I use to love this game. They don’t need to change a thing. It’s still better than today’s games in both graphics and gameplay. There’s only one thing that it needs. A freaking sequel..
Ryse: Son of Rome, by Crytek, made with their in house engine "CryEngine", released 2013. There is talk of a sequel coming. Great game, repetitive and simple combat, but with lots of animation flair. It wasn't designed to be a deep combat experience. It was designed to push the maximum output of the xbox one's graphics and animation with fluid animations and situational triggers within a compelling narrative. They achieved just that.
This was a launch title on the Xbox one (Nov 2013) , graphics still put modern games to shame and it has some of the best lip sync I've seen in any game to date

It can do with a remaster and the combat gameplay was what is really lacked on. People all said it should have adapted a more assassin creed type of intrinsic combat system rather than the same generic moves over and over. It was a graphics engine demo basically. Everything else about it really lacked

Or all of the above including the hun invasion, punic wars, crusades, edo japan, maya/inca….so much potential, legit endless stream of money if this quality is kept and upped with todays hardware

Was a badass games...all the power of the new consoles and all we get is side scrollers, cell shaded cartoon graphics, and halfassed games from 3A devs.
Game left me wanting more. It’s more of a movie experience than a game. The gameplay is repetitive but the cut scenes and kill animations are so good. As people have said it is gorgeous in 4K a testament to crytek and their engine. Many modern games look crap compared to this beautiful game. I wish the single player was longer. Gladiator mode was interesting but also very repetitive. I still want a sequel.
If it was on Playstation the whole media would have called it what it was: a graphics refference!! But on Xbox? Shit😂 Only because mainstream media could not get over the fact that Playstation had nothing compatable!😂

U def dont want to do a power shield bash every single time u do a bash lol. Thats y his combo keeps dropping to zero he doesn't even get to a good high combo n good executions or moves cuz of this. Ur supposed to use a regular shirld bash n sword strike like atlernating so to speak. N u can then do iccasional heavy sword attacks n heavy bashs. This is tough to watch. Not very skillful. N it still looks fun. U can even block the red atracks this guy rolls like crazy to get away from. Ughh for anyone who hasnt played this its worth a shot just know the combat is a lil deeper n better than this guy shows
