    found a 70 F250 crewcab special down in pitssburg Texas years ago and sent a buddy with my truck and trailer to pick it up. 390 4spd manual with factory buckets. rarest truck i have ever owned. I lost all my trucks in a big barn fire back in 2013. had a lot of fun dragging them all back from the south .

    I bought a new 1972 at the end of the model year for $4200. It was a Sport Custom, 2 dr, reg bed, 360cu in, c-6 auto, 20 gal seat tank + two 18 gal saddle tanks. Two - 60 A/C ( two windows down, 60 mph). Tires were 750 x 16's split rims. P/S, P/B. Still have the original heavy duty tire chainsI can't remember seeing any crew cabs other than Government / Forrest Service ones though. I guess I should have kept it !

    I loved watching you build your high boy using a newer model frame. I have a four-door truck like what you just bought but it is a 4x4. I also have one at my house I am fixing to stretch and build put on a 2004 frame from a F-350 4x4. so there's a couple of them done on the internet one of the guys's in Canada .the one of the other guys doesn't elaborate on anything. it's a lot better fit newer drive train better suspension more available parts. hope to watch good build on this one that you do like your single cab highboy build

    Well, do you want to use it? And what for? Big long trucks don’t make for good 4 wheeling. If you just want it so you can put it in your collection, then I would restomod 2wd. Clean up the rust, paint it, a/c, ps etc. but only you know what floats your boat here. 4x4 has a lot of wow factor and as long as you need to replace the bed, go long bed if you find a good long one before a short one. Lots to think about. Good find!

    Resto restore. I have 72 250 restored. I love it. Know you have 2 bumps. Those 390 are good engines.. I'd freshn it up and try to find a fe Four venturie intake and run it. No point in letting it go to waste if it runs.

    Do a “derelict” build like Jonathan ward does. Keep the rustic outside but redo the interior with posh, fine leather, fancy carpet and modern technological gimmickry to make it super comfy and fresh. That spacious, airy feeling inside that cab should make for quite a feeling inside!

  • @projectbluelightphiladelph4378

    After watching your vodeo on this truck - what i would do with it is restore it keep it orginal with some change get a 460 motor from a old lincon town car with some headers and daul exhaust as for a new paint job the body red with a white roof a nice set of chrome rims would be nice may be pick the truck up a little bit redo the seats black with the inside door panels red with a black dash pad

    Hey Matt! What makes this particular crew cab short box So Rare? I have a 1969 that has been with me 48 years needs kits of body love, just rust in all the typical areas doors close perfectly! And there is not one dent in any part of the truck just the rust issues bed cross piece behind cab is perfect and so are the rear corner posts, also came from Canada, does have front discs power steering A/C body line is perfect, and as stated rust in mist if the areas. Also automatic 390 with badges on front fenders. Am getting ready to do full driver restoration here in next few weeks gonna start. Wish I knew how to become you tube channel, also have a nice survivors F250 Sport Custom Camper Special also 390 long box all the stick goodies,discs Air power steering almost perfect body, great paint and Love it as My Daily Driver. And a 1967 f100 shortie 390 no power brakes no discs no chrome, paint grade needs minor Love am seeking donor parts and plan to replace my items with donor parts as opposed to new except where necessary! I do have the capability to do all the welding and body work as I have been doing cars for over 50 years. Not wanting show truck but enjoy my trucks turning heads! If you are going to not use some if the parts on this crew Bump please advise. And PS Canada trucks were all built individually fyi. Mine came from factory with full frame fish plate as the frame was cut for it's application and Ford didn't just plate the cut area! Strange. Enjoy watching you and your trucks you seem to Love them as I do! Over the years I have had many,especially in the 60s and Seventies as my fleet if company trucks. Long story there! Someday may share. Thanks for your input. Btw keep it two wheel drive, and use it as a driver, they are pretty Nice!

    Hey Matt! I have an original short box Crew Cab also! 1969 F250 390 Disc brakes, auto, Power steering, have owned it since 1973 also has the riveted extra frame from the Factory Chassis is excellent and the truck has never had a dent, doors and door pins are like new and close incredible! Sadly it has turned into a rust bucket. However I am Determined that I want to make it whole Again! You mentioned it's very rare..... what helped you to .are the decision on this? I am Very Curious.I parked it 10 years ago and was driving it daily while everyone I knew told ne to Junk it! I Couldnt!!!! Am now at a place in life to rebuild her. Need your input on parts hunting bed us gone wheel tubs back and front of box are salvable as with the rear quarters and twilight supports does have the dual tanks and a complete truck! Perhaps you can help me to find some parts I have done lots of rust buckets years ago for others and can source lots of replacement floors can. Mounts etc. And consider it worth the rebuild. Dro e this truck daily and it has been Ciast to Coast on its own wheels and had it before I met my wife it then became our go away truck and my two grown daughters grew up in it! A shirt time back I asked you how to identify my ford and found that it was made in Canada Thanks to your help! Lol mine has original Grill and front bumper both pretty excellent! Bed or cab Never had a dent nor the doors! Just rotten! If you can contact me sometime in your busy schedule, please send maybe a number and I can send you pics and share info referencing yours! Thank You Again! Nice truck make it a 2 wheel driver they are great

    Why is it called a bump? I know an old gentleman that has one sitting in his driveway in great shape. Was thinking of see if he'd sell it. I like these old ford's just don't know a lot about them.

    • @MattKubik1791
      @MattKubik1791  2 роки тому +1

      The raised “bump” feature extending the length of the truck is why they got that name. The later 73-79 trucks have a concave feature in the same location and those are nicknamed dent sides
