I think the reason this looks better than the actual games is because the textures and lighting are very high quality compared to the roblox looking final release
Random fact: Alpha 1 promotional material was used as screenshots for the full game's pre-order on the xbox store,which might explain the glitches as it could've been unfinished. either way i wish they kept this style instead of the cartoony version they went with (at least it sorta went back to this style in HN2)
Cool mod! I think if TinyBuild really kept the old art style then they would have followed up with the wackiness of the old concept art. The game also would have maybe been made a bit darker and maybe a bit more horror like. Maybe it would have also been more polished.
honestly i feel like Neighbor became much smarter, when i played HN back in 2018, i remeber that Neighbor couldn't even walk on the rails at all. He also constantly started using alternative ways to get to you if the room is closed, etc. He scared me like that a couple of times, because I was used to the fact that he couldn’t get me at all.

Main reason for hello neighbor becoming worse was the graphic. The old graphics were much more realistics so it made the game scarier, the new graphics made the game look childish.
Missing Entity also wanted to change the neighbor's catch animation from pre-alpha/alpha 1, but he thought it looked terrible. However, that still doesn't stop us from adding that animation to the files, right?
we can say that the person who made the mod I think the missing entity right? He made an amazing job creating it and it looks so nice how he replaced all the furniture textures and other objects, imagine if the full game was like this
For what HN1 went for in the full release, the newer art style is better, its more stylized and i see it as one of the best parts of the game, thats not me saying i dont like the older artsytle, i still heavily prefer it.

this mod was a nice way of changing the game from new art to old art but the only thing that keeps me from fully considering this mod as perfect is that lots of the oldartized newart assets lack original designs as lots of them are just "the same thing as the new art thing but less wonky and with old art textures" which honestly in my way of thinking just comes off as lazy, and also lacks variation as most different types of doors or couchs etc have been replaced by the same model, and the fact that most of the assets still use multimats or seperated materials, is lame alongside that the houses still have the new art proportions and arent properly styled to be in old art, and even if this last thing sounds more like my own rambling, it wouldve been cool if child nicky had fully detailed textures as his adult version

The foliage makes it feel far scarier for some reason, it kind of gives me monster house vibes in a sense.

Most of the assets are old styled but for me somehow it doesn't feel the same as old styled versions of the game.
The animations, the complicated puzzles, the human’s sounds, the house layout of ACT 2 and ACT 3. That’s what makes it still feel like this.
