Any plans to do a 3.0 dummy video yet. Just bought one. But thinking about putting a couple more noodles in his chest to make it feel wider when it's in my closed guard? Or do you think it would make the spine not flexible enough?
Version 3.0 was in the video "Fixing A Broken Supercharged Grappling Dummy". I think more noodles in his chest could work, but I think it would make it feel weird. If you try it, let me know if it works!
Hi, thanks for sharing those great ideas. I was wondering if you think it would be a good idea to articulate the spine at the hip section by using the same process as the knees, using the hose.
I was wondering what sizes of rash guard & gi fits these? I was also wondering where to source stuffing (shredded clothes/rags, clothes to shred, others, etc.) on-the-cheap, but scrolling through the comments I saw a similar question. Guess I'll be thrift store bound & working my grip strength with scissors (?)! Thanks much!
Haha! That's awesome. I have a great career already, and I would just like if my ideas were used to help others improve their Jiu Jitsu game. The design is still changing. Amazing work! This is the cleanest design I've seen so far. Im currently acquiring parts to build this. One question: since they cant be extended flat, how do the rigid arms behave for arm bars and/or transitions in top control where you want to flatten/straighten out the arms (eg transition to north-south)? Im wondering whether to leave them "boneless" to be able do these kinds of drills. Looks great for kesa gatame though!
Thanks for the question. The arms can be extended flat, you just have to be intentional with your movement to flatten them. The arm pins and transitions are a bit more realistic, because the arms are always trying to block your movement, and you must intentionally pin or bypass them to move from side to side. A traditional fill will also be effective for you though, so it will all work well, as long as you are using the dummy regularly.
Excuse me sir, im in the process of making mine I got all the pex the elbows and rings and I made the skeleton already and im about to purchase the dummy the outer shell I guess you could say. There's two different 70" dummies the one that goes up to 60 pounds or the one that goes up to 125 pounds which one is better and which do you recommend to buy
We use the dummies that go up to 60 lbs. I have not seen the dummies that claim they go up to 125 lbs, but I think that's probably either a typographical error, or wishful thinking. When you look at the size of a 125 lb Muay Thai bag, there is no way to get that much stuffing into a grappling dummy. This dummy is stuffed pretty well, and it weighs around 35-40 lbs.
