    Nice video and wide explanation. But i disagree on the 21mm carb and c16 on the last MHR kit. Thats still a big bottleneck. I would go for at least a c20 even c21 and a 24 pwk or even a 28 pwk carb. That cilinder have the most power at high 13k lower 14k rpm. 13750-14250.

    A malossi testa rossa 94cc kit on my zip is the dream… but I don’t have enough experience to install and tune it correctly and no way I can afford to the parts I need for the build😅 It must be so much fun driving with a fully build hyper racing setup like the 94cc kit. Literally impossible to drive it without lifting the front wheel and almost impossible to controlling it.
    I hope my dream can come true one day. If I only get the chance to test a bike like that I would be super happy

    It's hard for me to express just how good your videos are for people in the process of learning. This is basically like scooter university - the wealth of information and quality of communication is just unreal. Thank you for all the work in making these!
    A question: What do you guys think of the Polini Corsa vs the Malossi MHR Replica? There are a lot of statements online that say that these are two very similar kits in terms of performance. What would the difference be between them for a liquid-cooled Piaggio Hi-PER 2 engine (Euro 2 Aprilia SR 50 R)? Theoretically? Practically?

      Thank you so much for your recognition, this is exactly what we are trying to do. We are trying to take our workshop to your viewing room. Brad's delivery of the videos has gone to a new level. Good video but the reason for a thinner ring is to prevent ring flutter at high rpm.

    I found the mhr replica cylinder worked badly with pipes with any decent top end, over exhausted exactly like you said, obviously I know about transmission tuning, had multivar and torque driver.

    I have a liquid cooled Piaggio engine in my GP1 and I'm looking for the best 70cc kit for max torque down low with a Yasuni R and modified factory airbox. I'm running a Corsa/C16 /pod filter and it is just too loud. Would the MHR Replica be a better choice than the Corsa? Can it run on 19-21mm carb with an airbox? I want to be at about 10 - 10.5K max revs. Thanks for your video!

    • @scooterstreetau

      It is most likely the Pod filter drawing the engine sound. The MHR Rep is similar power to the Corsa. Look for a higher class cylinder as these GP1 can handle the HP. Down the air intake with the airbox and don't over tune as you will loose your down low.

    Hello how do u recommend i run in the cast iron kit? Thanks

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  2 роки тому

      If your talking a 50cc kit: From cold start gently accelerate for the first couple of minutes until the engine temp has increased. This gives the oil and fuel systems time to circulate and the expansion has taken place within the metal parts. Once warm, we run at the speed the traffic requires, if there is no traffic WOT all the way.
      If asking for a 70cc kit as in the video: The first week the scooter should be ridden as a test ride because there may still be changes to the tuning of air/fuel mix and some small adjustments to other parts of the scooter (transmission). Once you are satisfied with the tune and power than approach as the above (50cc), warm the engine and then get into it.
      Over the years we have tested both, thrashing new builds and also extended periods of warming up the engine and we have not noticed any notable differences within the wear over long periods. It must be mentioned that we do check our oil and spark plugs very regularly and never mix oil and never mix fuels.

      For now we have found the best option is to fit the Digitronic from Malossi to derestrict the system, replace the carby and then any cylinder that you choose.
      If the ECU is out of the budget, disengage the system and go for the Headless Malossi cylinder and run with the factory head that fits the Temp sensor. Always change the jet and the exhaust, transmission tuning will give more benefit toward a greater performance.
