you are my teacher in 2020. the best music teacher!
She is teaching at a higher level than the children are at. She needs to meet them where they are. This would be great for 2nd or 3rd graders.
This was great, I've been looking for "piano notes for beginners read music" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Foonlant Dumbstruck Formula - (just google it ) ? It is an awesome exclusive product for discovering how to teach your child to read music notes without the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my colleague got great success with it.
Babies learn a lot faster than you think! If you teach them complex patterns at a young age, they'll be much more likely to develop perfect pitch, which can excel cognitive development.
Learning is a reach. It is always a great idea to expose children to new ideas and concepts. Can you teach Cal IV to a 3 year old? I would argue no. Can you expose them to it? Yes. But exposure and teaching are not equivalent.
@@fluteplayervictoria4100 Yeah, that's a good point
Keep it up - we love all the important developmental info you share!

I never though Old MacDonald could be sung so pretty, lol. Thanks for posting this video. I enjoy learning new activities to do with my son; especially ones that help him to learn.
I am student teaching at an elementary school right now and I'm definitely going to use some of this with my students!

With an open mind (don't let any religion be the barrier) read story of Abhimany being taught a particular skill when he was in his mother's womb.
Absolutely right life starts in the womb we can talk to them during this period as well
Indian Music is rich in its basic elements. It was a part and parcel of daily chores in every house hold. But over the past few decades (with urbanization) now there is a dire need to inculcate the age old methods that develop the latent musical skills in children. And that is exactly what I have seen in your video - realization of Rhythm in kids, when their mom's participate.
for higher level ..and you could have use smaller rhythm sticks suitable for their hands...
She is great! I love this!
Hello Sarah, very interesting teaching! May I know if you have a website that shares more information?
That has to be the best job in the world!
খুব সুন্দর👍👌💐💐
wow I think I'm in love, and I'm a professional musician, and I teach kids. She's so great with the kids!
Hello Sarah, my name is keith, i am starting a music school and will create a program for small children... hope i can collaborate and partner with you.
May can I / may I upload this video on my UA-cam channel to popularize it????
I wouldn't suggest hand over hand instruction. Have the grownups model, and let the little ones experiment. They'll get it themselves when they're ready. Why deprive them of that "aha moment"?
This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "music theory piano for kids" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Foonlant Dumbstruck Formula - (search on google ) ? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to teach your child to read music notes without the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my colleague got cool results with it.
Pretty singing voice, but why the vocal fry in the speaking voice? So annoying from all you young women! And for the critics on the teaching method - obviously, when making a video, for the sake of time, she is moving through the songs and exercises. Also, I work with young children and families, and it's frequent repetition that works. Keep coming and it all sinks in. Young children often do not participate on site, but during the week, when at home, they can be heard and seen singing and mimicking what they heard and saw.
Except I would video my actual production in a class rather than a quickened fake class for a video.
The theory behind is good but how she teaches doesn't respect how children learn music. She asks them to do things they can't do, and you can see it clearly in the video. The teacher should unsderstand his/her students and not the students understand their theacher. Music Education is a serious thing!
Can you do everything first time round or do you have to watch, listen and practise?
Music is a mental thing. First work on audiation and then use objects and instruments. An instrument is actually an instrument. A piano or a pair of sticks don't contain music. I am a musician and music educator and believe me music education today is completely insane. Children, adults, everyone are able to play what they are able to hear.
Carlo Alberto Canevali Yes but the children are listening. But they are also practising motor skills. Their brains are doing both. That must be better than merely passive listening. Children learn best when they are doing. They will learn to embody the sounds by feeling as well as hearing. They will also feel the vibrations of the teacher's sounds. Additionally they will see the teacher moving to the music sounds. Auditory, visual and kinaesthetic learning.
Dear Maria, yes children are listening and as music educators we should enhance their active listening. Listening seems to be an easy thing but it's not. Children needs to develop a listening vocabulary first and then a speaking vocabulary and then improvisation. Listening is action if you are really listening.
Yes, children learn by doing, but not doing what an adult can do. They are not little adults, they are kids. The learn by playing, by moving. Movement, breathing, voice and breath coordination are extremely important in early age education.
We have to embody music not sounds. Sounds are not music by themselves. Music is what we perceive as music, sounds organised with a proper syntax related to our culture.
Yes, they feel the vibrations of the teacher's sounds and they learn from this relationship, from a musical dialogue with the teacher, not from an instrument.
Yes, adults are models for the kids.
I am studying deeply this topic because I love music and art and I love to help people to understand and appreciate music. A good teacher should know how we learn music when we learn music. I suggest you to read E. Gordon Music Learning Theory books. This is a deep research in music education. As a musician I have understood the origin of my limits when I discovered the concept of audiation, thanks to Gordon.
I love your passion.
its a first hand experience.. pulse must be experienced and the assistance of the parents and the steady pulse provided by the teacher is very helpful.

Have you ever come across - Foonlant Dumbstruck Formula - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to teach your child to read music notes without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my colleague got amazing results with it.
Oh, I don't like it at all. The teacher is much too fast and children are actually not taking part in this activity, at all. Good idea but not a good realisation.

Just because they aren't copying perfectly what the teacher is doing doesn't mean they aren't processing what is going on. They are watching and listening. Yes, they are too young to play along perfectly - that is not the object of the exercise. If they do this when they are so young and just enjoy even holding the sticks and watching think how much better they will be able to do it when they are mature enough to do so. They will be streets ahead of a child who has not experienced that. Children of musical parents aren't born playing instruments but being surrounded by them and the sounds they make, makes it more likely that they will be able to play as they grow older.
