Pl5s are your longer ranged missiles that avoid flares pretty good (and turn quite nicely, basically better aim9Gs) and pl7s are your close range, high turning, but less flare resistant missiles. Hope this helped
Back in the days before the "BR decompression" J7D was at 11.0 going up against F14s and F16s almost every game, while A5C was at 10.0 with 2 magic 1s that are OP for that tier. These days A5C is 10.7 with the same loadout, all the higher tier jets got moved up in BR, and J7D is still 11.0 making it a lot better of a grinding plane lol

They're basically long range stealth missiles. PL-7's are Magic 1's, which have ridiculous maneuverability at close range, (especially after the buffs it got alongside the Magic 2's) but don't have great range at all. Magic 1's tend to fall off extremely hard anywhere past 3 km, while the PL-5B's are able to hit 5 easily, and without any missile marker for the majority of its flight. It really is one of those "pick your poison" situations, one is a master of CQC, one is a master of sniping.
i hope you make a video on the JH7a in the china TT. its extremely underrated. the only thing i wish it had was some sort of irccm missiles like the pl9 or pl5eII and HMD as it fighters 13.0 on the daily which isnt really fun. at leasy the countermeasures fire individually when you single select them which is nice

I really regret that i bought this plane. Shitty radar without IFF, worst RWR. Bleeds a lot of Energy . Then fall out the sky if you try too turn on low speed . If it wasn't that much in 50 % sale. The A 5 is still a better plane. Prefer SIM. Don't play RB
