I have a 2020 Corolla, and I bought a 2012 Nissan Juke with a low-mileage, turbo engine. After driving the Juke, I parked the Corolla at home, and I used the Juke permanently. Its driving is very enjoyable, especially with the fast turbo engine. One of the best things that Nissan made
Such an ugly lump.
I love my Juke. It is a sleeper Hot Hatch with the 1.6 Turbo.
I live in US, and I own a juke. Love it to death. Mine is 2011. Bought it new. I bought because it’s a bit quirky! No longer part of Nisan line-up here.
I'm thinking of buying a 2011 Juke. Have you had mechanical problems with it? If so, what problems? Thank you so much
I’ve had mine for 3 months, and I love it! It’s a funky little car, parking and handling is a breeze, getting in and out is comfortable. It’s super teen friendly, my daughter was struggling learning to drive my husbands old truck, but with the juke she was a natural! Being able to see the indicator lights blink with the direction she is turning, helps to remind her to use her turn signal. The giant mirrors assist in easy parking, and merging.
My daughter is 6’ 2’, and I’m 5’ 5” (she gets her height from her father) both of us can comfortably drive this car. The horn is a little pathetic but I’d say it suits the style of the car!
The door handles are super ergonomic, I have bad wrist problems and the circle design on the inside handles don’t put any strain on my wrists.
nice one, thank you. that's some good real-world usage there, stuff like the handles being good for bad wrists, is not something that any car journalist or reviewer would ever think of! :)
The horn is definitely abysmal. I wish I could get mine changed
Did you buy a manual or automatic I don’t know which to get
@@MissAbsss You can. I spent my youth changing my friends car horns for upgraded air horns that can be heard miles away!
The drive is terrible though. I bought one after watching the JUkE review videos and the longer I have the car, the more I regret it. Today i was driving along when crash sensor went off - auto brakes applied, warning alerts were blaring but there was nothing in front of me. In a 80km zone this was not fun!!!! And this always happens!!! Very jumpy bunny hoppy drive - for 40000 AUD youd think theyd at least have the driving experience right. Seems as though they put their budget in the aesthetics but even that isnt amazing
Just bought one Tuesday for my very first car, honestly loving it
Do oil changes on this car religiously, specially if it's a turbo.
if your planning to keep it for long change the turbo oil feed, I would say every 30 to 50k miles or do an upgrade from fast religion oil feed.
I am working on one right now so I got to see the design of the engine first hand, while I am not too afraid of failure points the turbo produces extra moisture which sips in to the oil and gunks up.
This blocks feed lines specially the turbo feed line which kills the turbo.
Search on UA-cam, juke turbo feed line to know what I am talking about.
this gunking also wears the time chain but that's a different discussion.
I can talk about upgrades and what not but if you're not mechanically inclined I will just confused you.
Just remember to change the oil every 3 to 5k miles I would side more towards the lower end than the higher, like I said...
Religiously or else you're going to be disappointed.
I got my car from the auction and thankfully the last owner had a vacuum leak instead of the oil engine death.
The oil is horribly dirty and needs an emergency change on mine but lucky the engine sag on the last owner and sold it to me for Penny's on the dollar.
The engine is still pretty good but the oil is trash.
Wish I was close to you to help you service the car, I been studying the design this whole week just to fix mine, is a different design than most standard engines
Looking to get one, does the reverse guidelines move when using?
@@aminaronaldo1
I don't really know what that means, I haven't drive mine yet so I can't talk too much about driving the car.
I finally figured what happened to mine, the previous owner bump the front passenger side and broke what is known as the intercooler, this is a pressurized system and had a nasty crack, parts have been order and should be here come this week, I'll let you know what I think about the car a soon as I drive it.
They seem like an ok investment if you keep up to maintenance and preventative maintenance before things fail.
That oil feed seems to be the weakest point of this car
My condolences.

I've always liked the look of the Juke. I can't pinpoint exactly what I liked about it visually, maybe it's the lights and the combination of the body styling, but it just stands out. Is it a great car, absolutely. It's not the best, but from my experience it's better than what the detractors say about it. It's fun to drive, handles extremely well, great gas milage and it's just a pleasure banging through the gears on the highway.
Different design is always controversial, remember bland 90's eurostuff, so boring. Quirky is cool eh. a design brief is always difficult to follow eg headlights need to be certain height from the floor. Indicators on top of the front wings, enabling you to see - and then cancel (when you dont hear the audible? warning bit) ........ ask any motorcylist/moped etc user how many near misses theyve had)
Personally I love what ya car is about, tis fit for purpose, perfectly.
Happy motoring.
A neighbour of mine traded his Merc for a juke 🤪. I thought he’d lost his mind, but he loves it. Takes all sorts...
Haha, interesting swap for sure...
JUKE RULES
@@variationss by you're quick.
I just bought one used with 42,000 miles, I have drove it as a work car for 2 months now and getting great gas mileage. Personally, I like the way its looks. It's just different. My previous ride was a Veloster, which also was a weird design. The Juke rides alot smoother the n my Veloster, so it was a upgrade for me. So far so good, I don't have too many complaints about this economical and practical crossover.
Ooh, I like the look of the Veloster and I too like it's quirky design, especially the odd door situation :)
@@JJonCars I saw one in the flesh many moons ago in my local Hyundai dealer showroom - I was tempted at the time but head overcame heart!
Advice from a juke owner sending it to the junk yard. You better keep that oil changed every 5,000 miles and use synthetic. You need to change trans fluid every 50,000 miles. You also need to change the timing belt out more than once during the life of the car. Lessons learned!!!
Must have same taste the veloster is only other car I've been attracted too. I'm old now but still have young taste. Appreciate all the great comments so it makes me want the juke definitely. But being old I've m ever purchased a used car, but I'll do good if u can buy a used one.
I don't know how to go about finding one that's not gonna be a lemon or have hidde serious issues.
Thanks to all u guys

@@JJonCarsinterior on the velos go bad real fast. I nearly bought a used velo 2 weeks ago but bought the juke instead and I'm so pleased. I'm a Nissan driver, own a cube, 350z, and juke currently. Sound system is terrific too. No remarks about the sound yet so I'll just say Bose w/Rockford Fosgate really delivers.
Always like the look of the Juke don’t really understand why people are so against it to be honest
Absolutely love my juke, great for my back issues that I have so I find it really comfortable. Great to drive. I had a 16 plate and traded for 18 plate automatic. Both outstanding cars 😊
NISSAN Juke - Shift Lock Release with a Pen
ua-cam.com/video/H2Z5-Dw0ve0/v-deo.html
I have a 2014 Nissan Juke SL that I bought used in 2018. After almost 5 years, I still love it! Mine has the 4-cyl turbo engine and while the mileage isn't as high as newer models, it is still head and shoulders above the Ford Mustang that it replaced. Unfortunately, Nissan no longer offers the Juke here in the U.S., so when I have to replace it, it will have to be with something else.
I just bought a 2011 as a gas saver. I really like the car, it has a good firm ride, it's fast with the turbo, a little cramped inside, I expected that, handles fantastic.
I like the high driving position and the flat load area. It's a decent little runabout and most of the hi-tech features can safely be ignored or treated as set-and-forget.
This is a good point actually. If you don't like the high tec stuff you can actually turn it off. Whereas most new cars they won't let you do that
I have had a 2014 Juke for 6 years. I love my car. It’s very peppy. The Juke’s “get up and go” is amazing!
I've had mine for 6 years, and I love my Juke!
any problems??? i’m thinking about getting one but can only afford so much yanno
A fair review at last! 😄Had one for 2 years, loved the car, never had any problems with it, was around 48,000 miles. Part exchanged it for a Jaguar XF, and not really sure I like the Jag better. Even though the XF is a 2L diesel and Tax is only about £30, it's much heavier, and MPG round town is prob about 40mpg at best (despite MPG claims). I always liked the look of the Juke, thought it was very stylish, would have another one. My only complaint was the headlights, not really bright enough for 70MPH on a dual carriage way, always looked like I was driving into the dark.
Wow! I've always thought about getting an XF, it's my kind of car I think. But goes to show how different cars are for different people, and reviewers can forget what it is that people can and do like about cars :) (I need to remember this myself of course)
You can turn the brightness up and down and choose how many sets of lights you use x
Thank you for the video! I agree with you that the design is somewhat weird, but after taking a look at the car a few times I actually started to like it :)
You are spot on with your review. I have had mine for 2 weeks and the pot hole thing where the car jumps a bit and the seats not being the most comfortable (Although I spent about an hour finding the seat sweet spot, and that is now resolved) Everything else abut the car is great. Auto headlights, Auto Windscreen washer etc.
I drove a London Taxi for 30 years and there is a similarity to the Metrocab (No longer in existence) with the Juke that I really like, yes even how it handles potholes, although I still haven't tried the traction control yet!
One thing I will mention that is very important for anyone who has the keyless entry and engine start is to buy a good quality faraday wallet to house the entry key when not needed, as this prevents a potential relay attack!
Cheers :) That is a very unusual comparison I wouldn't have expected, I have to say! The Metrocab, I know exactly the taxi you mean. You don't really see them around any more.
@@JJonCars They went bankrupt many years back. The Public Carriage Office would have taken them off the road by now anyway because the smoke they poured out, being a 2.5L Ford Diesel Engine.
The comparison isn't so much about the looks, but the drive. I should point out I have the CVT Gearbox version. The seat position in relation to the road, the feel of the gearbox. It's actually why I bought one.
everyone started copying juke's style
What style? 😂
@@Codzilla71- you're just being silly and rude. Everything has a style. Style isn't a word meaning appreciation, it describes how something looks. Can't you understand English?

Live in the u.s., 2015 turbo(cvt) fwd, awd, and awd vectoring 188 hp factory. Added an injen short ram, stillen catback, stillen performance rear antisway bar, and tanabe front tower brace. Pushing 210 hp now, and it sticks to the road, growls, and the intake sounds like dragon's breath. Turned a kitten into a panther for just about 1200 bucks u.s. Phenomenal car, understated and underrated. Just ordered a pedal pro (injen) black edition x throttle controller. Sad as hell 2019 was last year in u.s. would buy another in a heartbeat. Most fun car ever as a daily driver with balls.
Sounds great!
Installed throttle controller a few months ago (Injen black edition) and wow, I'm blown away! Touch the pedal and there is no lag between pedal hit and engine response. Beware, the more you modl this car, the faster the factory components wear out. I'm now either experiencing timing chain issue or tensioning belt issue.
I have a 2016 SV Model in the US. Has a 1.6T and I love the car. I`ve had it 6 years now and not one single issue at all. Runs better than the day I drove it off the showroom floor. Also, it`s extremely quick with the turbo, which is very satisfying. I get a LOT of comments about it and how it looks -- all positive, I might add(not a common car here in the colonies).
Nice one. It's interesting because I had this thought that if the Juke wasn't very common over here - let's say it was a Japanese import only - I think people would like the design a lot more.
Is the noise once you hit 40mph normal? I test drove one today, a 2013 and I kinda want it. I just don’t know too much are cars lol I wasn’t sure if the sound was problematic or not 😅
I have the Nismo version with a manual trans and love it to death. I wish Nissan would build something like this again because the car is just so much fun to drive. Unfortunately, I think Nissan's marketing department really blew it, because if they would of advertised this car more they may have had another Mini Cooper on their hands! Finally, I have owned the car for 6 years now and the only problem I had was bad sensor.
I really want to drive a Nismo one now :D
Hey I have Nismo 6MT as well and it truly is a blast to drive. I’ve also had mine for 6 years with minimal issues besides clutch swap to a single weight flywheel.
Have had my 2013 Nismo for 10 yrs/106K now, new off the lot and other than typical wear/tear parts replacement it's been flawless. Yes even the whined about Nissan CVT has been perfect to be honest. Mine is the AWD model and even after this much driving I'm still not bored with it. Driving family members newer cars feel like toasters with wheels as something about the quick/nimble handling of the Juke that is just missing on most rides these days. I plan to keep it going as long as possible as not much else on the market interests me. Not to mention that even at 10 yrs old the Nismo appeal/paint (pearlescent white) is still quite eye catching.
Nissan are good for using a range of standard ideas and platforms across models, So many issues are prone to follow I reckon and quite evident here with this and the K12 Micra , of which the Micras Diesel is apparently very good , But yet the petrol gets sh*t on , My 164k micra 1.2 is still a very capable and non smoking version and No one would expect its high mileage when driving it.
Nissan Juke ? I love the boldness of the design and when Japan gets boring thats when I'll be worrying ! Thanks JJ nice video :)
I think that the side glass of the Juke looks a bit like the GT-R :) Yes agreed, I like the craziness of a lot of Japanese designs, long may they continue. Cheers Jay Gee!
I have been contemplating if to buy one, this review is fantastic. Thank you and I'm glad I clicked on your video.
Nice one, thank you. Good luck in your search for one if you decide to go for it!
I have a 2016 SL model with the 1.6T AWD in lipstick red💄.
I agree with this review. I became obsessed with them when I heard their discontinuation and in 2020 I bought her used with 19k miles. Today she has 89k and I've driven it to other states, off road, through mountain passes, and major cities. Best car ever, and major head turner.
I'm a small human (5'4") so for me its perfect. If we go on longer drives alone or with the pups (2 Staffordshire Terriers & 1 German Shepard) the seats make the perfect cargo space. The conversation with backsteat me would be different cos of my size, but I understand that, so I let tall people ride in front while the hubby drives (6'4).
#JukeLife
I live in US (Texas) and I have 1.6 Turbo "Petrol" version and I love the way it drives, not comfort but responsive and fast for the size of the engine. Anyway, I liked the video and thorough review! As the English like to say! "Cheers! "
Cheers Damon! I bet it feels pretty quick :)
LUCKY!! I can't find one!!
@@JJonCars My 16 inch rims make it corner super clean!
Love mine but yes a hard ride. Makes me smile everytime I get in.
I ❤ my 2016 AWD Red Juke. Bought it 2017 used, with 11k miles on it. Has 65k now. The Sport option makes the car accelerate very fast very quickly which is what you need for USofA Freeway driving. I love the eccentric look of it. A co-worker called it “ the Frog.” 😅 Well, a cute young lady drove past me recently in her white Juke and flashed me the biggest smile.
Two things though that I live with: as noted on JJ’s review, the ride is a little rough…and passenger side over the shoulder visuals are limited for changing lanes safely. Minor details for all the fun this cool car distinctly gives your life.
Thanks for your video JJ. Love the exchange between the backseat guy and you😂.
Cheers Myke! I am finding that there is a lot of love for the Juke in the US!
lol not the Frog
Just got my pre-owned Juke 2013 yesterday & I love it. All the neighbors came over 2 look @ the 'cute' car. Now I need 2 figure out all the extras...
Wish me luck 🎉
Nice one! Good luck and enjoy the car!
I own a 2013 nissan juke only had it for a month but I'm enjoying it I actually like the styling it's something different and stands out no issues so far. could do with abit more power as I bought the 1.6 non turbo but when you put it in sport it's pretty quick.
Thank you for your reviews. We fell in it after finding a 2012 Juke SV for $5000/91K miles. During the test drive the engine was very noisy. The beginning of your review your juke sounded loud too but then got quieter as you drove. I’m quite concerned over the CVT transmission failing frequently on this car so I haven’t bought it but I am over the moon with its looks. I’m taking it to a Nissan dealer for their inspection of it next week. Thanks again! Cheers
One thing to note is I think that the Juke diesel engine is quite a noisy engine, much more so than some of its rivals. No problem, thanks for watching and good luck :)
My 2013 Nismo version is CVT/AWD and has been flawless for 106K miles now and still drives like the 1st day off the lot. Did have the fluid exchanged at the 75K point and will likely do it myself again in another 10-20K just to keep on top of things. I have no idea if the Nismo version has a slightly tweaked CVT, but will say I'm still not bored with what the car can do and have no doubts about it going another 80-100K miles with proper care, like any other car preventive maintenance and decent respectful driving is key.
I've always considered the Juke to be ugly, but that car actually looks OK in that grey colour. I know someone that has a silver Juke, but with blue body trim - that colour combination reminds me of a Dalek!
There are some very strange colour combos for sure! Yeah, it does look better in the grey, bit more modern and understated... somehow.
I have the Nissan Juke, I don't enjoy the handling on it or how small the back is but I don't have a family so it works for me. & I do have an AWD for the snow!
I’m on my second Juke, current one a 2017 diesel tekna and I love it. I got it with 3k on the clock and its now just turned 80k. Only issue has been condenser stone damaging taking my air con out, a design fault in my opinion.
Happened to me as well. Very poor design
Yeah it's a really silly design, it's happened to both Juke owners I know too. But great to hear it has been otherwise reliable.
I had a 2013 Juke which I adored but sadly it developed an undercarriage noise that could not be found and fixed so after dumping money I traded it for a 2017 Renault Captur... which I HATE, I am now looking to pick up a 2016 model Juke this weekend and I can't wait to have another one! I hear this one has a bigger boot than the 2013 's did as well, so bonus!
The Mrs had a 2013 when it was new
She's had a few cars since and has just told me that she wants one again.
It was epic on fuel, I can remember that we once got over 70mpg on the way back from Southampton to Doncaster
It was reliable but the AC didn't work, it was repaired 3 times but we then gave up as the lease was ending and we couldn't be arsed anymore.
Sounds exactly like the experience of the owner of this car. Absolutely excellent MPG, busted aircon 😆.
I’ve had one for 8 years and it’s never skipped a beat
That's good to hear :) Have you done a lot of miles in it? Which engine?

@@digmastersi8026I’m picking my 2018 1.6 Bose edition up this Friday… is there anything I should be weary of? Tia?
I've heard these called the Nissan Joke since they launched, even called them that myself a few times. But, now I have seen some for sale locally I have started to properly look at them and am going to test drive a 2014 car tomorrow, it's colour grabbed my eyes as I drove past as it's Yellow with Black arches/wheels/spoiler... It just made me smile and it's a while since a car did that.
Funny how time can change your mind :)
I’m in the same situation, there’s a yellow 2014 model with black rims and bits that I’m falling in love with.. maybe we’ll be twinsies 😂
I owned a 2017 (final year here in the states) Nismo RS 6-speed, which came with the full-fat 215hp 1.6 turbo, and it was an absolute blast. Despite the funky looks, it did get a lot of compliments, and it was a genuinely fun car both in spirit and drive - although I have to concur with you that it was not the best long-distance car, even with the Nismo Recaros. Thanks to a mum in a minivan sideswiping it, I traded out to a Lexus IS350 in '21, but often miss how silly and spirited the Juke was. An additional fun fact - the Juke is the same size as a B13 generation Sentra/Sunny saloon!
Ah, RIP Nismo Juke. I'd love to have a go in one, I bet they are really fun. IS350 is a nice car, very different though and long distance is probably much easier for you now :)
@@JJonCars they are absolutely a joy to hoon around - the Nismo RS is basically the RenaultSport Clio on stilts, LSD included. I hope you get the chance to give a manual one a go! You're absolutely right about the Lexus - it's a lovely car, just a very different attitude about it. Different kind of enthusiast experience 🙂.
We've had our Juke since 2014, we love it. It's "funky" shape is part of it's appeal. When we take to our local Nissan Dealership we are asked if we would like to "trade up" to something else, our standard reply is " It's not a Juke."
Haha, glad you like it!
On his birthday in 2021 my son bought me a 2013 Nissan Juke and I enjoy it so much! It's surprisingly roomy, drives well and doesn't aggravate my back problem💙💙💙
He bought you a car on his birthday? There's a son to be proud of :) Good to hear you enjoy the car 👍
@@JJonCars He sure did!!! It was a total surprise. I had been without a vehicle for 2 years and I was content and thankful for public transportation and had no idea he was saving up to buy it! I was beyond happy and so thankful!! I'm so proud to be his Mother and I'm still enjoying my beautiful car!
Thinking of getting one, so I test drove one today, I would say the seat comfort was my biggest complaint about it. The felt narrow and hard, which maybe would just take time to get used to. Normally I drive larger vehicles where the seats supply more support on the sides, and this didn't feel like there was any side support.
Yep, they are a bit firm. At least the leather ones in this example are
I drive an older model of a juke and it doesn’t have leather seats and can say they are not. I love the steering and love the sport sport because it tightens everything.
@@Hunter-nb6ho That's good then. Does seem to be the way that leather seats are often harder than the normal fabric ones.
Pro tip : Put a small pillow at the side.
I have a 2013 SL in Metallic Bronze and I love this car. Really a drag that they stopped making the Juke in the states. My only complaint about it is, believe it or not, the tiny visors!! Not being able to extend them to block the blinding sun is so frustrating. I used to have a 2013 Mazda CX5 and the Juke blows it out of the park in terms of features and power. Just get keep the oil clean and get the CVT fluid changed every 30k and this car is far more reliable than people want to give it credit for.
The Nissan Juke in my opinion is a great option for a first car. It gives you everything you would need without too much unnecessary items. Also it gives you an idea of what you do and don’t need out of a vehicle in the future without spending a fortune
Yeah, true true 👍
I bought a 2012 Juke Tekna to carry my mountain bike and snowboards and I absolutely love it. Tons of room inside, good sized boot, great driving position, funky looking, cheap as chips to buy, 1.6 petrol, 40mpg, decent spec, cheap insurance. Fantastic!
Thank you so much. What a professional, down to point review. I'm impressed with the presentation and a funny humor. I know everything I needed about car. Much appreciated.

I bought mine in 2011 and still have it. It’s so fun to drive and I love that it’s different! I do agree the seats aren’t that comfy.
I was working at Nissan's tech centre in Bedfordshire when the Juke was launched, I thought they had gone insane producing such an ugly car, I've owned V8 Jags, V6 Alfas and got bored with them in a year or so, I bought my Juke Nismo RS brand spanking new 7 years ago today and I still love it as much as the first day, slightly tweaked at 236bhp and so much fun
I really want to try a Nismo Juke!
@@JJonCars Make sure you try the Nismo RS, It's the car the Nismo should have been from the start, More power and generally better sorted all round
I'm not keen on the way it looks, but there's a surprising amount of tech. in that car.
Love my Juke! 2013 was a very good year for them. 130k miles, still going strong!
If you like troubleshooting, this is the perfect car for you. Every week there will be a new issue for you to figure out. Thats why they call it the Juke, the second you think you got everything fixed, it jukes you and then you're stuck in the middle of nowhere, watching UA-cam videos showing you how to jiggle the break switch to get the thing to start.
I have a 2018 Tekna Auto. Slight gearbox leak done under warranty otherwise problem free.
MPG a bit disappointing at times depending on driving style.
I have done 3900 miles and still use the excellent dealer in Altrincham who does not rip me off and I get 12 months roadside assistance with each service.
This Juke has character and charm whereas the new one looks like many other cars on the road.
I've a 1.5 Diesel Nissan Juke. They can get loud if the injectors are faulty, I replaced all four of mine for 1k euro + labour and engine sounded great!
Richard Hammond's favourite car 😆😆
I had a 2016 RS. On a 5 year lease. Loved it even the painful Recaro side bolsters. Only issue was a ghost in the machine with push button start. Mine was built in Japan.
Have a Corolla now which I bought for retirement. Miss the RS.
Oh nice, good to hear it was mostly reliable. The new shape Corolla is a really nice car, but not fun like the Juke can be.
Hey JJ, I never knew it was a controversial car. But I did really like the part where you were driving around town and then just opened the door lol
Haven't you ever heard it called the Nissan Joke? Or the Nissan Puke?
Hahaha yeah, I did do that didn't I 😂
I’ve had mine from 20000 miles, now nearly 102000, only serviced by Nissan, not one bit of trouble with it, I love it.
just bought one the bose edition absolutely love it .4 cylinder engines are way much better than 3 cylinder. the styling of the old juke is so destive .
Is your name actually Dukes too? :) Perfect car for you hahah. Glad you like it
I bought mine back in 2013 and still own it and love it!
Drove a few of these when I worked for an auction lot a few years ago…they were fun lil cars. In general, I found myself liking most everything Nissan had going, certainly the 370z, GTR and all the typical stuff. But the Juke was really unique for what it is. I dig em!
There are a surprising number of design similarities between the three cars when you look closely :)
I have a Juke Nismo and love it. I like it's different and is a perfect city run about. But yes a lot of my friends hate on it but I don't care ha
Own the 1,2 digt and i m very happy with it. 120 hp and 7,0 l/100km with pedal to the floor ;)
Only issue was the condenser once.
It s only for commuting 120km/day.
Worth every penny
Nice one!
I don't think any car is bad or ugly. They are not made for everyone. Rich people make fun of some cars while that car might be a dream of someone. It's just I can't see anyone hating a car. I am an Automobile Enthusiast!
Hear hear! I feel the same way 😊
The thing that detracts from the juke for me is how unnecessary it is when compared to a regular small hatchback. The shape is funky, and I give credit to Nissan for trying something new, but it limits cargo space by not being as uniform of a shape. You’d probably fit similar amounts in a smaller hatchback, which doesn’t have the lumpy pokey-out bits of the juke, meaning it’s easier to park. Overall, it’s as practical as a hatchback, while having the size issues of a larger car, not the best combination
I live in Canada, love my Juke, but.. We get snow and the wipers are a nightmare.
I've got one and it's a good car and very underated.
Can’t be that bad they are the most common car around u see them every where
Very good point. I see even more of them now having done the review.
The best car 🚗 ever made! Have one yellow/2016.❤
When I bought my 2016 Nissan Juke I loved it. Still do but just over 12months of ownership I've had to replace all four spark plugs and coils and now I find timing belt gone which has ruined other parts if engine and this is going to cost £1800 to put right. I've since been told timing belt is an issue with Jukes?
I haven't heard anything specific about timing belt issues. What mileage was the engine on when the belt failed, and had it been replaced previously? The service schedule will say when the belt should be replaced. With any belt driven car they do need to be replaced every X miles or X years, or they can snap and cause engine damage
I have the 1.2 Dig-T so it is turbocharged and it gives me that little sporty feeling when I shift the 6 gear manual and hear the little turbo go „stuuuu“. You can hear that as a driver very well and I like it.
Great review, think we are picking one up this weekend (for the wife, of course)! You've got a new sub 😁
Hey thanks! Enjoy the car (if she lets you drive it 😄)
I took it some days ago! Its the same 3/2015 very economic on consuming! I hope the best of it ! Nice video! Thank you!
Hey, thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Something similar to my Nissan Note E12, especially the Nissan Connect 2 with the Tekna spec 360 camera on it. But my Note volume just performs normally, didn't have any trouble for me, it does automatic volume up and down depending on your car speed, but it performs well.
However the air-con condenser on the Juke is a huge problem, unlike my Note the condenser is behind the radiator which is protected, but I think it could install an additional grille for better protection just like the radiator.
Nice vid mate.
Thank you. Bad design isn't it - interesting to hear they got it right with the Note
🐸 Frog look, but loving it all the way
Picking up my 2018 Bose edition this Friday! Can’t wait!
Enjoy!
I have had my Juke since 2018. I love it.
I like the looks and compact size of Juke and it being high seat above road. Although, I would probably not like to be in backseat with my height (slightly higher than Backseat JJ, 188 cm) and with my rivalry with public transport seat leg space.
Good to hear from someone who likes the looks of the Juke! Yes you would not like the backseats - tall people problems :)
Funny to read that you had a problem with the legroom in the back. I am also 188cm and even had enough legroom after I put the seat in front of me back. But I now have an Opel Tigra so I may have a different standard in terms of legroom😅
Mine is a 65 plate 1.5dci it's been bullet proof reliable for 4 years from 28 000 miles to 74,000 miles and does 65mpg. I like it.😊
Yes, the economy is really impressive isn't it!
my dad bought a new 2013 juke and has had incessant issues with it mechanically ever since. neither of the common issues mentioned in this vid so maybe just a lemon. appearance wise this car is badass and its really easy to drive. the seats are awful though :(
I worked briefly at Nissan and was always anti Juke because of what technicians told me, but realistically most the faults on newer vehicles were predominantly electrical stuff related to sat nav system etc etc, these were mainly sorted by updates.
I ended up in a 13 plate 1.6 petrol tekna Juke recently, mainly due to a Romanian white van van deciding to randomly cross two lanes to turn right and plough into my 59 plate AMG c class automatic.
My insurance company have held onto 1500 quid whilst they try claim it back and this didn't leave me much money to play with whilst I'm waiting on redundancy money, and I needed something to insure I could get to work if I found something, plus getting wife to work and shopping etc etc.
I also wanted something cheaper on fuel (my 2.2 diesel was heavy on fuel, road tax and insurance).
So, I couldn't really afford a proper suv, but also didn't really need one, but the extra leg room and raised view was good for my wife to get into the car, as she struggled with more sporty vehicles and low seats. I wanted leather interior, because of my mom's dogs shedding hair like no one's business, and ideally sat nav built in, and ideally ulez/green zone compliant.
The Juke kinda was in my budget, so ended up going for it.
It has pros and cons, the petrol 1.6 engine is pretty weak, and you really don't feel any sense of pick up in lower gears, and it has a relatively high biting point which I don't like either, but you get used to it...I guess. At higher speeds it doesn't feel greatest either and seems to be struggling a little, probably happiest in 60-70mph zone.
I love the seats and find them much better for my back than my Mercedes with lumber support, and infinitely better than the brand new Mercedes cla 180 I was given as courtesy car.
It has heated seats which my wife loves and I really like the raised position and it handles well around town, especially in sports mode. Comfort mode steering is little loose for my liking, but maybe some of that is the track rod ends having little play in them as per MOT. I'm getting them done today.
Not going to lie, I miss my Mercedes lol
But this definitely has some advantages over it too, and for someone who can't afford a real SUV and doesn't want to be paying green zone charges etc, it's pretty good.
I'm not someone who races about at high speeds, but I really wish that engine had a little more pick up
Quite the change from the AMG Merc, not surprised you miss that car. I have a CLK as my daily driver and its certainly more comfortable than the Juke. The Juke is really affordable to run though and as you say there is plenty to like about it. I think the 1.6 petrol is the slowest Juke - the 1.5 diesel or 1.2 turbo petrol both have a bit more go.
@@JJonCars yeah, I was looking at the diesel as I knew they were Renault diesel and shouldn't in theory be bad, but I've read otherwise and petrol more reliable out two, but even though they were dirt cheap on road tax and supposedly low emissions, they were not euro 6 compliant.
Maybe people just have different requirements for their backs, as I definitely do better with these seats that seem to just give me all round support and coverage.
Having said all this, my mate who buys and sells cars has a Mercedes automatic petrol come in and I'm really really thinking to take that as this high biting point playing havoc with my 46 year old ones lol
I would like one with hotted up engine , studded snow tyres , and some long snowy tracks
Backseat JJ building up his part, you need to watch out or he will be in the drivers seat soon!
Haha, I'm going to have to put the child locks on. Cheers Simon :)
Interesting to say that the model on the video is Tekna with Nismo pack on dCi 1.5 very rare edition to say, simple tekna doesn't have the lips, usually that vision comes with benzin engines
Cool, that is interesting. I will let the owner know she has a rare Juke :)
Bought the Nismo RS Manual (more power than the CVT 4WD) , never looked back, good space for packing up and going on holiday, decent mpg and it goes like the stink when you want it to.
I really want to drive a Nismo juke!
Had my Juke for 8 months . Have to say it's sporty and got reasonably good boot space with the seats folded down. Don't understand all the hatred. They're not Mercs, but they're fine about town and on the motorway.
It's actually really impressive what you can fit in there with the seats down!
The car is a cutest "CHIPMUNK' I admire despite that fact that we barely have it here in Uganda (east Africa).
I have recently purchased a 2011 Acenta Premium pure drive, I love it, but I have one complaint, it sounds like the exhaust is rattling, but when a mechanic got it up on the ramp he could not find anything wrong. He said he tightened up the heat plate, but that didn’t cure the rattling sound.
It only happens when I am pulling away, so it doesn’t really bother me that much, but it is a bit concerning.
Has anyone else found this problem?
the maintenance of CVT transmission of this car is very important thing
About to get my first car... I've gone through so many finding which I like design wise that's fuel efficient too. I can't go lesser than 10 years back so I don't spend an arm and a leg..
The juke is kinda doing it for me.. Only a bit worried about the size, and that back sit. I know you say behind the passenger sit.. I'm not a tall person, but I'd like tall people to be very comfortable in it for my friends that may want to use it from time to time.. Or ride in it.
I really like the design.. And I'm considering it.. If I can test it, maybe I might decide better..
It's okay for tall people for shorter journeys :) Definitely worth a test drive to see what you think
My wife as just brought a juke 1.5 dci acenta premium 64 plate she loves it getting 54 M.P.G around town at the moment.
That's a good mpg.
Is it still at that level?
Enquiring because I'm not getting that return.
Will check when wife gets home from work tonight and let you know!!
@@Dave-cd8ji appreciated
Just checked M.P.G on the wife's car she's getting 52.2 most of that is local journeys
@@Dave-cd8ji hi again. That's just a little above my returns, 50.8. I try to drive economically, the price of fuel etc. Thanks for the information, safe motoring.
Don't get a Juke unless you're gonna lease it. Drive it a couple years and turn it back in. My wife has one that was totally fine until it wasn't. Do your homework on the timing chain recall. The probability of having serious problems down the line are very high. Once it starts failing, it's one thing after the next. We just got a new house with plenty of acreage. I think I'm gonna take it out back and practice my demolition skills. Can't even sell it for parts because all the important stuff is tied to the designed to fail engine and CVT transmission.
Why is the gears boxes so hard to change the gears 😮
i have finally got my first juke, always have always see pass through this model over the have own cars. I bought the 2024 base model Juke with two little twin turbo. It is still lagging in power kinda like the car is a picking momentum how to give boost. For an automatic i stall it three times quite funny actually. Its because the car chooses to stop when you press the break too hard. But i got used to the car now very fast on the street line its wants to go. City wise mmm it chews fuel so much thats how i find it out. But over all i love it.
I have a Nissan juke nismo rs it was a 50th birthday present to myself love it
Brilliant 50th birthday present 👍
@2:33 It is a small SUV but one of those with style over substance, unless you opt for the top tier facelift model with AWD.
@3:35 Enough performance to do what? Going fast on the Autobahn? Being sporty?
Been driving a juske nismo since 2014 and all i get is complements. I can park anywhere and it has plenty of room. Plus the fact i have a nismo added another turbo and fun things i could... 😢 sadly off roading is bs my nismo got a bogged jeep... but yours had a deisel mine doesnt engines different for best nor ought
