Let's talk about Burger King
There is no way to ban/outlaw a name in the USA. And certainly, there is no way to enforce such a ban if you could get past the courts.

2:19 Tom is a pretty normal name. Is it banned because it also means a male cat in English (why did this came to be though?), or does it mean something else in Portugese?
In Portugal, foreign names are usually forbidden. This video displays Tom as an example but you'll be also banned if you try to give your kid a name like Kyle, John, Justin, etc. What has probably happened is that someone has tried to name their kid Tom once and that was declined. But there's nothing wrong about Tom or any of the names I said, they're just foreign for us and you're only allowed to give your kid a foreign name under certain circumstances. For instance, if you're having your kid in Portugal but have another nationality. Some Italian/Spanish/English names like Luca, Enzo, Diego, Micah or Noah are starting to be allowed because many Portuguese people like them, but those are exceptions.
In Portugal diminutives are not allowed as names.
Is not a peoblem if you use Tom as a nikname but you had to fill the birth certificate with the complete name.

Most of these I can believe (since they sound like either people trying to give their children names that are either ridiculous or controversial as some sort of statement. But don't a LOT of people in Germany have Stein (stone) as part of their last name? More importantly, a lot of JEWISH people (Goldstein, Silverstein, Einstein, etc.)?
