I’m not sure if myself or someone else already recommended this, but if you can find them, there are two audiobooks called Spock Vs Q and Spock Vs Q the seQuel… they’re hilarious stuff. They were written out as scripts that Leonard Nimoy and John DeLancie originally performed live in front of an audience at some Star Trek conventions and then later I believe re-recorded for the release of them on cassette and CD. Ah, Deja Q. One of my personal favorite TNG episodes. John De Lancie is just amazing in this episode. And the writing specifically is just *chefs kiss* Q's one liners in this one are top tier. Plus, the oddly sweet friendship Q and Data strikes up - terrific.
Such a great episode! And I absolutely love how much Q's gift to Data affected you. It does the same for me. As well as Q's little dialog to Data before he leaves the ship. And the summoned mariachi band is forever epic. 🥳
In my personal TNG journey, it took me some time to enjoy Q episodes, because he's such a tool. But now I get it, the combination of stuffy Picard with snarky Q is really clever and fun. Data's laughing was really fun, too, and when you sprinkle Jen's delightful reaction on top of it, it was a terrific moment.
Q's gift to Data at the end was just perfect - sure, Q had the power to literally make Data human, but Data didn't want that path to humanity; the gift was delightful and something Data would genuinely treasure. And it was very earned because Data had looked after and protected Q.
This is my 3rd favorite Q episode. Casting John de Lancie in this show as Q was really genius. I guess it's hard to prove that nobody else could have pulled off this role because, well, it's hard to imagine anyone else as Q, isn't it? Funny story. Not enough can be said for how perfect John de Lancie is as the character of Q, nor how remarkable that he and his character have had such a lasting impact on the franchise, given how few episodes and limited screen time he had to leave such a mark.
Q ordering a bunch of chocolate sundaes only to get stabbed by Guinan is consistently satisfying. But it's also good that they, in a manner of speaking, humanize him here.

Q is one of my all-time favorite ST characters. So much so, that my best friend found John de Lancie on Cameo and had him record a birthday greeting to me. He even touched on the fact she (my best friend) knew him from the soap opera Days Of Our Lives. It was very cool.
I used to see JDL at the movies at The Grove all the time, always with his preteen daughter and a dozen of her closest friends. He was always very mild-mannered and chill, and I always admired him for that, seeing the situation he was in.
This is a great 'fish out of water' story that provides alot of really good character development for Q, Data, and Guinan, of all people. The moment at the end where Data spontaneously bursts out laughing is probably my single favorite moment out of any episode in the entire series. The momentary pause in the fit, with the perfectly straight-faced turn towards everyone else before he starts cracking up again, along with Deanna's reaction, is just gold. I loved that Jen had the same reaction to that moment that I do, it's just so unexpected and joyous.
Missed the first half going live, glad I can go back through your log and pick it up again. Love any Q episode, they way he interacts with the crew he's like a disobedient unofficial member 😂
What a wondeful and funny episode,I laughed at several scenes with Q,the Mexican band in the last scene of this episode,it always makes me chuckle,a lot. LOL. Q meeting the other Q in the shuttle craft, their banter was GOOD,etc,etc,..this episode never ceases to amuse and entertain me.
Sure, Q is kind of an A-Hole (absolute power will do that), but he's a great character and John De Lancie plays him with a menacing yet irreverent glee that makes me anticipate his episodes. Plus, he provides some of the best comic relief in the entire series. Cheers and Happy Next Jen Sunday to All Y'all. 🥃🖖
Picard's exasperation towards Q is part of the reason I love Q so much! Lol. It's delightful to watch the two of them play off of each other. And I agree, Jen, Data and Q together is a wonderful pairing! :) Such a delight to watch this one again with you!
Eh, they get hired for everything in LA. One time, for one of my boss’ 50th bday, we had a mariachi band and a couple of lakers girls hanging out in our conference room, along with a taco bar and margaritas.
I appreciated the music and lower camera angles from Q's perspective with Picatd and Guinan. After "Q Who" with 18 dead, the Enterprise crew had justification to be hostile.
John Delance the actor that plays Q also had a role in my mothers soap opera "Days Of Our Lives" as Eugene. He played a whacky guy that on the show had hallucinations of a mermaid that he conversed with regularly. He had mental health problems but not serious ones. I think he stopped having the hallucinations when he got himself a real girlfriend named Caliope. She was played by Arleen Sorkin who also did the voice of Harly Quinn on Batman the Animated Show. He was fun to watch on that show also. Even though he gets a little annoyed if you bring it up at a con.
Excellent reaction yes the The queue continuum took his powers away because he dared to offer powered because he dared to offer the power commander: Ryker and he refused it so the idea of him trying to give the power of the Q to a human was very upsetting to them so that his powers away But then when he did something selfless to save the enterprise, he realize he learned but the issues his power so much get back to him besides, he’s the expert on humans. The Q need to keep an eye on humans. The laugh was a genuine human laugh only temporary because he wanted to stay android do you wanna be a human so Q had to make it short-lived? thanks for the fun until next time.
Q: "'cause I've been cleaning up your messes forever, Q, and I'm sick of it!" Q: "Hey! *I'm* not the one who misplaced the entire Deltivid asteroid system!" Q: "This isn't about me!!"
Jen, I'd love to see you react to "Legend," a short-lived (12 episodes) Western series, starring Richard Dean Anderson (McGyver, Stargate) as a novelist who gets repeatedly thrown into the role of reluctant hero, and John DeLancie (Q) as his inventor-friend who creates gadgets to build up his heroic reputation.
I think it's less that Data likes Q and more that he empathizes with him, because he also had a period of time where he didn't understand how to exist among humans.

Q's gift of laughter is one of my favorite moments in the series.
My head canon: Q interacted with medieval Norsemen, inspiring the myths about Loki.
5:25 The Orville did a similar joke paying homage to this scene. only with "sad food" the suggestion was ice cream, specifically Rocky Road. aside from the first couple episodes, and some of the out of place jokes, the show does a decent job of paying homage to The Next Generation, era
I love Q, John de Lancie is awesome! 😇
Your reaction to parts of this episode really excited me about your eventual reaction to Star Trek: Generations. I think you're gonna love it!
One of my favorite Next Jen episodes, so many great lines, funny situations. Guinan's fork will always make me laugh out loud.
Whenever I am depressed I watch this episode, it doesn't cure depression but it really helps to cheer me up a little bit.
Data laughing @ the end is comedy gold 😂
You continue to carry warmth and humour wherever you go. Thanks, Jen. 🙂🥰😘 xxx
I always loved " i can stub my toe with the best of them" and the book line. Love it
This is a great 'fish out of water' story that provides alot of really good character development for Q, Data, and Guinan, of all people.
One of my very favorite episodes of the whole amazing series! Great reaction, Jen!
Missed the first half going live, glad I can go back through your log and pick it up again.
Love any Q episode, they way he interacts with the crew he's like a disobedient unofficial member 😂
The second Q was played by Corbin Bernson of LA Law.
Data's laugh from Q is DEFINITELY among ST TNG; TOP TEN MOMENTS
Love this episode and will watch it when having a bad day just to see Worf’s Die line and Data’s laugh. Q is awesome
This was the episode shown when I was expecting the high ground.
My favorite thumbnail yet. It looks like Data is laughing at Q... to the shock of Jen.
This one helped make Q a little more loveable (omnipotent, bratty child that he is). LOL!
Nice call back to Bertold Rays mentioned in TOS.
I'm so glad you finally got to see data laugh Next Jen!!
Picard's exasperation towards Q is part of the reason I love Q so much! Lol. It's delightful to watch the two of them play off of each other. And I agree, Jen, Data and Q together is a wonderful pairing! :) Such a delight to watch this one again with you!
I always wonder what the mariachi band made of being hired for a Star Trek episode
Eh, they get hired for everything in LA. One time, for one of my boss’ 50th bday, we had a mariachi band and a couple of lakers girls hanging out in our conference room, along with a taco bar and margaritas.
I love how Picard says residue
I appreciated the music and lower camera angles from Q's perspective with Picatd and Guinan. After "Q Who" with 18 dead, the Enterprise crew had justification to be hostile.
When I was a kid and first saw this episode that’s all I could think of. They should have been more angry with him.
Another great Sunday afternoon with Jen and STTNG!
Commercial Break!
01:42 He did it! He did the thing!
Was he the guy who had the dream where Sorkin's character was dressed as a jester, thus inspiring Harley's creation in the first place?

Yes! I just remembered that as I read this!
@@angelohernandez6060 Huh. It's all connected.
Q: "'cause I've been cleaning up your messes forever, Q, and I'm sick of it!"
Q: "Hey! *I'm* not the one who misplaced the entire Deltivid asteroid system!"
Q: "This isn't about me!!"
Probably my favorite Q episode. Like when Guinan stabs his hand.
14:44 Our own Moon is 384,400 km away, so this moon is very close at 55,000 km!
Q and Data together, my two favorites and one of my favorite episodes ever.
One of the great Q episodes. Data and Q is an awesome combo.
All the Q episodes are so good, love the ending! Can't wait for next week!! YE, my fav!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
One of my absolute favourite episodes of ST 😀
I think it's less that Data likes Q and more that he empathizes with him, because he also had a period of time where he didn't understand how to exist among humans.
18:06 Mark! 19K Views + Mine! 😎🖖 2.6K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! 😊
Notes: Aha! I get it now! I read some of the comments below about you versus Cassie, and now that I've seen your reaction too, my guess is that they saw hers before seeing yours, as has happened with me now. 🤔
I enjoy both of you very much! My only basis for favoritism is that as far as I know, you're single and she's... "Married... With Children"! 😅
Quick memory test for myself, okay! Ahem.

They have recast the role of "Guinan" for the newer series! The character is very long lived and doesn't age as Whoopi has, so it only makes sense. I have only seen "Star Trek: Prodigy" though, of the newers shows. So I don't know why John is still playing his "Q"! 🤷♂️
Corbin Bernson of "L.A. Law" fame is "Q2"! I never met him either.
Bye for now. 😊
That was close. Can't imagine crashing on a planet.
This is one of my favorite episones of TNG.
Always felt they should've titled this episode, "The Naked Q".
