    Her English has really improved, it was already good but these days she speaks very confidently and elegantly.

      It needs to be, as she had to understand Murray's accent. So normal English becomes a breeze after an experience like that.

    I'm not sure why people got mad because she said men's matches are more compelling so they get the night matches. Women's tennis right now is boring. I'm not recording matches or rushing home to watch any matches like before. There are so many empty seats during women's matches at other tournaments. The WTA needs to address this issue.

      I agree. I think back to when Mauresmo was playing and we had Venus, Serena, Henin, Clijsters, Sharapova, Davenport, Mauresmo, Hingis, and countless others who were pretty consistent week in and week out. The women's tour has been inconsistent and disappointing since the early 2010s, and nobody wants to invest in a sport where the Grand Slam champions win one major tournament and then achieve nothing. I'm optimistic when it comes to the younger generation, with Swiatek and Gauff potentially creating a rival that can get people back into the seats, but at the moment nobody is going to want to watch women's tennis when 9 of the 10 top seeds are out of a tournament by round 3.

    The most common tactic in life is know your rivals .we place ourselves in jeopardy not Evaluating the subject .but neither excludes our refining options even though try .soon any trusted endeavors is a lone task forever seems doubtful.but through progressing interest the utmost conditions. are very limited efficacy dating from horrendous betraying efforts . If we don't accumulate a status within formal fundamentals .so convene the best norms and the moderate rest is ensured to plaster with form .

    All very nice but the celebration for Nadal's 14th was really poor, compared to when he won his 13th. All Mauresmo did was giving Rafa a hug. I would not call that a grandiose celebration...14 baby 14!!!!!!

    She showed a lot of disrespect for the game that made her.

    • @deedledave9826
      @deedledave9826 2 роки тому

      I'm not sure what she said was disrespectful. I don't think she was making a general statement that men's tennis is better than women's tennis. I think she was saying that CURRENTLY men's tennis is more compelling and exciting than women's tennis. Women's tennis has been in a state of flux since the early 2010s. Nobody has dominated. Players come and go, winning one grand slam and then vanishing. It's hard to root for a player when they are so inconsistent. Men's tennis has three of the greatest tennis players who ever played the game, with a lot of supporting players who are really emerging as potential threats. I much preferred women's tennis from the late 90s to 2010, but since then I've preferred men's tennis. I think that was what she was trying to articulate. Nobody wants to see a tennis match between Kudermetova and Kasatkina, because they are journeywomen who won't make a mark on the sport. They'd much rather see Nadal and Djokovic battle it out, because history is on the line.

      @@deedledave9826 You got a point l guess but l still watch mostly female tennis. Yeah changing of guards every tournament does not do good to female tennis but who wants to watch a tennis match that lasts 5 hours? Certainly not me.

    • @deedledave9826
      @deedledave9826 2 роки тому

      @@trommelbiel I guess it depends on the match. I'd say there's a lot of men's tennis that is boring to watch, particularly those men who just have big serves and mediocre ground strokes. I'll never understand why people think that Isner-Mahut match is famous considering how uninteresting the play was. I think women's tennis is just in its post-Serena phase, and once players start to make themselves known it will be back in good hands.

    • @trommelbiel

      @@deedledave9826 Maybe because I am a man, I simply enjoy the sexiness in women's tennis. I used to watch Roger but since he stopped playing I never watch men's tennis. Amelie probably enjoys men's tennis more.
      But I understand the fact that sport revolves around individuals.
      For example, basketball used to revolve around Michae Jordan. Boxing used to revolve around Mike Tyson. I used to watch Serena from Germany because I expected her to win all the time. Yes, it doesn't do good for the sport if there is a different winner all the time.
      For example, Emma won the US Open last year but she has been struggling to go past the second round of every tournament she has entered since then. She clearly won't be competitive this year which is probably what Amelie was referring to.
