I lived in Augusta when I was in high school. James Brown made sure every Christmas that his residence and property were beautifully decorated, and it was absolutely spectacular! When he died I was grateful for the joy he sent out to the community every year. The trees have really grown since then!

I grew up in Augusta, GA. Well, on and off, my entire life. I know it very well and Harlem as well.
In fact, James Brown came into the Convenience store I worked at on Washington Rd once.
He was a very nice man. Very friendly.
I used to live on Wrightsboro Rd in Augusta seven years ago. I left in 2014. The year after my father passed away.
I hope you enjoyed what I will always consider my home town. Well, that and Harlem, which is the home of Laurel and Hardy.
That tour guide is a sweetheart and a fountain of JB trivia! I hope they get a big bump up in business! Love this video!

WOW!! A most excellent tour of James Brown's home town. So much history there!! What amazed me is how they moved that whole church from one side of the road to the other. The mural was beautifully done. Everything and the tour guide was awesome!!

I met James Brown when I was 12 years old. He came to my great grandmas funeral. He was super nice and larger than life. One thing I can say about Georgia from Macon to August everybody knew everybody and they took care of each other. Thanks for these last two vidoes Jordan. I definitely need plan a trip to Augusta.

We have always loved James Brown’s music and entertainment style, this was extra special being able to hear some of the human side stories about him and his life! When we visit family in Georgia Augusta is always a stop on our way so next time we will take the tour for sure, hope we get the same guide she was fantastic. Thank You Jordan! Absolutely great!! I am from Boston and my kids wanted to take a duck 🦆 tour and then I also had family visiting from the U. K. (Ireland) and SADLY I knew MORE FACTUAL INFO ABOUT BOSTON THAN THE TOUR GUIDE DID.... and it was just sooo sooo sooo sooo disheartening to see that. I am from Somerville MA (which touches Boston but, it’s a suburb to the North of Boston.... and when we were near Boston Common the guide said that, that was the FIRST place that the American 🇺🇸 Flag was EVER raised in America. And in FACT the FIRST American 🇺🇸 Flag was raised in Prospect Hill in Somerville MA. (My hometown) I was just completely completely shocked and disappointed to KNOW how much actual TRUE HISTORICAL stuff that really happened in Boston for him to be making up stuff as he went along!!

Having the whole tour to yourself. How cool is that 😎 It was so great seeing where he grew up and al the many things that he did for his hometown. Awesome! On a side note- I was watching TCM when they showed the star of the month. Guess who- Elvis Presley - TCM Star of the Month. Happy Birthday to all of us who have birthdays this month. Happy to know that James Brown was loyal to his hometown and helped out the town. Those murals are so beautiful and one of the great tributes to him. That was an awesome tour. Seeing the old haunts and place of the self-proclaimed "Hardest working man in show business", really was phenomenal. James Brown was an amazing performer and I love listening to his music from time to time. ✌🙏🏼

I love how our old school entertainers gave back to their communities, what they and our other black families ,children couldn't have,they wanted to make sure the children coming up did. Bless them all😍❤❤. I was born in 74 so I still have an old soul lol, and some ( not all) of these so called entertainers now don't even think like that.

I was a tour guide here in Pennsylvania at 2 places: The Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie, PA, and the Keith House aka Elizabeth Graeme's House which is the only existing residence of a colonial Pennsylvania Governor still in existence built in the 1600s (and is still haunted by the spirit of Elizabeth Graeme!) in Horsham, Pennsylvania. So I know what it's like to be a tour guide. Your tour guide was EXCELLENT!! Thank you again, Jordan, on such a great vlog on one of my favorite performers! 😊❤✌
