so fast before you had the "ticket issued" then you could leave yourself liable to a charge of driving without due care and attention.
that's just the start of your problems
90mph is dangerous driving, especially in winter conditions.
And on the German autobhan you can drive at 190mph yet nobody says that is dangerous, funny that huh......
I said
"with all due respect to you and the police force, it was difficult taking you seriously through your questioning as quite simply I have Pants in my draw that are older than you son"
Sergeant was hiding his laughter.... errr crying with laughter.
100 percent don't help him investigate you. Nothing good comes from talking to them
Unless they are doing something to help you like find your lost wallet or whatever, then don't talk to them
How to say you are a sov' cit',,, without saying you are a sov' cit' 🤣🤣
How did Charles who claims benefits get a BMW 😂
They finally added your name to the ANPR harrass list
Bmw drivers all speed tbh
Yes every single one of us do, nobody who owns a BMW ever sticks to the limit, we all drive too fast and none of us ever indicate, we are all kunts.
And we couldn't give a shit what a pathetic little hating pleb like you thinks.
Didn’t you mention you are in the WhatsApp group ?
Charlie, when he asked you "Is there a reason you are speeding?" All you had to say was "Yes... My boyfriend is pregnant!"
I am sure in these strange times not only would he have let you off, but you would have probably got a police escort to the hospital! 😁👍
Poor copper would have gone into meltdown, quality answer.
Police inviting you to sit in the back of a car is a common intimidation tactic. Not obliged to do any of that.
Take the speed awareness course, i think you'll enjoy it. I've been driving for 30 years, but I still learnt plenty that can make me a better and safer driver.
It’s a TOR (traffic officers report) and also there is no longer the opportunity to produce your licence within 7 days. Thats olden days policing.
Hire cars are a target for police.
Take the paid driver awareness course if offered, no points, no fine, no increased insurance premium.
Sadly these points wont win you prizes.
Take the speed awareness course, get a free Highway code book
I got done once for 35mph in a Toyota Yaris.
I'm not joking.
A Toyota Yaris doesn’t go 35 you fibber
Well done to that decent Police Constable for up holding the law (that applies to all of us in England and the United Kingdom). And for you to attempt to dispell that decency (when you drove 21mph above the legal and lawful speed limit) exposes the entitlement you feel you have "established" with a certain Police Constabulary (which is not right or lawful). Or it could be the realiisaltion that you are not above the law... No matter whom you feel you are connected with... And that the reason you have been held accountable (by a decent and fair British Police Constable) was based purely upon your speed and not the vehicle you was driving at the time. Lee
I rented the same car (in black / tinted windows too) in Spain - the hybrid battery runs out very quickly - the car is very heavy - its a fairly quick car nothing mind blowing but very heavy due to battery and hybrid internals - so sluggish too
The more you talk ..the more you are sticking yourself in the shit.
Say nothing
Never woul'd I venture into any statement with the police. no matter how friendly the siuation is. Never Never Never.
Got done at 95, got 5 points (5?! Ffs) & £476.00 fine! M6 nr Knutsford. Oh I have a 330 😂
Years ago I was stopped by the police for using a mobile phone whilst driving... there was one problem.. I didn't have a mobile phone on me 😂
Be careful and don't say "I didn't realise I was going xxx mph".
@@meisterlymanu5214 The course isn't a choice, it is offered if your speed was just over the limit. As for the rest of your advice....
