Squeeze The Elbows for Improved Ball Striking

- Topping and thinning the ball can cause extreme frustration for regular golfers. The inability to manage the RADIUS of the swing is one of the most common faults displayed by amateur golfers, especially in higher handicap players.
Conversely, the BEST players manage their swing radius far more effectively, and in doing so, are able to demonstrate more consistent ball striking and greater power in their shots.
Radius management is really just elbow and arm management. Keeping the elbows close together throughout the swing will help you improve your radius control and your ball striking quality and consistency instantly! Using an object between your arms when you practice can help you to really FEEL the correct tension in your arms and help you master this movement more quickly.

Phenomenal video i tried it and wow unbelievable ball Striker i have become!!!!!!!!
He's back! Welcome back rob!
Very helpful video. Uneasy but effective. Thanks
I'm glad to see you back, Rob. This has helped my ball striking emincely and I practice it every day.
Welcome back! I have missed your videos. You are one of my favourites. Thanks, Chris
This video was such a good reminder for me. I was struggling with inconsistent contact chipping around the green (fat and thin). Watched this and re-focused on squeezing my elbows - it has helped tremendously! Last two rounds I had no "duffs" around the green. Sometimes a simple reminder is a really good thing. Thanks Rob!
I got the ball/lanyard thingy which ingrains the close elbows. I bought it for $8.99 from Amazon. It helped me get crispy contact
Good to see you back Rob…
I have been following your stack and tilt but for me the most important is keeping my elbows in. An enormous benefit for my ball striking
What an excellent video Rob - this really explains a great deal and identifies a major cause of poor ball contact - thank you
Little things that make a total difference in ball striking. Thanks Rob! Another great video.
Another great lesson!
Great to have you back, Rob!
Welcome back Rob! Always great instruction!
Great video. Glad to see you are back at it. You hit exactly on what I am trying to eliminate. Thanks.
Top notch instruction. as usual. Thank you, Rob!
glad to see you back. i hope you had a nice vacation. My buddies and i always look forward to your continued amazing lessons. thank you as always
Legend! Thanks so much Rob 👍
Super lesson, thanks!
World class instruction! Thanks Rob!!
Sounds good, looks good, and makes sense. Will be working on implementation of this key on elbow distance.
This is brilliant, as always. You’re one of the best instructors on UA-cam.
Swing hard stop fast !! is one of your best for this along with training aids
Hi Rob- A much needed reminder and image lost as I've aged. Watson ball a good idea.-Be good-Russ
This is excellent.
Hi Rob, nice to see you back! Even though you've had no major comments regarding my pivot during the lessons, there is probably room for improvement as I struggle to squeeze the ball at the top of my backswing. A great drill for me.
Where can the gray soft ball be purchased?
Excellent video Rob well done 👏🏽 Hey Rob, I have a question can you do a video on Golf Machine Pressure point number 4 ?
I have actually been doing this drill a lot recently. It has really helped my ball striking. Some of the smash factor numbers I am getting with mid/long irons are crazy. I am fortunate enough to have a GC Quad to measure this data. I did notice you mentioned "loose" wrists? While doing the arms together (with a ball) drill, I have also been consciously working on keeping my right wrist back through and beyond impact (so my wrists are not loose). Isn't the wrist remaining back a major key to good ball striking?
thanks God bless!
Hi Rob I love your content and it is improving my game.
However I struggle to understand the concept that at impact ( for a draw) the club face is slightly open to the target line and at the same time slightly closed to the swing path. I can't visualise it. Do you have a video on this or a diagram of what it looks like. I hope you can assist me with this.
Hi Rob, my elbow joints are such that at address my forearms are only an inch or so apart. When I use the Watson ball it forces my arms apart, I'm not sure which position I should adopt. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Great to see you back BTW!
Where can I purchase the gray ball? Appreciate the videos!!!!!!!!
When I try the one piece takeaway someone always says I’m coming inside. But I don’t think I am
Just talking about you the other day at Alto. Wondered what happened to you.
Hovland has a bent left arm!
Exactly right, when im hitting good shots, my elbows are close together. When they're not...chicken wings and topped shots!!!!
….maybe someone could invent a ball with a Velcro wrap that physically holds the arms together so you couldn’t drop the ball…I’d buy it for $49.99
Squeezing anything in golf is not a great idea. Just my opinion. Does not make me correct.
@@golftecasia clever...lol....not flying around but not squeezing either. It's a personal thing.
@@golftecasia no doubt. Got to keep the triangle together but I see alot of players told to squeeze the elbows get really locked up. As nicklaus said....motion over mechanics. So a happy medium is probably best. Anyway....enjoy the masters.. still my favorite sporting event of the year.
Thanks rob , great info again , can’t thank you enough 🏌🏿
