Great video but I think you may have missed the point of Musashi's philosophy. The flow state he alludes to only comes after dedicated hours of disciplined practice, once the techniques have become drilled to the point that they are utilised subconsciously and reflexively when needed. They become second nature so to speak. Musashi devoted his life to 'The Way' and training every day.

@@gauravpratap8396 "You can only fight the way you practice" - Musashi. Any skill, combat or otherwise, takes hours of dedication and practice to become proficient at it. MMA for example requires hours of drilling the same techniques to the point of monotony, then drilling them some more. At which point, when you spar, these techniques will become second nature. This is when the state of 'no-mind' comes into play. This is the flow state. This is when the fighter fights on autopilot, no thought required. Because when you stop to think, it's over.

I learned this concept in internal martial arts. I finally gave up trying so hard. The results are unbelievable. I just let things go in my mind and finally became fluid and in the moment. Just give up trying to will your way though things.

It's like when I set out to make a drawing. Things flow better when I'm not trying hard to create something extra precise, symmetrical, etc. and instead just lightly move the pencil on the paper and let it happen while enjoying the process, instead of straining and thinking too much about every aspect of the act of drawing.
This whole subject remind me of that idea: _don't think, feel_

I was 18 years of age when I read a story about Musashi sleeping in before a duel to the death with an opponent on an island shore. He then seemingly casually killed his opponent & then moved on. I’m 56 now & that story has stuck with me all my life.

He did things like that - he would turn up late, or not have a katana but an ore, or a big stick, to 'kill' his opponent (he hid his sword). He used to play a fool as well. (much like the portrayal of a samurai by Toshiro Mifune in 'The 7 samurai '.
