Great job on Angler of the year! Very cool to see an out of stater doing well! Also great job I enjoy how you produce your videos. very watchable! cant wait to see more
Beard Block Thanks man, really appreciate the compliment! These are fun to make and I enjoy improving my production skills. The first videos I posted on my channel are a mess! haha
LMAO at that catfish! CONGRATS on the AOY! To do it on new waters in a new state is an amazing feat in my opinion. Hard to believe someone actually does better!
Congratulations on a great tournament and season. I could watch this video all day, looks like a lot of fun. You need to get your employer to keep you in Texas permanently.
FishingTexan Thank you! Central Texas has been my favorite location so far and not just for the fishing. If I cannot be here permanently, I will revisit as frequently as I am able to!
Great videos and congratulations on your tournament finishes. I'm curious with all of your success how much you would say your fish finder has in it. I see you seem to fish near cover, Lilly pads , moss beds and so on. I fish those same areas only in Iowa not Texas and I'm thinking of purchasing a fish finder/depth finder, but I'm not sure how much it will help. Again great job both on the videos and the tournaments. Your Slayer video was the main reason I bought mine and I love it. Thanks.
Evandh2o Thanks man! I'd say the fish finder plays a part about 60% of the time for me. During the prespawn (and now into the summer), I'll be heavily relying on it to look at contour lines and confirm any below structure with the down scan. Then of course there's the added benefit of knowing water temp and having a GPS on hand in case you get lost (which I have twice this year on some really winding and maze like bodies of water). I'd say that if you're really into fishing and go at least a few times a month, it's a worthwhile investment. Cool deal on the slayer! It's definitely one of the best fishing yaks out there!
Great video and fishing you are talented. How does the measuring work. I generally (when trying to keep legal fish if the warden stops by) measure with a closed mouth to the tip of the tail. It seemed that alot of your fish had open mouths gaining a 1/2 inch or so. Is this normal in the tournament setting or have I been measuring my fish wrong lol. Serious question no disrespect just trying to learn. Great video again!
+Fuzzy Brewster Thanks bud! The measuring/scoring varys depending on the tournament rules but for this particular series mouth may be open. Other series will strictly be mouth closed. There can also be rules such as no hand on the fish in the submitted picture as well as no pinching of the tail. It's definitely important to make sure you are clear with the scoring rules as a quarter inch can add up over 5 fish and be the difference between 3 or 4 places.
Glad to see I am not the only one that has trouble keeping the fish on the board. :) Great video. Greg I have a question. Where do you keep the battery box for your fishfinder. I am now a slayer owner and I was curious.
👀 👀 👀 I may be going here soon. Gotta scope out the lay of the land!
Crazy how much your vids have grown 😂
Congrats on AOY!
Jeff Porter Thank you, Jeff!

You was right at home with the frog!!!!
Aaron White Yessir! Finally got on a good frog bite!
Was you throwing it over submerge grass?
Aaron White Mainly over pads where there was a mixture of pond weed, if it came out to a point that was a bonus. Helped eliminate a lot of water.
Good deal
great season ! I noticed the right hand retrieve reel straight off
