I case all my pencils. My preference is a single loop, multi zip, with a faux leather cover. Fabric is ok in a pinch but it's much harder to clean. I have one that is a canvas like material and I hate it, it picks up every stray cat hair or piece of lint in the house. I go for the ones with wrist straps if possible because you can link up to three zippers together with it and open or close in one motion. For larger cases I buy keychain holders for the same function, usually found near the keys or purses. Have a couple that are furry pom pom's, a couple that are macrame, basically anything that is easy to hold onto and not too large. Back in the day I had my prismas in real leather cases with suede interiors (they weren't even that expensive) but I think those have gone the way of the dinosaur, along with the lovely wooden drawer pencil boxes with the velvet linings. I use a little paper tags for identification, most cases have a metal loop but if they don't you can hook it on a zipper. I found them at my local office store. That way I can see at a glance what is in the case when they are in their shelf.
I remember those lovely leather cases with suede interiors.. I had one too! It was in the days that "good" pencils were a decent expense and you only had one set so kept them nice. Then came the era of the cheap Chinese pencils and... the matching cheap pencil cases! 🥰
howdy, cool video great intro for new colourists to see how they actually work or dont work. i know some like the single slot style or those that can be sorted with tri tones. . i have all my Derwents in the first style 72 case, and have done a bit of crafting by covering them with different patterns of fake fur material. i dont like those wrap style. and have mostly btskey 300 case for my black widows and shuttle arts and other budget sets. Thanks again and keep on slurping.
I truly appreciate this. Im a lixed media artist. (Watercolor acryla gouache flashe paint and colored pencil mostly) Idk what i need. I have "one of those amazon ones" and love it, but it's full, and i just ordered 9 new pencils. Now the amazon one i got is surprisingly hardy. Its got 70+ pencils and pens and pencils, sharpener, brushes etc in it. I also like how compact it is. I keed something slightly bigger but not so big that it feels cumbersome. Oh, and although i do love to rifle, it does take time i could be soending making art.
I love that theres a case for every preference, and i own all of them. 😅 i absolutely hate the last pencil case you showed. I have one I purchased by accident, i use it for my cretacolor megas, at least until i find a better option. Thanks so much for making this video.
Individual slots all the way for me. I prefer the 3/4 zip type as I colour on my sofa (not literally lol) and don't have much room around me to spread out. I bought a 300 slot case for my Polychromas and Albrecht Durer, not a chance am I fighting to fit 3 pencils into one slot so the case got relegated to holding my Brutfuner squares and random sets of 12/24 pencils. One thing that really bugs me though is directional prints on the cases as I consider the ruler, rubber, and sharpener slots as my spares slots so therefore it's the back of the case. Love your vids 💜
Good idea for the big case as a repository for smaller sets. I consider the ruler area the back too, so the greys are always relegated to that page 😆 Thanks for lovely comment 🥰
I prefer the one you like that opens out flat but hard to find, I also like the 72 rolls got few of these and the Oxford one hate the others liking my kitchen holders for my pencils if not taking them any where. 🙂
Lily this is very informative video and thankyou for doing this it must have taken a lot of time to put this together so a very big thankyou I didn’t know there was a pencil case for pens which is interesting thankyou again big hugs to Robbie
I know that this question is off subject and I am so sorry for that. However I am wondering are you going to do any of midnight madness on videos? My copy arrives today and I am dying to see you do a color along in that book.
I like the individual slots best.

@kathyhackney7950 I love my pencils in order, I'm not a rifle-er lol! Hope you find what you need 🥰
Ooo Hackney... are you in Hackney?

Yeah me too (re: the last case!). I wish I had sent it back 😆
I didn't realize the difference between colored pencil cases and gel pen cases that was good information.. :)
Thanks! 🥰
Same!

The not literally part made me lol
Thanks! I have been looking for a case for my zig clean color brush pens so now I know what to look for.
Yeah, it was a happy accident that I got a pen case one time! (After I realised why pencils kept falling out! 😄

I found those ones that fold out flat hard to find and then randomly found a new link to one when I was looking for the links for this video. 🥰
@@ArtJourneyUK Found same one but had to buy with pencils 😁
@@crossstitchbutton I did that too one time 😆
Here's the one I found recently amzn.to/3XCLdxH
Wish you could get them for 100 pencils too!
@@ArtJourneyUK is it easy to order as it is from U S Or is there added costs?

Thanks - awesome and helpful video, well done! Just subscribed!
Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤
Soft cases freak me out. I am worried the pencil will break because it’s not protected
Yes, I'm the same! Especially with the pencil rolls! 🥰
I am a single slot multi zipper girl every time hehe
Hehe I like the single slot, wide open 🤣
