I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in mathematics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. And we're just being taught mathematics like robots, like we're suppose to understand it ourselves and I really feel that these fundamental issues are the reason for the apprehension that people have towards mathematics. Though I feel proud to inform you that a new department of Vedic math has recently been opened in BHU but what we really need, as you said, is the inculcation of this Vedic math with mainstream mathematics. And Indians, who are still ignorant, to know its origins. Great job Rajiv sir!!
@Arun Ravi Vedic maths is collection of various techniques or sutras that were used by ancient Indian astrologers and mathematicians to perform very intricate and complex mathematical problems very simply and quickly. It's true that the names you have mentioned give the earliest written evidence of higher mathematical knowledge of Indians but the question we must ask ourselves is- were they the real creators of those techniques or did they just converted their learnings into written texts? That is because earlier in the Vedic period, knowledge was transferred orally from Guru to Shishya.

I have not ; except that they sent aryabhatta to space. we need to get this to school children. make them feel like bhaarath people are winners. The dasha-dhika darshanam/perspective reveals the universal geometric/mathematical structure, which is the geometry of Bhagavan's virata-purusa-svarupa. The Mridanga drum represents his heart beat. Zero means the norm. If you and I have to climb a mountain, an I start at zero feet above see level, and you start at 1000 feet below (-1000 feet) see level, I have a greater advantage. My zero point is greater than your -1000 ft point.

The talk was great and Rajiv asked the key question on Philosophy of Maths. One action was discussed - start with kids as that is where the fundamentals are set. Secondly, can we get our Indian academia to put weight true intellectual weight behind it, without being constrained by the leftist view that this is some how Hindu religion rather a Hindu mathematical system worth championing?
Fantastic 👌👌👌
Zero means the norm. If you and I have to climb a mountain, an I start at zero feet above see level, and you start at 1000 feet below (-1000 feet) see level, I have a greater advantage.
My zero point is greater than your -1000 ft point.
Brahmagupta would say, "I we are to find treasure at the bottom of the ocean and I start at 1000 feet (-1000 feet) below sea level and you start at zero feet below sea level, I have a greater advantage. Your zero point is less than my -1000 ft point." Symmetry is the missing link to integer arithmetic.
@@JonathanJCrabtreePodometicMath isnt that exactly what western math also says, if you start at 0 and i start at -1000, im closer to -7000 where the treasure lies. Dunno how ot makes indian math better.
@@JonathanJCrabtreePodometicMath nothing is wrong in western maths... Today these idiots will keep on degrading towards ancient maths and world will move ahead...
mind boggling
