This is a subject that interests me a lot, as the housing crisis is also affecting my country, Canada. From this video, I don't get how they solved the crisis, only what they are planning for the next years.

The current crisis is not solved. The dam in the Zuiderzee is ancient history. It has no relation to the current housing crisis

But how are they solving the housing crisis

It’s in the earlier commentary although summarised. In actual fact they are building 900,000 homes by 2030 that’s about 100,000 homes a year. So cost will start coming down next year

Sorry but this video doesn't make any sense: The current dutch housing crisis was actually caused by people like Mark Rutte, not solved! His Desinvestment of (social) housing during the financial crisis lead to a total collapse of the construction industry until 2015. Meanwhile he actively ignored multiple EU environmental regulations for years, leading to a forced ban on new housingvaround 2017. He actively supported foreign speculators for around the world to buy public social housing at bottom prices at the end of the crisis, further spiked the speculation on the tight housing left, also helped by reducing transfer taxes.
This 'genius' Mark Rutte should have been punished for his crimes, but since he was reelected multiple times I suppose the Dutch deserve the mess they're in now.
Rutte is now off to lead Nato, so even bigger charletans can take over.
Thank you for the history lesson on the Flevopolder expansions from way back. Those were better days for the Netherlands

By building more houses and raising taxes for those buying for investments?

Sorry bro but your video is not relevant to 2024. As of writing the govt is struggling to find a suitable solution to the new housing crisis of this century.

Their solution has been implemented earlier. By building another 900,000 homes by 2030, 100,000 homes a year. Although that number will fall short. Not extraordinary but what’s different is that they are catering to homeowners for residence and discouraging investments by raising taxes for buying houses for investment. tapering the rise in housing cost. Any plans will take time to implement. 2024 will be too soon to see the impact but save up this year to buy next year. When the cost will start to come down.
