    I bought a Delta 2 in the summer when the refurb model dropped under $500. I wanted more backup capacity during brownouts and short blackouts while I work from home. But I just added the DJI Power 1000 to keep in my car. I could not beat the price of $480 during October Prime Days. I am a photographer who flies multiple DJI drones, so the SDC ports were the selling point. I can charge my Mavic 3 batteries about 50% faster than with the high-speed 120V charger. I can now charge Mavic batteries faster than I can consume them, and I have the USB-C ports for my Mini batteries and the 120V for my Canon chargers. This thing is never leaving my car, and my camera and drone batteries can now stay with it. Very convenient for someone who shoots or flies most days!
    In addition, the USB-C ports on the DJI are rated for 140W. I have not seen that throughput on any other unit yet.
    On the negative side, the fact that you have to pay extra for the cigarette charger or 12V power source and for the solar adapters is a little irksome. I also wish it came with the carry bag. Lastly, you hit on the annoying fact that the SDC ports are tied up if you're charging from 12V or solar. But it's still a perfect fit for my work style.

    With the Bluetti AC180 still going for $500, that's been my recommendation for several people who've had power outages lately - they're never going to go camping or get solar panels - they're never going to expand. All they want is a way to power their fridge, maybe run a laptop and charge their phones, and then charge from their car if they're still without power when the battery dies. It has a few more watt hours than either of these for at least $100 less (for now). If it doesn't have as many plugs on the front, who doesn't have a power strip laying around?

  • @ross2800

    I appreciate your content. I just recently started getting into solar for some emergency backup and bought the delta 3 plus (it arrives tomorrow). • @hustleeveryday6582

    I fly drones but it's not a big part of my life. My main reason for wanting a power supply was more for a backup for whatever I wanted to do, but I still went with the DJI. The main reason for this was because I knew about the DJI employees starting EcoFlow and even more so I was able to pick up the DJI on Amazon on a black Friday sale for $419 with a $40 coupon making it $380 and I couldn't pass at that price. The EcoFlow was very close in price at $399, but I just felt safe with the DJI. In terms of plugging in more than 2 outlets I have already tried a power strip and it works just fine, so that's a quick fix for that issue and I love how freaking quiet it is! The main issue with the DJI for me is the lack of other outputs like the accessory output like whats in a car and the ability to plug in solar panels directly to the unit. I have already purchased the add-on for the solar panels for $59 and some basic solar panels from Amazon so we'll see. I have until January to return it, but I think I am going to be more than happy with it!

  • @GabrielSBarbaraS
    @GabrielSBarbaraS 3 місяці тому +9

    So I am wondering here, why are we worried about amount of plugs on these power units when all you have to do is use a multi outlet strip. You are only going to pull about 15 amps for these devices at any one time anyway. Help me understand this? I have a Honda generator and it only has two plugs, but I can use a multistrip outlet and plug in as many appliances as I want, just can't run them all at the same time. Can we do the same with these solar gen/battery units. I like the ecoflow by the way.

      Honestly, this is what I do. I use an EcoFlow as a UPS for my computer system and router and Internet. In case of power failure, I'd quickly shut down my main system, leave my work system running (if applicable) and leave the router and Internet running. If it's all running, total wattage is around 200. Reducing to just work system and Internet/router, I'm down to 50. Post work, 15 watts.
      If I move it to run the refrigerator, then I just pull out the Internet plug and that goes down temporarily. I'd buy several, but...expensive.

    I've been shopping for a new power generator and I am leaning toward DJI. But not for the reasons you stated because I view DJI as a great software developing company that will continually innovate and expand their current/future products. EcoFlow has been and will continually be expanding their product line but in comparison to DJI, and this is my opinion: there is no comparison in software design/development. I admit I'm a bit biased because I own several DJI drones that have reliable kept flying but their track history of camera's, microphones, and now power generators is continually going to win more market share. The Power Expansion 2000, Fast Car Charger, and other SDC outlet accessories are only going to continually get better and more plentiful.

    Do they allow you to use the app without logging in to China? This was a complaint in the beginning of Eco-Flow.
    No one mentions that one locked out server could make your expensive Eco-Flow device inaccessible.

    I wonder what all is not usable from this device if you could not use the app. Can it be set up if you don't have internet access?

    I am just now looking into solar, power stations, etc and realizing that like a space heater will kill a power station in hour with use. WTH Dumb me was thinking that people are paying $$$ thousands, it must really be nice sh$$ -- stuff. To me, that is completely worthless. I have been without power for 4 days in Texas, those bonuses are more important than our grid, so this is no good. At least my gas generator lasted for a whole night. Am I missing something here? What is the hype about?

    • @Matt07924
      @Matt07924 29 днів тому +1

      Understandable. It is marketing hype. These power stations do have some advantages but one has to be cognizant of wattage. For an example, these could run electric blankets and lights and your Wifi during an outage. It can also run your refrigerator as well...how so? Remember refrigerators cycle - they can stay off for 1 hour and then turn back on. Anything that produces heat or has resistive operation (i.e. hair dryer) is not going to fare well with these generators. Key point during power outage is this...rationing! The goal is to preserve gas and propane reserves until grid comes back on. To me the power station is best for nighttime. No noisy generator and no worries about theft. Use generator to charge up battery bank and then turn off generator and put it away. Use battery bank to run whatever you need at night. Refrigerator, CPAP machine, light ,wifi, etc. Make sense? I feel your pain...Ecoflow, DJI, etc. they all are like circus barkers....

      @@Raznak yes I agree jackery is usually pricey for what they offer. I just recently reviewed their new explorer 2000 V2 and wasn't impressed. But the specs for the new 5000 are impressive comparing to the anker f3800 and the price is not bad either

    So, for all but 12 people watching this video...the EF is cheaper and better in pretty much every measurable category?

    EcoFlow Delta 3 Plus for me. I ordered last month with alternator charger. To bad the new batteries are not available yet. Good stuff, great solar input, lite weight, better form factor with relocation of fans, side dc port etc. 🌴

      Got mine today. Charged to 100% plugged my phone into the 140w usbc port and phone says its charging at super fast charging. Didn't even know that was a thing

    DJI seems like an overpriced battery charger for DJI products. It's worthless to a van lifer or, in my case, a truck camper.

    Honestly, I feel like the new V2 Jackery are the best. I just got the 2000wh v2 for $960 after tax everything with the same capacity is at least $1000 before tax so that’s easily 100+ dollars right there another thing Jackery is beating them is in weight the eco-flow is 50 pounds for the 2000 W hour in the blue Eddie is like 60 pounds where as the Jackery is 40 pounds for the same capacity that’s a big difference if you have to take it in a restaurant or something. Plus they have the new batteries so they last 4000 lifecycles so I mean overall I think the Jack version two is doing pretty well.

      You can get two DJI 1000s for that price if you catch the $370 sale price.

    Gold standard? Yeah, except during cold weather. They shut down 14 degrees and lower. Pointless.

    DJI situation with the Gov't could get worse... Aside from that, I love your honest reviews guys. Other creators have done a head to head, but check the video for the "paid promotion" tag and you'll see it's sponsored by DJI 😅

    The only reason ecoflow was put into the video was to get views. You know this comparison makes no sense.

    You can't just hook solar up to the DJI. You have to buy the optional, external, charge controllers. ($60 each)
